About blocking; it's bugged to hell. Blocking an attack also always causes your next attack to miss, without exception. If you keep left-click (attack) pressed while blocking, especially when surrounded, you may end up never hitting anything. So it's not just the blocking frame recovery. One can realise the importance of this, when one considers skills like Zeal or Fend, where an entire sequence of attacks miss, if one does not stop attacking immediately after blocking. Blizzard never fixed this, of course... Blind Target doesn't just reduce the monsters' sight radius. It also prevents mages from casting spells. Very useful for a Necromancer wanting to protect his minions from, say, a Hak'u Shaman's fiery breath or a Cantor's blizzard.
I'm Mfing with this in the background, and literally moments after you mentioned that Pindle can drop a spiderweb sash but not an Arachnid Mesh, Meph dropped me my first ever Arach Mesh :P
~46:29 The Chance Guards calculation only makes sense if you somehow start with 10 defense. So I looked it up and apparently if you have enhanced defense % on any item, it will always count it as having the max base defense + 1. So Chain Gloves can normally have 8-9 defense, therefore it's counted as having 10 defense. You can get 20-30% ED on them. If you get 20-29% ED, they will have 27 defense total (it always rounds down). If you get 30%, they will have 28. I don't think this applies to upping them though.
Most underrated comment. The video itself is awesome, but imo this was the only part with a mistake. Especially, that there was a guy in chat who had written the same formula (ed gives maxdef+1 always). And sadly yes... with his Balrog Skin example, it was seen that this factor vanishes after upping (it whould have converted to 1388def). So he was right about that.
@@sdave89 unique items with %ED always spawn with the max def possible for the base item. when you up an item from exception to elite (or normal to exceptional) it randomizes the defense roll of the base item, and then adds the ED. 98 def is max for magefists, FYI.
Small correction: you should always max telekinesis with Energy Shield. With lvl20 TK you get a multiplier of 0.75, which is essenciall 25% DR to mana.
37:50 technically incorrect, there was an eth bug before 1.10 that we used in 09 which involved an eth item having a zod rune socketed in 08, before 09 socketing a zod removed the internal durability stat. If you removed zod afterwards you'd have an eth bugged item that instead of getting the double dipping defense bonus was just eth and indestructible, so players could use it. People duped tons of eth bugged arreats and swords for fury runewords.
this is correct. they reapplied the etherial status to an item that had a zod rune removed with the cube recipe. this process indirectly created the higher defense socket cube recipe to roll a random amount of sockets. Also, the max sockets that an item can have dictates the % chance of a certain number of sockets for, say, an armor. it's 25% chance for 1,2,3,4 sockets. not a 1/6 chance for 1,2,3 or 3/6 chance for 4 sockets.
Regarding chancies @49:30 -- Whenever an item has enhanced defense, the item always has max base defense. Archon plate def range is 410 to 524. If an archon plate has 5% ED, it will ALWAYS have 550 def (524 x 1.05).
I know this was posted over 2 years ago, but two follow up question: 1. If I give a merc Insight (which gives lvl 17 Meditation aura) then give him a +1 to all skills helm, does that add to the meditation aura? 2. Anything in this video that you missed or that's changed? Just coming back into the game after a 10 year period of not playing and am fascinated by how much I didn't know! Really loving all your content on youtube, thanks so much for all you do!

I'd say D3 has more to offer, when you've played D2 so much and done everything it gets boring when you can easily get to lvl 80 in a few days from a new account. In D3 I haven't even been too Whimmyshire because the spawn rate for the items and monsters was so low.
Path of Exile. Its more of a successor to diablo2 than diablo3 is. Free to play but not pay to win. Don't take my word for it check out its steam rating (93%) and videos. The skill tree and the gemming system is amazing.
130% cold/fire/lightning immunity and above is unbreakable even with a level 25 Conviction. 150% - res. all Conviction works at 1/5 efficiency --> 150/5=30; 130-30=100% resistance, still immune.

