    looking awesome Luis! I'm excited to see it come together! As far as the air filter and v stack situation, I think you're making the right decision. The stock plenum is flat and restrictive in my opinion. Plus it looks better sticking out of the body! Keep up the great work brother. Talk soon

    I wanted the DBXL since i purchased my 5ive T, mostly because of the look and i already know engines. It has been "backorder" since i got the 5ive T. Im glad they addressed the issues with the 2.0, but im not a fan of the current bodies and wing. The way the v1 was set up allowed you to run the Velocity stack and aftermarket filter setup and you cant do that with the 2.0 without cutting a hole in the body. By the look of it, if you cut the body or run the 1.0 body (which ill be doing) then you can run the velocity stack. Im alright with the 32 cc but maybe in the future may upgrade to a 40 cc or bigger. I really like the 71 cc but looks like it needs a lot of changes to fit an engine that size.

    • @SmithRCStudios
      @SmithRCStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah great point there! Thanks for the input. I will be running the new 2.0 body. Not sure if you in the video it already has a pre-cut line on the body. I’ll cut it and run that V stack. Thanks for stopping by. Cheers

    • @SebastianLong
      @SebastianLong 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SmithRCStudios Yeah. I seen it is the same roll cage as the 1.0, but personally would rather sell the body and buy the body i like for it.

    New DBXL looks sweet and it seems Horizon has addressed the weaknesses of the first version. That thing is gonna scream with that Taylor35 + BR pipe ⛽💥 I think your making a good decision with the BR velocity stack and eliminating the stock air filter box.

    I have the first gen DBXL. I haven’t ran it in a while but getting back in to it. Good to see the updated design on the 2.0 and I can appreciate the attention to detail on your 1/5 scale kits. I just ordered some spare spark plugs, filter cleaner/oil and spare parts.
    I noticed the little bit of gas I left in the tank has evaporated and there’s only the mixer oil left at the bottom. I think it should be alright starting it up with some fresh mixed fuel. Might be a little oily in the beginning but all good. What oil do you prefer to mix with your gas?

    • @SmithRCStudios
      @SmithRCStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thank you so kindly for stopping by. I am happy you are motivated to take your original DBXL out for a spin again. You should definitely mix new fuel though lol. Well to answer your question i normally use Dominator Oil by Amsoil . I mix it 28 to 1 ratio. But for my boats i definitely use more oil and mix 16 to 1. Cheers

    Hi, I have seen this on your other videos, I am not talking about anything in this video at all but I figured you might reply to me here because you recently posted this video.
    Does your losi 5ive t 2.0 actually cold start 1st or 2nd pull? Because to start my losi 5ive-t 2.0 it takes like 20 ish pulls! So if tou have any tips for the engines to run better please tell me because I am new to this hobby. Btw I have the stock zenoah g320rc I you need or want to know.

    • @SmithRCStudios
      @SmithRCStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On cold start mine starts with 3 or 4 pulls max. It’s not about the pulling. It’s about knowing the inside of the carb and engine cylinder. The key is to prime it and make sure you have fuel staged, and fuel in the cylinder, then you pull. In order to do this you need to FIRST: Stage your fuel lines by pushing the bulb on the carb so that you see fuel going through the fuel line. Then SECOND: lightly and slowly pull the pull start once or twice to get fuel in the cylinder. Then THIRD: choke it if you have a choke (meaning cover the intake hole on the carb) until you here it POP. Once that happens you can then proceed and actually “Pull” the pull start faster and harder. If done properly you should not have to pull more than 2 times or so and your engine should be running. DISCLAIMER: remember also a lot of this depends on your carburetor and if it is tuned properly. I hope this helps. In my next video i will address this. Stay tuned.

    Awesome video! I’m running the black version. I ordered the same engine but is still in transit. It would be great to tag along and watch what you can do to yours. I also ordered an OLIMAT pipe from Simon but I would take a couple weeks to get it. I’m running mine at my local 8th scale track bone stock. Here are some advices to you so you don’t make the mistakes I made. Immediately locktite both steering posts underneath. Horizon ran out of funds for threadlocks 😂.Also, the tank is very heavy when full and the 3 screws holding the tank came off. It felt front heavy for me with the stock engine and my front sway bar snapped with a nose dive. Other then that, it is an incredible fun toy.
