To All: Thank you so much for being here! This interesting text comes from “Lion-Eating Poet in Stone Den” (施氏食獅史)! It’s a famous Chinese poem/tongue twister, written by a famous Chinese linguist. I’ve taken the first verse: “石室诗士施氏,嗜狮,誓食十狮” for the video. Of course, regular daily speech is not reflected by a tongue twister (a fact that goes for any language). It is, however, a great exercise for the ears and mouth for tones, and it’s fun!
The name Shi Shi also have its own meaning. The first Shī is a common family name, and the second Shì means Mr.( used to omit one’s given name) like one’s Family name is Zhang we can call him/her Zhang Shi. But Shì is hardly used in modern Chinese but popular in ancient Chinese.
Even though this sentence was from a Chinese poem(施氏食狮史, created around 1930s), Chinese speakers don't usually use this kind of sentence structure, because this sentence was made for a tongue-twister, using homonym text(同音文) and classical Chinese(文言文,last widely used around the Qing dynasty) These two forms of Chinese language are actually very old, so most modern Chinese speakers don't understand them. But I see almost half of the comment section making fun of the language(although they r probably just joking), so I wrote this to prevent misunderstanding.
Btw theres a very interesting thing call 绕口令(rao kou ling) it's mean a sentence which have the same word pronounce. Example, 吃葡萄不吐葡萄皮 (chi pu tao bu tu pu tao pi) eat grape dont spit grape skin

Oke😂
No you are wrong this is not how you say it it's like this
The actual correct answer:
在一个时候房间有一个叫shi shi 喜欢老虎他们说他要吃10个老虎
The wrong answer: shi shi shi shi shi shi shi shi shi shi shi
So you get it now?
“Room” is actually 室
实 means “reality”
Isn't that du which is read?
In the dialect I learn it’s (fáng)房 for room
but Chinese is confusing so maybe we’re both right and it’s the same
so many ways to say stuff!!!!

@@katsoupkeii6738 yeah, you're right. But if he wanted to only include the "shi" words, 室 is suitable here
