This is the first death bass cover I ever saw, right as I was getting into them in grade 10. Really made me realize how badass the bass parts were and just the overall amazing technicality of the music, great job man
@@KutOnBass easily lost well said, few days of break from playing bass for me means I have not only not progressed but actually taken a step back haha! But I'm nowhere near your level, maybe in a few years time. How long have you been playing? And your tone is amazing, sounds like you have a heavy attack on the strings? This is why I was impressed, it's one thing to play fast but to do it with that tone is something else
I've been playing for around 20 years now, and yes I have a heavy attack which is good and not depending on the style and the bass setup too. Always experiment with what works for you, keep practicing.
+Sara Pajic \m/ hey, i hope that this video can help, you can slow it down and figure it out, it's not a hard song to learn, try it and if you have a part that's giving you trouble give me a buzz.
Yes, too many notes. Now shut up for a sec, listen and learn something that you actually can feel proud of knowing for a fact. Don't forget to thank me afterwards: For starters, for anyone with an ear, he's obviously using more notes than the original song. Despite being a fact, this alone doesn't mean anything. Now, on my opinion of it being 'too many', know that on a ''typical'' metal mix (you should know about that, since you're welcoming to the genre), the bass actually appears LESS if you use more notes. You create a percussive effect in this tradeoff, that's true, but it only works in this particular case because it's a cover and the bass is much louder than it would be in a proper mix (unless you're very naive to believe otherwise). Fact is, if you don't let the string maintain its sustain, the ''feel'' part of the bass tone WILL be gone, and WILL BE swallowed up in the mix by the drums and the high frequency part of the guitar spectrum. It's very old news, tried and true and always the case unless you're doing some experimental stuff with untypical guitar and drum tones for metal (e.g. Gorguts on their last 2 albums). This has also been thoroughly discussed between pros (just to name a few, Dave Ellefson, Frank Bello, Even Brewer - metal bassists, all of them) thousands of times. It may be surprising to you, but that's just because you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Try harder next time.
You absolutely destroyed this cover, amazing playing!
This was the cover that inspired me to pick up the bass almost a year ago. Thanks man

Do have this with out the track? Just you to tempo?

Awesome cover dude :D I'm trying to learn it right now, but I took my tabs from songsterr :/ I hope they fit at least half as good as yours :p
sonsgsterr is not a good tab site, it helps in rythim tho
How are you able to play those 16th notes with fingers?? And with such aggressive tone?? Man, amazing job!
Practice practice, speed is easily gained as well as lost hehe, but nothing a couple of days of hard work won't fix.

So it's Drop C?
Super old comment, I know, but it's D standard (DGCF) for anyone else that might be wondering.
what the amp do you have sir ? :)
This is connected via an MXR M80 DI direct to Mbox mini2, but my amp is an Ibanez sound wave 65
lml
what is your tuning?
Adie MN D standard
hi have you tried with the flat wound string? is it ok to play with metal?
good tone, but too many notes
