I sure get a kick out of the negative comments you get. The people that make them could never do what you do. Pretty sure it is jealousy. Keep on making these riding videos as they are excellent entertainment and info for us. Your views are very honest and unbiased. Thanks.

Best sled on the market! Brp engineers are always ahead of everyone and best suspension on the market. Love my Skidoo. I’ll always ride with team Brp.
They do make good sleds
My first and only sled was a 1980 Ski-Doo 5500 Blizzard with leaf spring suspension, it was a workout. I am 50 years old and I bought it around 1986. Unfortunately I moved further south and everyone in this area hates winter. I have owned other toys throughout my life but I miss Snowmobiling the most. I am extremely interested in this sled. Thank you for the video.
That is crazy I was born in 95 and you had a new sled in 1980!! I love the 4 season I dont think I will ever move south love riding sled to much well hopefully you can come back up and ride a sled or something have a good week sir
You need to buy a newer sled (a real sled) I rode my buddys 2003 polaris Xc 600 and it was brutal, had to ask him how he even rides it lol, coming from a gen4 ski doo it’s night & day on the trails….so much better, power and comfort level
KotaBear, just rode up in Northeastern MN. North shore riding. Was a blast with the wife. Still good up there just icy but still fun. Looking forward to buying a VR1. Rode my buddies 20 850. Badass machine👍
That's awsome I havent been able to ride basically for a month now shit is ridiculous this year has been horrible for us but that's awsome im.sure your gonna love the vr1 slick looking sled and I heard it's going to be just as good as the indy xc

This was at old forge Ny they have event where you can sign up and ride new sleds and current year model sleds also it's a fun time
I know this is an old video, but curious on your thoughts still. I’ve got a barn full of Polaris products, many of them new (sled and rzr) and some older triple XLTS and quads.
That’s my back story.
Im about fed up with Polaris recalls and stop rides and the past few years of snowcheck let down on timing of new sled delivery, I know that’s not all on them and it’s the post Covid world we live in.
But, I really think I want to spring order a back country XRS and see what happens If it comes out with a gen 5 facelift here in the next few weeks.
I’m a guy who has local trails, but spends a lot of my time up north in the woods and meadows and that’s why I think I’d like the BC over the assault. Tough call!
Thnks for you input man it has been ruff for sure these last few years i dont think im ordering new next year because i prob wont get it till late anyway hopefully they figure there ahit out abd ive been impressed with the g5 from what i have seen so you may love getting a backcountry g5

I sat on an Indy 850 the other day...really has be tempted! Funny seeing the Polaris flag while riding on a CanAm😜 lol The standing is the issue I have with my wheeler...6'1'' and I have to bend a lot more than I want to...one thing I can't wait about for the new machine 😎
Yeah definently need some risers i feel like most things are only meant for people like 5 foot 8 inches lol
@@KotaBearTV Agreed....as most people testing this stuff (engineers or testers) seem to be that height...sucks for anyone above average. lol. One thing that really turned me on to the new scrambler...not that it was height focused but the end result is those who are taller will benefit from it if they prefer to stand and ride like I do. How far are you from Newton Falls NY?

love riding in O.F. when did they have these demo rides. I would love to try it out when they have em.
They do the demo rides towards the end of season I think they did it in the beginning of march if I remember corrrectly
I gotta say i drove this same sled same day and was very impressed with it, it almost out handles my 2019 mxz xrs and i think with little adjustments it will, not to say is 38-40" front end. My favorite Polaris was definitely the 850 sba hands down, it was just smoother and overall did everything better then short track Polarises. And overall Polaris demo crew was the best, i mean when you're having hard time catching their leader thats amazing, and the ride was the longest too. Skidoo and artic cat need to do the same. How do they expect people to drop close to $20k on sled and not let people at least get to top speed?

Great Review like always, how would you compare this to the 2020 AC Riot 8000
I'm trying to remember but it's been a few years sense I have road both.. if I remember correctly the arctic cat was more planted to the ground where as thr skidoo wanted to lift a ski more... and the arctic didn't have as much power as thr skidoo exapecially the low end torque
You Polaris feels faster because it’s geared lower. The brp should be faster on the top end but not by very much.
The ski-doo 850 topped out at 128mph google thats fast

It's possible but I love my sks I got to really test it out in Maine and it did amazing!

You can set it to pull the skis they just don’t come set up that ski light
Yeah I found out after making the video they purposely set it up that way to keep front end down for better handling in the trails
What do you adjust for that? Does it have sn adjustable limiter strap? Buying this sled thursday with the 1.6 and would like a lil more ski lift than what im seeing

Hey man, Ya, with my 2019 Polaris Assault 144 850 was dead even with a Ski doo Renagade XRS 850. We didnt go that fast maybe 96mph. I think the XRS would of had legs on me...
Yeah they a very close rev rider 550 beat a skidoo 850 with his assault 144 850 and I ran against a couple 850s skidoos and it was pretty close every time it's just weird skidoos power feels different
@@KotaBearTV The Doo feels like it has a harsh engagement. The Poo is smooth...And When I ride Doo i feel like im riding on top of it...Not on it...If you get what im saying...Both 850's rock!
@@KotaBearTV It's in the set up and gearing Backcountry feels totally different from a Renegade for example.
How would you compare it on trail to your SBA??
They handle very similar although I did feel the backcountry got on 1 ski more than the sba

No tall pines atv park is a place I go ride fourwheeler in the summer I have to take that out of description the even is called snowfest and they have demo rides on new sleds or current year model sleds... you go there that day and sign waivers from the dealers and then you wait in lines and get to test ride sleds from each of the dealers it's a fun time and great to be able to get on other sleds!!!

Is something wrong with that motor or does you thumb blip the throttle continuously. The only time it sounds smooth is decelerating.
nothing is wrong with the motor i think i was playing with the throttle alot if i remember correctly
With p drive you get a much faster response on the throttle than previous generations, this can lead to a very blippy sound when going through bumps

I have the backcountry and my brother has the assault. Skidoo is faster. If you want a sled that lifts it's ski's go with the polaris. I like being able to steer.

Slower riders !! Some people can't drive a car never mind a snowmobile!! At least most snowmobilers move over around here they park in the high speed lane ! R.I and Massholes drivers are the worst@

I appreciate it man unfourtantely I didnt make it to this event this year but next year I will be there for sure to ride a couple of the new sleds and tell you what I think!! Have 1 or 2 more sled videos i can post and then onto summer hopefully get some riding in on my highlifter 850!
