@angeliarrichardson777: I agree with you. I had a house with a fridge next to a wall like that and it was a pain to pull out the shelves and drawers because the door only opened so far against the wall. But Ms. Anna has excellent taste and ideas so she will come up with what works best for her.
Ernie and Anna Congratulations on your retirement home!! It's gorgeous and the community is gorgeous! I would do your way on the Island and Ernies suggestion on the pantry. I small hutch would be nice next to the back door to display dishes . Can't wait to follow along.on your new journey. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Anna, I would not add a built-in island. You should look online and buy a butcher block island on wheels that lock with storage underneath. That way you can turn it around in any direction you want to. Any when you have guest over you can place it against a wall when you need the room to walk around in your kitchen. The home will be lovely but as you age all that land will become harder to maintain. Yes, you are in great health with no walking disabilities but I as a nurse I would be concerned about all the steps in the garage and the front porch. I do realize you could enter on your back patio. I know you are excited, and you will make your home beautiful.
If you do the pantry by the fridge, option 2. If you do the pantry by the counter & back door, option 1. If you put the pantry by the fridge, it will take up part of the floor space. The island being option 2 will still leave an open space to walk around. If you put it the other way then you won't have much room to walk around the island & the pantry. If you put the pantry by the back door then the island position can go either way.
I would install your pantry first and see how much room you have left before you put in an island. It might be a tight squeeze either way but you could measure it to see which way fits best! Your house is beautiful and I know you are going to make it yours and comfy and cozy! I can’t wait to watch you guys make it more beautiful! 😊 So excited for you Anna.
Did you have this built? Or did you buy already built? Reason I was asking is you didn’t like some of the finishes and if you have it built you usually have a choice of finishes. Just curious!
You could do like my best friend had her builder do. Rollers that lock and unlock. She loved it because it allowed her more versatility. Love the floor plan 💕
So exciting new furniture, planning and styling the new home..I love the open concept of the floor plan..for the island I would say option 1, but only after you get the pantry placement done. Either way its gonna be beautiful. Your measuring spoons from Paula Dean will be beautiful on the counter tops. I love the countertops myself. Enjoy ever moment of the new home. ❤😊
Anna, I think it is beautiful, it is going to be so fun to watch how you turn it into a home. I long to be living back out in the country again. I’m thinking you guys will move out there sooner than planned. You are absolutely glowing. I would get a couple of outdoor cats, and a dog. Have you guys ever had a dog or cat?
Thank you! Yes, we had to our our last dog down and it broke us. We vowed we'd never go through that again. But, we are getting a dog for this property. I'd love cats!
Good morning, love the cottage, I can't wait for you to give it your beautiful touch. Now as for the island I think option 1. Have a wonderful day you and Ernie.
So beautiful, love the floor!! Love how everything us open. I would put the island coming from the wall, if your putting double door pantry, on the wall near refrigerator, and a island in middle of kitchen, I would think you wouldn't have much space to move around....lived the home turn, happy ir you both. Can't wait until you start decorating.. .gwen
Oh Anna....what a beautiful home. I am so very happy for you both. The grandchildren will have a blast visiting your both and having all the room to run around and play outside. Let the fun begin.
Love the floor plan, love the ideas, shiplap, built ins. Kitchen, I would relocate fridge to end of cabinets(I don’t like fridge opening to wall). I would then build pantry where refrigerator is now w pull out shelving. Island horizontal, so the food prep person can talk with people at table, not stare at wall, plus your back would be to natural light coming in window. lol just my non designer opinion. lol
This is gonna be so much fun for ALL of us! You & Ernie are going to be like kids in a candy store with all the fun DIY's you're gonna do to your new home. I can't wait to see how you'll decorate. Love the color of the floors, and that bathroom mirror is beautiful! I think I'm w/Ernie on the placement of the island. It allows better access if you ever do a buffett style dinner for everyone to access. Love your floorpan btw!
Maybe have an island initially on castors and you can try both orientations and once you know which works best for you remove castors and fix it to floor?
Anna, I predict you will move there sooner than you think. I’m just picturing what all you will do to the outside. You will turn it into a beautiful surroundings to the house. Congratulations. Love in Christ BTW drum roll please. All hurricane repairs are finished! What a long process from July 8. Please lord no more hurricanes for a while
Love the interior. Nice size for your weekend and future home. Can’t wait for you to put your touches on it. I vote for option 1 for the island. Enjoy your day.
Your house is beautiful ❤️ i agree your office in the front with a beautiful front yard view and your kitchen with that back yard view its perfect ,congrats to you Anna and your husband
The inside is beautiful as well and cannot wait to see you put your magical touches everywhere. This journey is going to be so much fun! I cannot wait to see it all transform!!
Kitchen Island Option 1 (sorry Ernie I got to agree with Anna on this one 😊) absolutely love your new home So excited for you guys!! It’s going to be stunning once you put your own touch and make it a home ❤
Congratulations on your new country home! It's beautiful and the views are stunning. I love the layout and look forward to how you will decorate and the property transformation. Best wishes and much happiness to you and Ernie. (my apologies for the late congratulations, I had watched the videos on the television and couldn't comment right away)
Move fridge perhaps to blank wall with pantry cupboards around it and you will have more space around stove, since you will be replacing g granite tops. Have fun. From central Nebraska 😊
❤ your new home! Happy for you both! I like the granite color surrounding the guest bathroom mirror, for the kitchen countertop. I do like the idea of double pantry that's ceiling height. Did I see one kitchen cabinet had crown molding but not the others? Another viewer had suggested relocating fridge to other end of cabinets. I agree, hate opening fridge door unto a wall. Hmm so many decisions. Island? Yes. Orientation not sure, depends on how area is left after building dbl pantry. What fun we'll have watching your vision come alive!
WOW!!!! What a gorgeous home! I love all of your ideas! I can't wait to see it all come together. I would go with option 1, but I know whatever you do it will look fabulous! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations, Anna and Ernie! That countryside in Tennessee is so beautiful. My husband and I lived on a 100-acre ranch in California, and he bought a 26-acre ranchette in Montana many years ago. Both were gorgeous! (For me, I was petrified of the field mice as it is indeed a childhood phobia. The peace and quiet was amazing.)
Anna you look so happy I am so happy for the two of you! That home has a lot of room! I love what you plan to do with your weekend or forever home! As far as the island I think Ernie’s idea for the island would work better if you put a pantry on the one wall, you would have more room. Again congratulations!
I think option 2 with the island that way you can do bar stools. Love the new home! There is absolutely nothing like living in the country….you’re going to ❤it!
Looks so pretty, homey!! I am also having a house built, supposedly going to be done the middle of January!!! I'm excited too! There with you!!!You will make it awesome!!!! Excited about what you do!!!!
Goodday Heyllo Anna I just went outside and came back in and you both have purchased a country cottage. This is sooo cool To be able to fullfill your dreams.Just like that Enjoy the country crisp fresh air.Yes and tell Ernie it will be ok to buy that orher land on top of that hill Yes fence it all in cause baby you dont want to see anyone trashy yards. That the only thing about country living is other ppl junk be all over their land which is not attractive....Anna and Ernie will have beautiful spaces and cant wait to see the garden beds to come...Again Congratulations now back to the videos I have to catch up
My only question is, if you build your pantry on that interior wall and install a island, will there be enough space to pull your fridge in & out when it’s time to replace it for a new one?? I’m thinking your pantry should be on your kitchen window wall. And your new country cottage is quite charming!😊
Sorry I didn't get the color name. I will soon!❤
Option 1 and switching the fridge to the area over by the back door and putting the pantry where the fridge is will keep the space open.
Thank you!
@@homeandgardenwithanna It’s a nice home. I can’t wait to see the changes you make.
Exactly what I was thinking - move the fridge, it looks weird where it is right now.💕
@babss.6918 i think it's perfect where it's at!😊
@angeliarrichardson777: I agree with you. I had a house with a fridge next to a wall like that and it was a pain to pull out the shelves and drawers because the door only opened so far against the wall. But Ms. Anna has excellent taste and ideas so she will come up with what works best for her.
Definitely option #1 and move the refrigerator to the other side of the kitchen next to the back door and put a pantry where the refrigerator is now.
I can’t wait to see Ernie’s talent for the fireplace!! Again congratulations you two love birds!!
Thank you!
I love it, beautiful. I pick option 1. Have a beautiful day!
Thank you!
Beautiful , so happy for you. I know how much you love decorating.
Thank you!
Nice new house! Looking forward to see what you do.

