I use both, depending on the setting and the system. On my main setup, both the CD player and streamer are connected to an external DAC for optimal sound quality. My secondary system, located in the sunroom, features a Raspberry Pi streamer with a DAC HAT, connected to the system via RCA cables. In the bedrooms, where sound quality is less of a priority, everything runs on Bluetooth for simplicity.
Thank you, as excellent explanation video, that has answered most of current needs to set up speakers in my kitchen as oppose using an MS Surf-Pro Laptop connected directly to a sound bar plus I was a teacher, lecturer, trainer and presenter of IT thus sadly the quality of people such as you choosing to present a technical is very poor.
When using the Lightning to mini-jack adapter on the iPhone, a DAC inside the adapter is used because the signal from the Lightning port is digital. Also, as far as I know all Bluetooth receivers have a built-in DAC because the received signal is digital.
Yes all BT receivers that have RCA or AUX out have a DAC. And all BT receivers have RCAs or AUX out :) I find it funny that Chy-Com manufacturers advertise " Bluetooth receiver with DAC" yea... Duh. Oh well. Thanks for your comment. Cheers
Hi, do you by chance know of any available and maintained LDAC list of Android devices ? It appears that NOT all Android tablets offer LDAC codec built in.
The encoder part of LDAC is free, so basically any device with Android 8+ should have it, unless the manufacturer for some reason decided to exclude it or maybe started including it at a later date so higher Android version would be required.
