I wasn't able to get enough ducted fans to lift all the fuel required, and when I increased the number of fan setups, it just got heavier and heavier... ...then there's the problem of the massive dV requirement to get back to Earth from low Venusian orbit...

It's certainly theoretically possible, especially if you abuse ion engines for most of the vacuum moons. I'm pretty sure you could even do it completely reusable; all you would need is a massive ion-powered tanker, a general vacuum moon lander, and a few specialized landers.

I believe I used RSSVE with the 16k textures. I tried to get Parallax working with RSS but I couldn't get the config to properly apply.