I may be wrong here, but I'd like to post something about +dmg for those interested. - +dmg is actually 3-4 different stats from what I understand. 1. +dmg (base) 2. +dmg (Min+Max) 3. +dmg (Max) 4. +dmg (Min) 1. The first stat is actually the weapon damage stat. This means that it is the first thing that is calculated in the damage formula (with +enhanced weapon damage%) and it is the most relevant overall. When you add to this, it causes everything that uses the stat for damage to be increased rapidly. 2. The second, third and fourth stats are different stats entirely from what I understand. They are added after the first formula is completed. Meaning, they do not count for the +enhanced weapon damage%, rather they are added on top of that after the original calculation is made. This means that these three stats are much weaker as a result. - To elaborate further, the first stat is the real weapon damage, whereas the second, third and fourth stats are bonuses that are added after the first damage calculation for weapons is completed. The reason why Grief is so strong and other weapons are not (relatively) is because the +dmg stat is actual damage for all of your attacks that use base dmg as the base factor. Whereas many other items that give +dmg (Min+Max), +dmg (Max), and +dmg(Min) give those bonuses in such a way that it does not multiply as a base weapon damage factor. - It goes without saying that I may be wrong here, but this is what I've gathered after some searching.
30:08 I believe that upping a unique item only upgrade the base item to the next level (normal -> exceptional -> elite), changing its base stats (e.g. base dmg, base def), but it won't change the unique item's mods (e.g. ED) that the unique gave. So it won't upgrade the unique item to the next level unique - it's just the same unique but with better base stats. It also doesn't reroll any of the existing magic mods. It does reroll the base item's base stats, as mentioned.
Its weird to see something like this with information that has actually changed like with the addition of Sunder Charms to Break Immunities. This is all still good information and I know D2R came out after this, but still really cool. I grew up playing LoD and never in my years of playing this game did I expect to get any sort of upgrade. Thanks for the info Llama!
You missed some of the subtlety of hammerdins and magic immune monsters at 9 minutes in. Yes, you cannot remove magic immunity with auras, curses or anything else; however, blessed hammer specifically does extra damage (150%) against undead. It just so happens that MOST of the monsters that spawn with magic immunity are also undead. (usually those act 2 mummies) This extra damage to undead from blessed hammer actually acts as an immunity breaker and will do damage to them anyway despite no extra -resistance mechanics at play. TLDR: Hammerdins OP. Very, very few monsters spawn that they can't kill with their main button.
More on "Ignore defens": Ignore Target's Defense will not work on super unique bosses, but "negate" Target Defense will work, that is why a Last Wish is a bad weapon for a kicksin against the übers, but a Fleshripper is just so awesome aginst them ;-)
Going back from d2r to lod was a breath of fresh air. Going back from Diablo 4 to lod was like escaping from a mildewed rug immersed in sewage. By the way I love the Starcraft music he used.
btw, i think if you put more points into TK(past 16) it starts to act like physical reduction and resistances for your mana were normally your phys reduction and resist don't count towards the dmg to your mana. People don't use it because of mana leech.
Have a high strength amulet in inventory and equip before picking up body will help you pick up body much safer, original amulet will go to the inventory slot so just swap it out later
Here is a super good tip I have never heard anyone talk about. A super budget way to keep your merc alive is to give them that unique helm that "blinds target" when striking. Everything your merc hits won't attack your merc. Super budget way to keep you merc alive with what ever life leach you can get on a weapon and or armor.
Edit: also I think make "target flee" is a super under rated ability for a merc. That you use with a sorc anyways. Another super budget way to keep your merc alive if you have nothing else. It also doesn't matter if the enemy runs cause your a sorc and can kill at a distance.
For Merc's having higher stats in normal - they gain more stats when you level themselves as opposed to hiring them at a higher level; meaning if you take a level 90 char and go to hire a merc there shouldn't be a difference between normal + hell, but, if you hire a merc. when you're levl 10 in normal and level it to 90 it will have higher stats.
this is not correct. you can go to normal diff and hire a merc at say, level 80, and if you had leveled the merc from level 1 to level 80 they will have the same stats. what matters is the difficulty setting where you hire the merc. Normal has higher stats than Nightmare, and higher still than Hell diff.
people thought i had a map hack with how fast i could find the next levels back when i was playing d2 back in the day. but it just came from with knowing how the maps could be generated. this was a long video but a lot of cool things i never knew. thanks!
i think biggest bug that many peoples dont know about is when you equip merc with +x%dmg jewel the bonus will not work even its showed as boosted on merc stats (im not sure if that applies also on +x%dmg items tho)
your tip about the crystal sword is a good tip in norm cows a normal crystal sword will socket to get 4 sockets any where else it will get ether norm-baal=1 socket nightmare -hell end=6 sockets
