I love my Janome Sewist! I started quilting about a year ago doing "quilt as you go". Baby quilts to a full /queen size quilt from piecing, quilting, assembling the rows and binding . Handled it all!
good video but surprised you did not say to thread the machine with the foot up, even though yours was, it is one thing as a beginner that can get the thread tension wrong, if up the thread can go between the tension disc, down the thread can miss the tension discs and mess up the tension on the stitches
Very good information about the machines, thank you. I would like to ask if you could get rid of the music in future videos though, it’s very distracting and unnecessary when someone is trying to talk.
I really appreciate this video, Thanks. I have been looking for a second sewing machine with more features. This video has explained how to use the stretch stitch, auto threader, & dropping the feed dogs, for quilting. I'm a quilter, & I'm learning to applique. I have a very basic Brother sewing machine presently. I thank you so much. I may go with the Brother computerized sewing machine.👍🤞💞
YAY 10 is stretch stitch. For some reason I found it hard to find stretch stitch in the book. For my skin I go for cotton jersey fabric. Number 10! Ty for sharing.
I've been using grandma's sewing machine with manual pedal, so I'm not a beginner sewist, but I want to buy my first portable sewing machine , I've been contemplating btween this brother or singer 4432,which one do you think is better? Anyway I love your video
What can you teach me about the sort of needle for types of material we use. And what you use them for. Also can you show me how to do a button hole. Also I want to get a machine for all types of things. Can you help me please?
Hi Tania, we have a video for 'all round' sewing and also 'beginners' if one of these fit you feel free to check out our blog here: www.thesewingstudio.co.uk/blog/best-sewing-machine We will consider a video for types of needles and their uses. Also a colleague of ours, Isla, made a how to video for bound buttonholes here: th-cam.com/video/wd7NCjUJS6s/w-d-xo.html Hopefully this will help.

Really interesting and helpful video. Will you be doing anything similar for a basic machine for quilting or would you recommend these also?
Hi Eleanor. We will be releasing our best sewing machine for quilting very soon!
Do you need to oil the sewing machine? If so where? Thank you and merry Christmas to you all xoxoxoxo.
