ACORN 180 CURVE STAIRLIFT DIAGNOSTIC REPAIR SERVICE - SURREY BC, METRO VANCOUVER, FIRST REPORT - 604
PROBLEMS FOUND: Was not in Sleep Mode, as it should have been. Did not wake up from Sleep Mode. Battery packs were in reversed polarity. (Fixed) I will have to research why they were reversed, since I have never seen reversed polarity before. Reversed polarity may have caused other problems that cannot be determined until fully-charged good batteries are installed, and the cause of the reversed battery polarity is found. Top stairs charging pads in correct up/down orientation, but lower charging pads in diagonal orientation. (Should be corrected.) No lights, error codes, or low voltage beeps. Sagging wires in frame.
DETECTED BY ONE INSTRUMENT: AC current or AC ground in frame and system wiring detected by my differential non-contact current tester. Probably needs correction. My tester is very unique, and no longer made. Other technicians who do not have an identical tester will be puzzled. Lower charging pad exhibited mV intermittently. Probably caused by faulty power pack. One cell in one pack is hotter than the others. One or more dead cells. My watt meter detected less than 1 watt used by the power pack. (Abnormal.)
REPAIRED AND WORKING: Battery packs polarity corrected and charged to 10.5VDC (requires 13V) Lights up with low voltage beeps. (This is normal.)
RECOMMENDATIONS: Get Polar Battery to re-cell, one pack at a time. If both packs are removed at the same time, program will need to be re-done. Then, contact me if you need help to balance and re-install. Alternatively, buy new packs.
WHAT YOU MENTIONED: Installed by your friend who installs straight stairlifts. Was stored in a garage, in parts, for 2 months. The battery packs were not removed.
MY COMMENTS: You own the curved model that is the easiest to maintain and fix. I have not researched wiring diagrams to determine if the negative should be the lower charging pad.

I changed out the batteries in my parents acorn 180 curved stairlift and I need to reprogram or reset, I know you don't need to do that if you disconnect old batteries and replace new in certain order but I didn't do that so now I need to reprogram, do you know how to do that?