Very nice home! I, too, live in the Tennessee countryside and love it! So excited for you!
Awe, love that! Thank you!

Thank you and yes!
Beautiful 🎉so happy for you guys! Option one for island.
Thank you!

Thank you!
Beautiful & so exciting! Can't wait to watch and see what you and Ernie do with your new home inside and outside. Happy for the both of you! 😀😀
Oops. Forgot to say option 1.
Thank you so much!
Woooo! Love your house and the windows too! We have real hardwood in our new place and love it! I bet you’re excited to pick out new furniture!
I am!
I would install your pantry first and see how much room you have left before you put in an island. It might be a tight squeeze either way but you could measure it to see which way fits best!

I'm not moving the fridge. It's perfect where it's at. It wouldn't look good anywhere else to be honest. Guess camera didn't show that.
This is the only plan that will give you enough space for both a pantry and an island
Beautiful, enjoy
Thank you!
Love the fireplace idea
😊🥰
Beautiful!!! I love the inside!!!! Yay!!! I can’t wait to see what you do!!! ❤
Thank you so much!!
I can’t wait to watch you transform this to your own. Big enough to be comfortable but not overwhelming.

Option 1. Love your new home! I know you and Ernie will make it cozy and beautiful. Enjoy 🎉 congratulations!
Thank you!
I’d do office facing front
It a good blank slate. I love the floors and the views are pretty.
YES! Thank you!
I agree with your thoughts on island option 1. A smaller home will be plenty for you to care for. Just lovely. Love the floors too!
Thank you!
So pretty inside too. I like your way with the island better.
Thank you!
Option 1 would give you the most space. I am so looking forward to all of the upcoming videos on you transforming your new home! ❤
Thank you!
Your new place is so nice! I can't wait to see what you and Ernie do with it. So exciting!!!❤
I pick option 1.

Beautiful!! Number 1 for island!!
Thank you!
Love it!❤
Thank you!
Congratulations on your new home!! Can't wait for all your decorating videos. I think island #1 would be the best choice 😊

Option 1, for sure!
TY!