@1:29:40 No offense, but that's wrong! - If you max out TK (lvl 20), your "Dmg to Mana ratio" is 1 to 0.75 ! The cap is NOT 1 to 1, as the indiablo.de skill-calculator shows this for years correct. Unfortunately, they overhauled their site a while ago and it's not working as good/accurate as before... Anyway, If 100 dmg. is incoming to your char and you have 95 % ES (lvl 40) with a lvl 20 TK (hardpoints only), 95 of the 100 dmg. will be absorbed by your ES but you will only lose 71 mana. This is because Diablo II rounds all numbers and the 71.25 mana loss can't be subtracted otherwise. The 5 remaining dmg. will get checked by all of your resistances, (probably lowered even further), and than hits your life orb. Notice, that all of your resistances will NOT take into account, by damage which gets absorbed from your ES. Hope this helps, cause I know ES & TK is for many players nothing, but a big mystery! ^^
This is awesome, you are explaining things that i didn't even know when i was playing D2 back when i was child. Any chance you could play SC:BW? That background music is getting me. XD
So the conviction aura overwriting thing is due to how auras are coded. You can only be affected by one of a given aura at a time, so if one paladin has a level 20 fanaticism aura and another a level 10, the game picks the level 20 as the one that affects both. The issue with conviction comes because the conviction aura graphic that shows on your character when you activate it signifies an actual conviction aura, it just doesn't have any affect on you for obvious reasons. This is fine until we run into another conviction aura. The "only one aura" rule still holds, so your benign conviction aura on you can be overwritten by a higher level non-benign one from an enemy, but their benign conviction aura isn't overwritten by yours, meaning your conviction aura effectively doesn't do anything at all versus that enemy.
You forgot: Normal merc also has higher resistance vs nm or hell. You can only upgrade uniques, not rares... but you can roll magic items for multiple sockets with cube recipe if the item is capable. Lastly, the maps aren't procedurally generated but there's a lot of variations. Good video though, cant believe I watched the whole thing...
you can definitely upgrade rares, though it's a different forumla than the unique upgrade. Source: classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/cube.shtml Some maps are also procedurally generated, though not all. Some maps (Such as outer cloister) have set variations, others though were generated using tile pieces. :)
Unique items with %Enhanced Defense don't roll defense. They get the max possible defense for that item +1. You can see it at 32:24 with the 252 defense Vampire Gaze.
You aren't wrong, I just feel like helm is a more valuable position than rings in D2, lots of +2 skills, damage reduction, IAS and all sorts of goodies in helm slots, as compared to rings, but it's a more reliable choice to be sure and I normal have one on my Merc.
There's also this problem with traps and +fire\lightning damage% - apart from not receiving the elemental bonus by traps, the bonus from itself is actually displayed in character stats.
Mr llama, I spent a reasonable chunk of my teenage years playing d2. Sadly my inadequate skills only got me so far and I never found good loot. seeing that you are hoarding quite the treasure in there... I'm starting to suspect you and your sneaky little llama ways have something to do with my "bad luck". My girlfriend ran off with someone who could complete a full set. Missing one piece I wasn't man enough for her. Even my parents disowned me after they saw me fail at Andariel. Drunken from Akaras brewings I passed out near rogues encampment waking up with only one ear. I have nothing left but a crude short sword not even sharp enough to take my own life! I hope you spend the eternity in act IV!
Love your d2 stuff. I hope to catch a stream some day. Recently started a nostalgia run with some old buddies. Currently in act II Hell, slowly getting there.
When an item has %ed, it will always have the maximum roll for base defense. The exception are upgraded items, as for those the base defense gets rolled when upgrading. One of the reasons why perfectly upped (or double upped) bloodfists are worth quite a bit. Diablo drops ilvl 94, nila 95, baal 99.
Brilliant video, I learned a lot. I was really enjoying it right up to the point when you found Arm of King Leoric and then THREW IT ON THE GROUND?! LOL I want that item so bad, I almost choked when I saw that hahaha
You are missing a point about items that spawn with enhanced defence will always spawn with max defence +1, example chain gloves (superior normal, rare, magical or chancies) will always have max base defence +1. Chain gloves have a range of 8-9 def will with enhanced defence have a base def of 10. When you upgrade a rare or an unique you'll lose the max base defence and the +1 bonus and you'll reroll the base defence.
1:04:30 hm... so Redeev and their Anima ARPG mobile game seem to have a lot of these issues ironed out... . You equip a +1 to all skills and the synergy will consider every point that adds to it. I wonder whether they addressed any of these issues as to whether they want to leave all the way it was or adjust something like these for Resurrected?! Surely seems like a missed opportunity not to fix these "bugs" considering the price tag for Resurrected.
the strenghtbugging it's amazing all thou, i'd say have like some items in your bank that gives + to strength before you decide to minmax, or like some grandcharms that you can swap to to equip your min/maxing gear.

