Picking Up Trash in Our UK Neighborhood

- We love the trees and greenery, being able to walk and transit where we need to go, and all the lovely people who've taken the time to chat with us on trains, in parks and laundromats, and wherever we happen to be.
There's a lot of litter around though, so we took some time to clean up the street on the way to the park near us. Once we were going, it was hard to leave trash on the sidewalk so we could actually get to the park, where this was originally going to take place.

Good stuff. Nice family.
awesome for doing this
good too see beautiful kind, familys doing good stuff 👍👍
Thank you particularly for including the children- remember always better to light a candle somewhere rather than curse the dark!
living in the u.s. and being used to seeing litter everywhere... wasn't expecting england to have the same issue, especially not in a nice residential area. that's unfortunate. good on you guys for making a positive difference
People in the US very frequently have Europe on a pedestal, with a default presumption that they don’t have our cultural problems. This was true for us before spending a lot of time here too.
Just like everywhere we’ve been in the US, there is wonderful beautiful stuff, and messier basic human stuff. This is not a bad neighborhood, we loved our stay there. But it was a mess.
Well done guys. Looks like you are in Birmingham?
Correct, this was in Birmingham! We've really enjoyed Birmingham, but yeah, the litter in Acocks Green specifically was enough to make us get some gloves and clean up a bit.
Think about it, we all drop rubbish, even accidentally....but it is only rubbish people that never pick it up!
This is sad.
Europe is a big mix of actual real people just like the US. There was weirdly a lot more litter in this neighborhood than in many others. We had great interactions here too, though.
