to me, the end result looks fine, but I think I would not have used that bright yellow base layer. I think a tan base layer would have been easier to deal with, quite possibly not needed the second coat.
One thing he did get right was to do or paint between where the panels meet in the segments. I don't know why he missed the whole wood grain directional thing? That would seriously bother me, I have Asperger's. That would drive me nuts.
One thing I've learned from these TH-cam instructional videos if you watch three or four you will get a little bit of good stuff from each one of them and none of them stands on their own the best.
*1* What exactly are you applying for the KNOTS?
*2* What "hurts" the overall finished look, is you had no VERTICAL grain.

I was thinking the same thing.
Excellent work!
What's the point in choosing the door if you're going to spray grease all over it?
Looks great!
Nice job! Thanks for posting
Great work! How much would you charge for that garage door
Basic wood look like this video $200
Real detailed wood looking $800
What a mess
You painted the grain strokes in the wrong direction in between the panels. The strokes should have been vertical on these.
All of the grain is traveling on a horizontal direction on this door and you should follow the grain.
to me it looks like the door is stamped with a 'fake grain' that runs entirely left to right. Where are you seeing the fake grain running vertical?
You're correct cause if built with real wood in between the panels would have run vertical 🎯
yeah but its his garage and if you really look at 10:30 it looks good
My dude up close is no bueno…think the grain directions messed it up

Yes that would be a good idea to make it look even better. With this dark color thankfully people usually don't notice.
This time I will do it manually with the help of woodglut designs.
30 footer at best
Sorry, but it looks like a streaky paint job. Using a wood grain tool might have produced a better result for my taste.
This guy clearly has no clue.
Holy F**k! One of the worst jobs I’ve ever seen. I wish people would stop doing videos that they know nothing about.
I hate to be negative, but that looks so bad. Did you do it again?
This looks horrible.
This just proves that If you have a British accent, you can sell anything to an American.
It's a swing and a miss imo.
Do people actually payed for that🧐🤨🤔
Lmfao dont do that to your door people please
This door voted for Joe Biden
Looks bad lmao. Just hire someone to wrap your door vinyl wood pattern
Looks like poop imo........seen some amazing artists do this and you couldn't tell
Just awful…..
