Until the government becomes abusive and citizens try to rebel or protest or dissent. Then, their access to almost everything will be cut off. Also, the government will have access to know everything they buy and do - does Bad-Boy John own a dog or smoke or eat meat or go out every Friday night? Many door locks have smart codes, many countries will pass (like the USA just did) kill-switches on cars...
If your wife refuses to abort her 2nd child, the two of you could get electricity shut off, healthcare, travel, phone, internet, etc.
History shows us that people can be evil and it is people who run governments.
These digital IDs are being implemented in most western countries and will mean complete control over citizens.
      NOT a good thing.

Estonia is setting an example for the rest of the world in this area. What's unclear here is where the individual health records are held. Is this on a centralised database and, if so, how is the issue of data security addressed? Also unclear is the mechanism that facilitates portability of the records.

hi there, I'd like to ask for permission on 'taking' or borrowing your footages to be included in my educational-purposed video that would be one of the economics class assignment. I will surely put e-Estonia in the credits. thanks! :)

My grandma was diagnosed with cancer here in Canada at a hospital, so they sent her to BC Cancer to get treatment.. after several appointments where we have to answer the same questions and fill out the same forms (with a PEN on PAPER) over and over, she was scheduled for some scans by BC Cancer. Then the original hospital calls us and tries to book the same scan. I said "we're already booked for a scan with BC Cancer?" they said "Oh, we don't have any idea what they're doing or what you are doing either" I said "can you just request the scans from them?" they said "...no you'd have to request them to send them here once the scans are done." I'm like "what. the. fuck. this is so disorganized and inefficient."
