Cutting weight IS hard when you need to drop weight to another class that you’re not in. I wrestled at 189 in HS, I was told to cut to make weight at 171. Now during the off-season I was told to bulk up for 189. I lifted and ate healthy etc all that jazz, weighed in a comfortable 186 full so I was set I had no “fat” to lose. I was told to wrestle at 171 and someone else was gunna wrestle 189. I had 1 week to lose 15lbs. Let me tell ou how much I hated every living person, hated food commercials, hated my family ( smelled food while I was in the basement sweating my ass off). I hated the sport and my life. When it came time to weigh in I made the cut 170, but the problem was I was so drained, I had no water I was dehydrated, I had no energy because I had no food. I tried to eat before my match but if you have to go without eating for awhile and when you do eat, you get sick. I lost my match I’ll own up to that: but I did get the coaches respect for cutting so much weight unaturally, and I never needed to go to that weight again. Please, don’t ever say cutting weight is easy.
