We like to review base models here. To be honest, I like to review EVERY trim, but it's important to me to review the base models regularly so that people can see what others may not be able to show.
Ive be watching many of these reviews over the last few weeks. I LOVE your style of reviewing. Doing a Base review is so so good. You’re the only one doing it. THANK YOU. I’ll admit. I’m cheaper and I always want to see the base car.
I actually like doing reviews of the lower-level trims. Reviewing the top trims is fun because of all of the tech, and fun-to-play-with features. The lower trims are all about decisions. They need to cut features and hit certain price points, so it's fun for me to see if they did what I would have done and if they matched what the average buyer wants in that class. I'll do plenty more base car reviews. Thanks for watching!
I have an essential model which I bought brand new in July of 2021. Most features, and it is loaded with features,I don’t use or have need for. One in particular that I think is important is the temperature gauge. The first summer, winter and the past summer the pointer on the temperature gauge always pointed to the middle of the gauge when driving and the engine coolant was supposedly at normal operating temp. Something has changed in the past few weeks. The gauge is graduated in increments of 1/8th. The middle of the gauge is 4 1/8ths,or 1 half. The problem now is that the pointer only gets close to mid scale if you let the engine idle for some time. When driving on the highway the pointer never reaches half scale,it drifts between 1/8th,1/4 and 3/8ths. It will go to 3/8ths,stay for a bit and then fall to 1/4 or 1/8th. When the problem became apparent I called the service department where I bought the car and informed them I needed a new thermostat I was informed that the car didn’t use a thermostat, that the system was more advanced than that. When I took the car in for it’s scheduled service I assumed the problem was resolved, however on my way home the condition still existed. I returned to the dealership and stopped just outside the service bay door. I remained in the car with the engine running and the drivers window down. When the service manager came out I explained why I had returned,he put his right hand into the car close to the upper heat vent closest to the door. He said you are getting heat, not to worry about the temp gauge as the engine block is made out of aluminum and that is the reason the gauge does not stay in one position. The heat was not excessive and the outdoors temp was around zero. How much heat will I be getting in the car when it is -30c in this area, which is quite common here? His explanation made no sense to me. If the gauge is reading the temperature of the engine coolant, why is it constantly changing position while you are driving at a constant speed on the highway. When on the highway I drive mostly in cruise mod. 🤪🤔
I bought a new 2021 Tucson in June of this year and 3 weeks ago I bought a new 2022 Tucson SEL W OPTIONS!! THE 2022 is awesome compared to the 2021 Tucson! The 2021 had a 2.0. 4 cylinder ran way better than I thought it would, it got way better gas mileage than my new 2022 w the 2.5 liter I love the 2022 Tucson!!
I checked out the '22 Tucson today, in anticipation of the Santa Cruz Ultimate I have on pre-order. If this Tuscon had been on sale last summer, we wouldn't have picked up an Equinox. The room and comfort in the '22 is fantastic! Hyundai did a really great job with it. Love the new front end and extra size. Still, can't wait for my Santa Cruz - or your live stream when you finally get one in. I was going for the Preferred/Trend ... but wife said get the ventilated seats, so the Ultimate is on pre-order. :) Also, as far as the low signal lights on the back go ... I'm in camp "they should be higher for visibility" BUT the argument about not being able to see them at a stop light or whatnot is BS. You're supposed to stop far enough behind the vehicle in front of you that you can see their rear wheels on the ground. If you can't see those headlights, you're already many feet too close.
Turn signals are more the car in the next lane then it is for the guy behind , and people like driving in my blind spot, making those low signal lights a minor problem

I was just looking at the SEL AWD in the Quartz white, those size wheels are ALL you need and you're right about higher profile tires being safer off road. I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a 2nd vehicle and i think this has MORE interior room than my GC and like the fold down seats, my Jeep i need to remove the bottom part of the seat and put them somewhere in order to have the seats lay almost flat, i also lose plenty of space with the full sized spare located in the rear compartment.
A seller should note: a good thing not to have a roof rack: it is much easier to remove the snow on the roof without the permanent rails. With our last storm here in gatineau I could comfirm . Previous car was rav4 with roof rail and it was pita to clean the roof.
I don't have an issue with mine. I use a larger extendable snowbrush that allows me to reach across the vehicle easily. If you push the snow side to side, a simple swipe from front to back on each side will clear the remainder. We clear every car on the lot here at the dealership every time it snows, so we get used to how to do it efficiently.
I just bought mine a week ago. Exact same color. I got the based model. I love it. I didn’t need much and felt it was a mixed of everything. I actually don’t have heated seats in my base model😕everything else is the exact same
I'm kind of a do it myself kind of guy, is there any way you could get under the vehicle and show us things like the oil drain plug and transmission drain plug? those are pretty basic maintenance tasks that I do myself rather than pay someone to do for me. Also I would've like to have heard the speakers and the horn. Thanks I think this review was the best I've seen so far.
I'll put some of these cars up in the air in the future to show you what's under there. As far as the speakers and horn, they'll only sound as good as the microphone that I'm using, and the speakers that you're using. If I'm filming with my phone, and you're listening on a laptop, you'll have no idea what the speakers really sound like. So that's not something that works well. We're a dealership, so we always invite people in to hear things for themselves.
My 17 cruze has a transmission drain plug and a fill plug best thing ever for a vehicle to have I drain 4 quarts and replace periodically to keep it fresh

Does it works at 5-30 km speed or till 60 or even more...
I don't have information on the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, but I have that type of information on the 2021 Elantra. The Forward Collision warning can be active from 10-60 km/h for pedestrians, and 10 to 180km/h for vehicles. The Collision avoidance warning can operate from 10-30 km/h for the junction assist, and 10-85km/h for pedestrians and cyclists. I was really hoping to like this new base model Tucson but I'll wait to see the Kia Sportage. The interior as far as basic functions unfortunately continues to take a step backwards year after year. It's funny that piano black is so controversial with many people so Hyundai adds more literally everywhere even on the steering wheel controls? You say it's better fingerprint wise but dust, reflection glare, and scratching is always a problem it does not age well. Also touch button anything is really not smart safety wise compared to a real button for the odd person that attempts to use it. I want a CUV or SUV but I guess I'll be suck longer in my 2018 Elantra as It has physical buttons and is so proper in basic functions plus flawless android auto. No stop and go option that needs to be shut off every time I drive also. It looks brand new still with mat control buttons and dash. Only the gear shifter has a small piano black on the shifter and the readout bezel which are both scratched!
If your car still looks brand new, I think you'll be impressed with the quality and durability of the materials in the newer vehicles. But I'll never force you to buy it. My job is to show you the vehicles in detail, and let you decide for yourself.
@@BrantfordKia I appreciate the opinion. I think between the two looking at the 2022 Sportage I might consider it when its available. I'm not thrilled its HVAC is all touch screen buttons. Yeah, I don't think they interfere with anything if you don't need them, but for those of us who do use them, the Kia and Hyundai versions are excellent.
Yes, that's something that I could have worded better, but the 1.6 turbo engine is not the MAIN source of more power (although it does have more torque and more horsepower) The Electric Motor is what takes the power number to significantly higher numbers.
Speedometer looks bizarre. Ever wonder why speedometers go up to 240 km/h? Double the highest max limit in Canada, and the highest in the USA is 85 mph (137 km/h). I don't even think that most cars can even go 200.
Market research? I'm not really sure. Is it a styling thing? No one has ever explained that to me. Is there research that says that people will buy more cars if it reads a higher number? I'm not sure.

I'm not sure.
what is your address sir
