I would like to see dedicated cooktop exhaust system.
“ telescoping stainless steel downdraft range hood”
It would keep vehicle cleaner and you would not lose all your heat.
I am shocked that nobody has implemented this yet. Seems kind of obvious to me.

In 1986 I brought a new VW Westfalia Camper Weekender package $16,000. Good milage. Had a pop up roof and rear seat that converted to a bed. Simple, not over crowded, decent milage, also doubled as the family car it could seat six. I wish VW had continued that line, these vans are nice but pricy. Its' easy to want everything - but realistically how much do you really need. When I travel, I do not want to sit isolated in the woods, I like to be where there are plenty of restaurants, people, and stimulus, but be able to escape for a few hours or overnight for some solitude.

This!!’ I’ve been looking for a campervan that can seat 6 people! I’m watching all this videos that can sleep 4-6 but doesn’t see where they seat with seatbelts? Not looking for van life but some occasional weekend getaway with the whole family.

The Ford Big Nugget has a different Concept than other Camper Vans and RV's. Its build by Westfalia, but this stays in the background, because the Big Nugget is sold only over the FORD Dealerships. That means, for the total service of the hole Camper Van you can go to any 🇪🇺 Ford Dealer and Service Stations.
Westfalia will bring a own version of the big nugget under a new westfalia name for the summer season 2021.
Another thing is, it is hard to compare 🇺🇸 American and 🇪🇺 Europen Camper Vans. The only chassis that has a worldwide standart is the sprinter. Ford, Fiat/Pro-Master, Renault, Iveco are build for their special America, Europe, Australia Marked and get often no registration in the other countries and their technical specs is totally different.

Why not make a van with a dry bath for a single traveler? Ie switch the dinette into a fold down table for one and remove the extra seat, incorporating that room into the bathroom. Also a Murphy bed or a 'lift' bed would free up space underneath for a small couch/lounge area. Just my thoughts

    • @mindseyedesign
      @mindseyedesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The keyword here is "used." I suggest almost the same thing when I see a viewer comments about a featured item being "over-priced." Any camper in this video will drop in price considerably once used, or even last year's model. I considered buying a campervan a few years back and had my eye on one for around $100k. It was out of my price range, but I really loved that camper, and I wanted to live a piece of that #vanlife we see everyone hashtagging about.
I considered dropping the lease payment and going for it because I loved all the bells and whistles, the brand new modern design, the fancy Vegan leather seats, the USB ports that lit up. Most importantly, it had a full wet bath and every possible living in a van need. I've seen so many campers the last few years on this channel that I can no longer even remember the model name or company who made it. Seeing thousands of campers within a few years does that, I guess.
Okay, back to my story and eventual point.
Despite what looked to be a far better commission for him, the dealer kept pushing a massive 35ft Class C motorhome on me. His sales pitch was highlighted by the words, brand new, four times the size, sleeps up to eight, 1/3 the price, driving it you can see everything because you are 10fft up in the air looking through a drive-in screen size windshield, he almost had me when he offered the extra "free" cupholders though, but I kept my poker face and didn't budge an inch.
I remember telling myself there would be no impulsive 35ft Class C motorhome buying on this day. That was a massive step for me. Trust me on that.
The never-used motorhome was only $40,000 because it was three years old, huge, no one seemed to want it at any price. Most everyone knows car dealers make more selling used vehicles than selling the latest models. Because the motorhome was taking up vast amounts of the lot space, it was no surprise that could be a reason to want it gone. I had no intention of buying or interest in it. The salesman's sad stories, crocodile tears, and desperate last sales attempt offering his firstborn child along with his earlier extremely generous free cupholder throw-in never once tempted me.
My reasons for no interest. The thing was far too large for me to enjoy the drive from location to location.
Way higher storage fees and lot rent.
I don't have eight friends. I vanished years ago, and very few have seen me since I dedicated every hour each day to this channel.
The motorhome was butt ugly compared to my pipe dream, never going to happen, wishful thinking, maybe in ten years #vanlife off-grid vehicle of choice.
Why do you think no one else bought that motorhome?
Why do campervans cost more than a colossal motorhome that sleeps more friends and family you would ever trust in one place together?
I don't think it is reasonable to compare the cost of a 2022 luxury campervan to a used Class C motorhome and use that as an example of why you believe the campervan is over-priced.
Like everything else, it all boils down to what that specific person shopping can afford vs. what they need.
Every camper and vehicle loses massive value once it's considered "used." So I think it's safe to say just waiting for last year's model will offer significant discounts as well.
The RV industry is booming, contributing over 100 billion dollars annually to the economy. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, but for any camper company to over-price its inventory in a very competitive market would be a horrible decision. They risk going out of business and not having any sales.
I see the over-priced comment, every video, every subject, and for every price range.
And I disagree with almost all of them for some of the reasons I stated above.
Most importantly, in 2018, the hashtag #vanlife was used around 6 million times on Instagram.