"Str glitch" rule is basicly you have to be able to wear the item because of your inventory (str/dex from charms) this can be obtained, while you can still pickup full body, as you say the other way around is risky :)
Bonus fact: if your str bugged item has frw, you will get "Bugged Frw" other people will see you run at the frw speed thats not glitched, but in reallity you're moveing faster, causeing you to "teleport" around on other people's screen, (haveing it on weapon/shield spot I,e Titans and spamming W the "Desynch effect will be even more unpredicteble" - Best Reggard DmM@Jsp (retired oldschool eu pvp'er)
what you said about MF made me wonder. so i looked it up, and did a lot of reading on "Treasure Class" .. I think it might explain why there are some uniques I've never seen. All the monsters have an assigned treasure class that have different chances to drop a specific type of item. It's how the game makes "Archon Staves" among many other base items are so rare. It might also mean that a specific base item might be more common in a specific area that spawns monsters that have a higher chance of dropping it due to its "treasure class". Like, even though the monster level is high enough to drop a specific base item, it has to go through many rolls that ultimately give a low chance of dropping it and possibly even none at all. MF doesn't count towards what type of item drops either, unfortunately, and there are many "junk" or "nodrop" selections in treasure classes. OFC having MF is always best when item hunting, but i think it's even more important to know the treasure class of the monsters you're killing. There might be better areas with monsters that have a specific treasure class with the highest possible chance to drop the base item you're looking for. It's really hard to know though because you have do look through a shitload of files, and i'm not sure if anyone has actually put this information online even though i know people have done it.
Sorry for annoy you again MrLlama. After a few days of coming back to Diablo 2 (thanks to you) I have a few questions about Mf: 1) As a sorc, what do you recommend about killing Hell Meph, /players 1 or /players 8 ? Got 300 mf stat 2) Are Ancient Tunnels farming the same as Chaos Sanctuary runs? (with this question I'm wondering if it's worth to make a hammerdin to farm Sanctuary) 3) Does /players 8 worth the time on bosses like Andy which are hard to kill? Sorry for the big post!
1. kill at the speed that's best for you. Honestly though, /players 3 is the best for killing bosses like that. 2. Yes they both drop any item in the game. 3. nope, see comment 1!
Mr Lama, 1. does synergy soft points counts as hard point when they are below 20? (like 10 hard points and +7 skill from no matter what above frost bolt) 2. how critical strikes works with deadly strike? for example if ive got 50% critical strike chance and 50% deadly strike chance, do ive got 50% chance to x4 dmg or 100% to x2 dmg or ive got nothing? xD ty
NextDelay is a thing that come into play a lot more often in some D2 mods than in the base D2 game. I had some ideas for characters in Median XL that were basically nonviable in their entirety because of it.
if i can add one thing to bugging armors, you can bug an item that had prior sockets if its ethereal and you make a runeword with it (AKA stone runeword) and then use the hel+tp method you can ebug the armor, although at the cost of the runes for stone(or whatever runeword you can use that has enhanced defense on it) hope this helps anyone out there :)
Seeing you play this as a Cold Sorceress is almost like looking at my reflection almost 14 years ago. Since you are level 96, most of the EXP you will want to get for your character comes from Baal and Diablo themselves as well as their clone counter-parts and Ubers. Damage Reduction is definitely a surivival skill you need at those high levels because you really can get hit very hard by some of those nasties while Baaling. If you (or anyone else viewing this) would like to know a few MORE cool power-levelling tricks that relate to getting your ladder character to level 99, check out my FAQ on Gamefaqs. There's several tricks to name a few: #1 Lingering members before next Baal run #2 EXP shrine farming in Act 1 or 2, #3 - Ondals Wisdom, Anni charm (boosts EXP), #4 - Pre-teleport/clear with lower-level sorc and/or hammerdin, #5 - D and B runs - one person clears out chaos to hit the seals as fast as possible to spawn Diablo but don't spawn him till the Baalers join, then you kill Diablo then by the time you're done, the Baal run will already be under way, but don't go too late or else you lose out! Sometimes a EXP shrine spawns in Chaos and that saves you a LOT of time hunting for EXP shrines. #6 - Act 2 minions EXP glitch with 7 people - one person unparties sacrificing the EXP gain for the rest of the team (works better on lower 90s).
