  • These were specially recorded interviews from the Salford recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue - Live on Stage.
    This is a tribute to the late and great 'Sir' Humphrey Littleton, who died 19 days after the making of this show.
    He actually turned down his offer of a knighthood but no better tribute than to remember him at his best!
    Recorded from the Lyric Theatre, Lowry Centre, Salford on Sunday 6th April 2008, this is I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue - Live: The self-styled antidote to panel games.
    Starring Humphrey Littleton, Graeme Garden, Tim Brooke-Taylor, Barry Cryer and Jeremy Hardy with Colin Sell at the piano and scorer, Samantha.
    Produced and directed by Jon Naismith. An edited version was broadcast on 13th September 2008 on BBC4.
    (c) Ransom Entertainment 2008 for which no copyright infringement is intended. Any problems with this posting, please let me know and I will immediately remove it, otherwise I post this both as a tribute to "Humph" and as a long time lover of this great show. If you enjoyed this, please rate and comment. Thanks.

    Jeremy is a scream in this. I went to see ISIHAC in 2016 with Jeremy standing in for Graeme, who was'nt well at the time. The whole show was priceless.
    RIP Willy, Humph, Jeremy and now Timbo. All sadly missed.

    Genius
    Ive been listening to you since birth.
    Around the wireless with my family in south London in the 60's.
    In the 70s 80s and 90s I was still listening while in the RAF.
    Still very leg wetting in 2022.

      Nothing wrong with Jack!

      @paul68z 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m afraid I agree. The problem with Jack is that he is a great comedian being a comedian. Humph was not a comedian trying to be funny.

      @@paul68z Yes ,Humph was a touring jazz musician most of his life ,he had seen and heard it all before,always felt that he would rather be playing his trumpet, so droll ,sadly missed.

    Dear Rolf, Very clever people. All very much loved and adored. Much Missed, British intelligent humour at its best. Putting the British Motor Industry were it is today. In a shed in Shanghai. Yours truly Mrs Trellis.

    I loved it for Humph's filthy humour and the way he delivered it.

      Yeah so deadpan - as if he didn't understand what people were laughing at or finding funny.

    Look at that little twinkle in Humph's eyes as he claims it's the filthy minds of others that see innuendo in what he reads. Priceless. Humph, you are terribly missed.

    Loved the introductions at the start of the shows about the town they were in.

      I totally agree, Peter. I loved all those too. The recorded one (filmed in Salford) had lots of great jokes about Bolton, Manchester etc. Unfortunately after being up for ages, they decided to delete it based on copyright, even though it hasn't been on sale (ie the DVD) since about 2009 or whenever it was. :(

    Regarding team members getting the giggles there are two instances I always remember. Both occasions it was one of Humph's narratives about Lionel Blair ("not being allowed the use of his mouth to finish off Two Gentlemen of Verona" or something). Sandi Toksvig completely corpsed and went on laughing and laughing. Phil Jupitus did the same on the other occasion.

      Thanks for the insight/memory @knappa22 - just a shame they took down the show after so long. :( Wonder why they left this? Still glad they did.

    Got a ticket to see I'm sorry I haven't a clue today, as its coming to my neck of the North Wales woods on the 24th January. Sadly Humph is no longer around, I'd love to have seen him. Looking forward to seeing a fave comic of mine Jeremy Hardy, especially his singing.

    • @NickJay
      @NickJay  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Excellent, Barry. Enjoy it. Hope you get to see a couple of recordings as I daresay they do more than one? Very sad Humph is no longer around. I daresay Jack Dee does well and whilst I've not heard him as host, just lost interest once Humph had sadly passed away. As for Jeremy Hardy's singing, make sure you buy some decent ear plugs first! lol

    • @ysplse
      @ysplse 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick honestly I thought auntie would call it a day on the show when Humph sadly passed away. And couldn't imagine Jack Dee doing it. But as there was never going to be any replacement, Dee manages in his own way to be well himself. With this tour for me Jeremy Hardy is worth the price of the ticket and his singing is priceless.

    I only became familiar with ISIHAC a few months after the passing of Humph, there are fewer hosts worthy of fronting any show than him. Excellent show too.

    Does anyone know where the video of them all live on stage has gone? I can’t find it anywhere 😢

    • @NickJay
      @NickJay  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately after some while of having the video up without issue, they decided to put in a copyright infringement/claim without mentioning it to me and TH-cam took it down. :( Shame and yet they left this one alone for some reason - maybe they missed it, who knows. Personally I'd prefer they got rid of this one and left the live on stage one alone. Sorry about that.

    Wasn't there a video filmed of them making this episode?

    • @NickJay
      @NickJay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but sadly, after such a long time of having it here available, BBC Worldwide and/or the producers of the DVD decided to file a copyright breach against it/me and consequently, TH-cam took it down. Considering it's not available to buy now and was published many years ago, I didn't understand it. Very sad but weird they decided to leave this one intact!

    • @porcini_boy

      Nick Jay Such a shame, I really enjoyed watching it, especially Tim singing Uptown Top Ranking. Thanks for uploading it in the first place though.

    • @NickJay
      @NickJay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks and yes it was a shame considering how long it had been up and the pleasure given to a lot of people plus in loving memory of Humph of course. If it was still available and on sale, perhaps I could understand them not wanting it up but sorry I didn't get it then and still don't and then they leave these interviews. Odd. :)