Wow,way too expensive for the average enthusiasts or unwitting buyer. Just about all motor coaches are made from pieces and parts and or left overs from other builds I've only seen similarity in every coach I've done repair work for the last 16 years there no cookie cutter coaches like I began with way too expensive for the economy we have presently in my opinion. They are nice though.

The Ekko from Winnebago that you mention confused me, because the pics you posted and noted say sleeps 4, two in the rear twin beds and two in the converted dinette, however the ‘pic’ when describing the dinette appears to be of a Murphy bed and a different rig altogether. Please update or clarify. The Ekko may very well sleep 4, but that pic is misleading when it’s not available in the same floor plan as the rear twin bed model.

My thought too. The fold out bed at 1:21 is clearly not in that RV. It's in a far bigger one that has a slide out section.

With these prices, it is a thousand times cheaper to buy a used van and set it up yourself. You can arrange the set-up according to your tastes, you can choose what to install and what not to install, you can give up the portholes on the roof and install 4 new generation sunpower solar panels of 600 w each and be completely energy autonomous, with electric cookers , hot water, hot and cold air conditioner, without ever spending money, just water and diesel to refuel. If the energy is not enough, it is possible to install additional removable photovoltaic panels, superimposed on the existing ones, to be used when the vehicle is stopped. The cost of all this would be incredibly lower if you choose a non-4x4 vehicle

A thousand times cheaper? So, your going with a scrap yard special then. Some shag carpet from a garage sale, a 5 gallon bucket and spray bottle for a wetroom, who needs Triple A after all? No upkeep necessery for this 1k mobile palace, fully unloaded, and for a GPS you can just follow the oil leak trails from town to town. I think you sold me on this idea, under one condition. I can't live without an AM radio on long road trips, so that's one perk I would need included. Obviously, I'm just joking with you here. Having said that, I would love to see your super value build when complete, and promise to feature it in a future video.

It would be a dream to be able to give you a demonstration, but unfortunately I don't have the money, otherwise I would have already started to set up a maxi 4x4 Dangel ducato, which new costs about 45,000 euros the best set up
However, in Italy it is full of fitters who already transform vans into campers, I myself am a furniture builder, and therefore I could do a good part of the work myself !!! for sure you will need experts in other fields, but rest assured that it would cost at least 30/40% less than those shown in your video, and still having everything included in the set-up !!!
It would be a 4x4 with pneumatic reinforced suspension (2000 euros), new, water tanks increased, as I am also a very good welder I would make myself a grill with an electric motor on the roof that takes out Sunpower solar panels of 625w each, (4/6 5000/7500 euro panels) mounted one above the other to be used when the camper is stationary, 4 new generation lithium batteries (about 6000 euro), and a 5 kw inverter (1500 euro) I would totally eliminate the gas, and for emergencies a 4.5 kw electricity generator from agrieuro, (900 euros) in short .... I can guarantee you that my camper van would be an overlander vehicle with a price that does not exceed 70,000 80,000 euros almost completely autonomous

I am loving this Mercedes Sprinter at 12:00 but the price of 148.680.-USD is so typically USAmerican and totally overpriced. The Sprinter I can buy for under 40k so 108,000.-USD just for material and works? get real. Thats why so many companies leaving and let cheaper countries do the labour
