Fox and Sky sports really give us quality cricket content during the session breaks. Back in the day during the initial days, Star sports had a segment called "Masterclass" with ex cricketers like Akram, Sidhu, Ganguly which was worth watching. . .
@@aditya-ml6kmSky are still doing masterclasses. Mark Wood and Stuart Broad both replying to videos sent in by viewers last year. Sky did the segment with Stuart Broad outside in Old Trafford and Mark Wood was in a studio. Shane Warne did another one regarding leg spin.
I always laugh when Doull does batting analysis, but his bowling deconstructions are very very lucid and insightful. Love this segment. Nas, Athers and Wardie are the best in the business. The kid at 5:25 is going to represent England one day. How balanced does he look at this age?!
BCCI would be ecstatic to take the credit of having the prescience of putting Rahul Dravid incharge of the young cricketers but in reality we just lucked out that Rahul Dravid resides in Bangalore where the National Cricket Academy is situated and the great man didn’t want to be on the move or move out of Bangalore after his prolific career. And this stroke of luck has brought the most phenomenal bench strength Indian cricket has ever seen in its history.
Because our indian commentary panel has dumb people like sanjay manjrekar who makes stupid comments but the English presenters constructively criticise everyone.
@@aniketbankar4765 totally agree with you mate in the past oz had channel 9 which was the legendry panel of the commentators lawry, graig, benaud, mark taylor so which is your favourite panel 9 or sky
If you grip the bat the wrong way, you get lot more power on short arm jabs. I have a friend who grips the bat like that, and when his shots comes off, it's just so powerful. Problem is anything wide off the stumps he can't get any power
The batter getting his off pole was a game between Grayshott Ghost and Guildford Grizzlies in a t20 game at Woodbridge Road. Firstly the batman's name is Carlos Maloney who plays for Guildford cc not Cameron and batting in a lid was not necessary as bowlers are only allowed to bowl off 10 paces and the bowler was only bowling 60 odd miles and hr, so suggesting he was backing away was a bit harsh. I stayed legside because the offside boundary was only 50 odd meters.
Take notes Star cricket and Sony. That's how you make quality content rather than emphasizing too much on the fame of retired cricketers and amateur presentors.
England could learn a lot from the techniques of Indian cricketers. They've all got the fundamental techniques of classical cricketers. There aren't any that I've seen with 'idiosycratic movements' and the end result is in the national team being very successful.
@@TheCricketPirate They could learn but the coaches who have been overseeing the techniques of the batsmen seem determined that the 'new idiosyncratic' techniques are the way forward for some reason. Poor technique in dealing with spinning wickets in India and now poor technique (as well as temperament) has shown up in England too. I wonder when the proverbial penny will sink in?
@DIVYANSH JADLI I was always told that a world class batsman needs a good technique, talent and temperament. If you haven't got one the other two are worthless. England's batsmen showed they haven't got at least 2 of the 3 requirements. Their batting was abysmal. England gifted NZ about 14-16 of their wickets. They seemed intent on playing expansively outside their off stump far too early in their innings - at least 6 catches to the slips to balls far too wide and better left alone. Alastair Cook would have ignored those deliveries and made the bowler bowl at him, tire him down then start scoring. A simple tactic but a very effective one.
@@TheCricketPirate Not my question to answer. Although it's quite obvious the technique which they have has been found wanting. It's a question of whether they want to change and can change.
Smith tops averages-horrible stance. Walks across, two eyed! Runs, runs, runs. It does not matter as long as you hit the ball. Get in behind the ball, head still. Chanderpaul average 50-horrible. Javed Miandad, two eyed stance, runs everywhere. Analysis is easy. Anyone can sound informed. There has never been orthodoxy. It is a meaningless statement.
@@sanjaytyagi5230 I kind of liked his unusual style of batting. He really blossomed in the latter half of his career. Had really good mental strength on him as well to grind down the bowlers. Jonathan Trott and Steve Smith are annoying AF with their routines.
What we need is more coaching. Just keep coaching those kids until we have another era of English batters who are simply crap. Coaching kills talent just as a lack of development does. Michael Johnson has an idiosyncratic running technique that you guys would change. Smith jogs around the crease. It simply does not matter guys. Colin Croft pretty chest on. Procter and Cairns wrong foot. Murali threw the bloody thing. Can they bat, can they bowl? Stop justifying an era of coaches who produce nothing and keep in circulation.
I still say technique isnt everything. You are only pushing them further deep Naz. Yes they are unorthodox, but their state of mind needs to be checked cuz burns Sibley crawley all played well at different times and tougher conditons. But havent fired as a group in a game, i think they are building up for smtg, churring them is only gonna intensify problems, not solving
But in the recent times, English batting's gone more Unorthodox then ever.. Especially the test team.. May be these are the side effects of winning ODI WC.. India went through similar crisis
@@anandbakshi4391 England need consistent batsmen for that you need to back the talent. On international stage a small hole in a perfect technique can be exploited, soo its matter of improvement. If current set of players have potential they should be backed