yeah I miss those days with no bots on Battle.net D2 - glad to see you're still active with it on Single Player and got into GDQ! That's quite an accomplishment. I always liked downloading a whole bunch of Boss and Drop mods, but most of all, I loved the Zy-El mod, Kingdom of Tenai, and Hades Underworld mods hosted on private servers (PvPGN). I might post a video tutorial like this for my High Level FAQ one of these days if I ever decide to go back to LPing or what-not. Good times eh? :)
Yeah, Single Player or Private servers are the way to go to enjoy this game as it is now. Ladder on vanilla private servers can be quite fun as long as the admin of the server is cool and has a way to detect and ban bots better than Blizzard does nowadays on the realms - they had such a double-standard back then I even started a petition to stop them from "Realming Down" people who legitimately were running ladder Baal runs so fast that get banned for spamming. Kinda sucks when Blizzard didn't do anything at all eh? There priorities were with WoW back in 2005, so D2 kinda got baaling legits thrown under the bus and bots never got banned. So yeah, that being said, SP or Private the way to go now :)
Ever considered doing guides for end builds stat priority and overall item explanation ? I would love to see some of those. Really enjoy your vids keep it up :)
I've thought about it, but I actually much prefer early game-mid game stuff. End game usually just gets too easy in most games and I don't quite find it as enjoyable.
its awesome how u use SC:BW music in the background lol the good classics :) BW and D2 r really great games mby even better than their current advanced versions
Wooooop, keep up all this new material coming. So much unique and great ideas. One idea off of my head, speed run with 8 characters, each a different class and a different mercy lol.
MrLlamaSC I checked it. It said on Monday you would stream 7:30. I went to your twitch and it was a musician you were hosting. Tomorrow will you stream cause I'd love to see 7 different classes all working together. 7 classes and maybe another sorc or fishymancer.
Ended up streaming at around 8:30 on Monday because I had to make dinner for the week. We ended up running I think 5 of the classes though across 8 players?
I have been playing D2 on and off for many years, always kind of casually. I want to know if you have or could make a video of how to play the game as efficently as possible, to mae the most progress the quickest basically, because doing a startup can be slow..
hmm that's an interesting idea actually. Make a sort of "let's play" where I half speedrun but make it still comfortable enough that anyone could do it.
48:00 first % enhanced damage applies, then + ... damage and then on top of it assassin charges and finishing moves apply. Is that correct? By the way do crushing blow and critical strike apply before assassin charges released?
No, I'm not talking about chance to hit, which is influenced by defence. I know, you was talking about defence. But I'm actually talking about physical damage dealt on hit. I've found out that damage is explaned good here: classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/basics/characters.shtml By the way, I'm kinda confused about block chance. Arreat summit says that chance to block is reduced to 1/3 (but capped at 25%) when running and description of weapon block skill says that it doesn't work while running at all. However on some websites I met info about that actually assassin's weapon block chance is not reduced even when running. I've played Diablo 2 last time long time ago, but I believe when I was running with assassin weapon block still worked. What do you say about chance to block for shield and dual claws? And is that true that assassin's cloak of shadows has hidden ability to extinguish casted fire wall? I know for sure only that Fade has hidden physical resistance bonus, which is not displayed (that's from arreat summit).
You say that you throw away your shield at the start because blocking takes up more frames than hit recovery, that is not entirely true. The blocking animation is almost always faster at the start, the only exceptions to that being the wearbear and the amazon NOT wearing a javelin I believe. The problem is that you also block attacks that would not cause hit recovery, and therefore might lose time. Maybe you meant exactly that, I just want to make sure that no false information is being spread :-)
Sorry, the correct statement is "Blocking takes more frames than getting hit early on, because early on no monster will put me into faster hit recovery mode so anything blocked = wasted frames." Just easier to say "blocking saves frames" because people ask a lot :P

