I haven’t tested the volar but at 900$, they aren’t really in the same space. Those have bigger pads, bigger pistons and I’m sure probably more stopping power than Lewis does. Volar sport is probably good if you are running high kw bike like something 15kw+
I just ordered the EP8’s if you can please cover them in a upcoming vid I can’t decide if I wanna do a LHT and a foot brake combo or just a EP8 I’m so mad they don’t make a double mounting bracket for the foot brake with the EP8’s 😭😭
I think two ep8s would cook the rotor😂 but I’ll do my best to see what I can do. The bracket they make now is so big I don’t think they’d have room for another but you never know 😂. You might have some luck running 2 ep6s. Or a lht and a ep6 combo for the footbrake (this is what i will likely do at some point).
@@momentswithreese true I forgot about the EP6 but that’s also a big boy brake and I don’t think they fab mounts for a double brake yet anywhere hopefully in the future they do but I think the EP8 single as a handbrake will be enough for me

The Maven caliper is only $91, $180 for a set, I assume way more piston and pad material. Excited to see the supermoto set, do you have any plans on power / controller upgrades for the rerode or need to keep saving for the van build?
I asked Lewis about a caliper only and they don’t offer that yet but maybe if they get enough interest, they’ll offer it. As far as power goes I’m really happy with where it’s at but there’s a company I’ve been talking to for a couple months that might be changing that. Nothing official yet but power is definitely on the table. The van definitely remains top of mind as my jeep is struggling to stay alive😂😂😂 Hoping the tires come in this weekend. It so I’ll have a video up in two weeks on them. I’m so impatiently waiting😂
For a stock xxx absolutely it would be a great pairing! Nice that the xxx already comes with 220 rotors. The lh4s grab really well and the lever feels really good in the hand.

For shipping times they are working on speeding things up and to be fair before we placed the order, they did tell me it would be 4-5 weeks so I appreciated the transparency. That number should be coming down now that we are a month removed from Chinese new years.

I'm confused. Since about 70% of the braking is done by the front brake, why is the most powerful brake, ep8, only for the back.
I never heard of the 70% thing because I primarily use the rear. The ep8 is too big for the front fork but their ep6 will fit the front

The LH4 and LHTs are sold as a set both front and back but the ep8 is a rear brake only. Lewis also has a ep6 that can go on the front and back.

The lewis 6 piston and 8 piston, the volar brakes, and the SRAM mavens all have me super interested as they all look super powerful
Those should all be good options⚡️. Brakes are just so dang pricey lol
