Vang seems to have a lot of land around her and she is growing lots of things in her garden and she could maybe keep some animals like chickens and ducks and even goats and pigs it would help her have more things to sell st the market i am surprised that vang has not got a doctor out yet

She will not get better if she does not see a doctor and they find out what is wrong with her if it is her blood pressure then she just needs medication and she will be alright and these two girls need a education if they want to get on in life and get good jobs and help vang when she is older and she will not have to work so hard
If things is where they live ehy is there only one bed and no other furniture it is bound to have table and chairs and even a bench and another ned for that bed is too small for the three of them i would have thought that vang would have got the doctor by now and it is these little girls who have to worry you her now

PLEASE do not be too harsh on Vang Ly. She isn’t selfish, doctors cost a lot in Vietnam. Before, she was single, now she has 2 extra mouths to feed. She is just like some of us, hoping to get better after resting a few days, rather than spending a lot of money on doctors. The little one she took in was very badly treated by a vicious grandmother who hardly gave her anything to eat, worked her like a slave without mentioning being beaten up. This kind lady also gave a home to the older girl - just tell me how could you come to the conclusion that she is a selfish woman. Some of us Vietnamese, might be poor like Vang Ly, but we put family first before others. Vietnamese dong isn’t of height value, just selling whatever we harvest or find in the forest do not earn that much to have the luxury of a doctor’s consultation whenever we are sick., sometimes a couple of pills will have to do. Just don’t be too judgmental without knowing the true facts/hardship of being poor. Come to Vietnam and see for yourself.