Very useful for a Necromancer wanting to protect his minions from, say, a Hak'u Shaman's fiery breath or a Cantor's blizzard.
wait Diablo 2 has a BLOCKING button........
O.o
@@diamondsfinest9386 No. A blocking chance.
I'm Mfing with this in the background, and literally moments after you mentioned that Pindle can drop a spiderweb sash but not an Arachnid Mesh, Meph dropped me my first ever Arach Mesh :P
Assassins don't use keys?! WHAT?! 1,000's of hours into D2 and I never knew that.
I just learnt that from your comment lol
20 years of D2 and I learn this now.
Lol same

The Chance Guards calculation only makes sense if you somehow start with 10 defense.
I know this was posted over 2 years ago, but two follow up question:
Nothing has really changed since this time
And yes for his natural aura it will buff it, but not in your case because that aura comes from an item
I love that u use starcraft music for backround, u truly appreciate blizzard's clasics

"it can't drop the same unique twice in a game" ooohhhh so that's why they're called uniques. I never knew that lol.
@barbara gill yeah, ive once droped 3 nagel in 1 game xD
it used to be that way, but it was patched as getting SOJ was way too easy..

97-99 took for fucking ever lol

Possible breakable immunity by additional lower resist curse (by necro or by item charge)

I may be wrong here, but I'd like to post something about +dmg for those interested.
-
+dmg is actually 3-4 different stats from what I understand.
1. +dmg (base)
2. +dmg (Min+Max)
3. +dmg (Max)
4. +dmg (Min)
-
To elaborate further, the first stat is the real weapon damage, whereas the second, third and fourth stats are bonuses that are added after the first damage calculation for weapons is completed.
-
It goes without saying that I may be wrong here, but this is what I've gathered after some searching.
Yeah the game has shifted! Maybe time to make a new tips video
Very, very few monsters spawn that they can't kill with their main button.
this got fixed at some point, though. So it's no longer the case.
LOL he rolled a 720 armor to a 1080 on a youtube vid. Ithink that's funny :D
HD - FHD
nice :D
u had me at diablo!!!
Normal has higher stats than Nightmare, and higher still than Hell diff.
people thought i had a map hack with how fast i could find the next levels back when i was playing d2 back in the day. but it just came from with knowing how the maps could be generated. this was a long video but a lot of cool things i never knew. thanks!
thanks! Ya lots of people just assume map hack but it's pretty cool how it's all generated
Is it true that the -resistance debuff in Nightmare and Hell difficulties also applies to enemies, like he mentioned?
knowing all of this makes me feel so nostalgic
i think biggest bug that many peoples dont know about is when you equip merc with +x%dmg jewel the bonus will not work even its showed as boosted on merc stats (im not sure if that applies also on +x%dmg items tho)
Ya there's a lot of issues with the +%dmg stuff. It works in weird ways (I think same thing for like if you have it in armor and stuff)
your tip about the crystal sword is a good tip in norm cows a normal crystal sword will socket to get 4 sockets any where else it will get ether norm-baal=1 socket nightmare -hell end=6 sockets
@1:29:40
No offense, but that's wrong!
interesting, I'll have to study it up a bit more and maybe do some testing of my own! ty
This is awesome, you are explaining things that i didn't even know when i was playing D2 back when i was child.

Source: classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/cube.shtml
Some maps are also procedurally generated, though not all. Some maps (Such as outer cloister) have set variations, others though were generated using tile pieces. :)

Unique items with %Enhanced Defense don't roll defense. They get the max possible defense for that item +1. You can see it at 32:24 with the 252 defense Vampire Gaze.
This makes me wanna play D2 again. It's been a long time.
With Tgods belt and wisp you can heal from lighting damage with 75 res, it's super handy with boss packs of gloams
Blackhorn's Face is good for that too.
Yep just remembered that. It's those pesky re-rolls that can getcha
This video needs to be put into your guide playlist
Brilliant video, I learned a lot. I was really enjoying it right up to the point when you found Arm of King Leoric and then THREW IT ON THE GROUND?! LOL
I want that item so bad, I almost choked when I saw that hahaha
I throw a lot of stuff away haha :P

Conviction is even more broken than it is widely believed.
>It will always be applied to a hostile target supplying equal level Conviction. Moreover, after switching to another aura, Conviction will continue to be applied to the hostile target until it switches aura (which isn't possible for a monster). © AB Wiki.
There's more to it, because it may not show underneath your feet, while being applied to you. Yikes.
Smite is unblockable and always hits (Ubers have ~50% block), but so is e.g. Ama's Lightning Bolt, which can apply CB and OW too. Also, it procs on hit, and you get range... and pierce.
After a few days of coming back to Diablo 2 (thanks to you) I have a few questions about Mf:
1) As a sorc, what do you recommend about killing Hell Meph, /players 1 or /players 8 ? Got 300 mf stat
2) Are Ancient Tunnels farming the same as Chaos Sanctuary runs? (with this question I'm wondering if it's worth to make a hammerdin to farm Sanctuary)
3) Does /players 8 worth the time on bosses like Andy which are hard to kill?
Sorry for the big post!
VERY stupid questions. You have a lengthy path ahead of u.
1. kill at the speed that's best for you. Honestly though, /players 3 is the best for killing bosses like that.
2. Yes they both drop any item in the game.
3. nope, see comment 1!

Hi. Thanks for the tips. May i know why do your inventory have so many pages? Mine only have 1
NextDelay is a thing that come into play a lot more often in some D2 mods than in the base D2 game. I had some ideas for characters in Median XL that were basically nonviable in their entirety because of it.
Actually that 2os sacred armor is good for Prudence, which I like using for smiters. That and the dream ebugged vortex exile, give you absurd defence.
if i can add one thing to bugging armors, you can bug an item that had prior sockets if its ethereal and you make a runeword with it (AKA stone runeword) and then use the hel+tp method you can ebug the armor, although at the cost of the runes for stone(or whatever runeword you can use that has enhanced defense on it) hope this helps anyone out there :)
I'll have to test this out
Edit: Tested it and it didn't increase the defense of the armor...might test more later
#6 - Act 2 minions EXP glitch with 7 people - one person unparties sacrificing the EXP gain for the rest of the team (works better on lower 90s).
lots of good tips there! All ladder stuff though really haha. Singleplayer struggles :P
yeah I miss those days with no bots on Battle.net D2 - glad to see you're still active with it on Single Player and got into GDQ!
Starting sound is starcraft terran ?
yes sc 1 for sure =)
so if they are cold immune at 105% resist, and your cold mastery is 160% resistance ignoring, it still wont do any damage?
Ever considered doing guides for end builds stat priority and overall item explanation ? I would love to see some of those. Really enjoy your vids keep it up :)
I've thought about it, but I actually much prefer early game-mid game stuff. End game usually just gets too easy in most games and I don't quite find it as enjoyable.
Oh look how complicated this game's mechanics are and how many caveats exist. It certainly makes me want to go back and play this
Love your videos bro!!!
Wait but you're giving this guide with a mod that expands storage space right?
is there a place where all of this is written down? is there a website or app that will tell me my actual damage/resistance?
Magic Immunes are unbreakable. Neither LR nor Conv touches them.

We ended up running I think 5 of the classes though across 8 players?
regarding armor defense, any item with %enhanced defense is rolled with its max base defense+1. But when you upgrade it, the rule doesn't apply.
that's right. Which is why when you upgrade it you have a chance to get a worse defense on gaze
Binge watching these streams. Amazing streamer.
48:00
first % enhanced damage applies, then + ... damage and then on top of it assassin charges and finishing moves apply. Is that correct?
By the way do crushing blow and critical strike apply before assassin charges released?
I believe this should give you some sense of it: bfed2.diablomods.ru/site/index.php?page=gm_damage
No, I'm not talking about chance to hit, which is influenced by defence. I know, you was talking about defence. But I'm actually talking about physical damage dealt on hit.
I've found out that damage is explaned good here: classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/basics/characters.shtml
By the way, I'm kinda confused about block chance.
Sorry, the correct statement is "Blocking takes more frames than getting hit early on, because early on no monster will put me into faster hit recovery mode so anything blocked = wasted frames."
Just easier to say "blocking saves frames" because people ask a lot :P
