You guys are doing a great job. It shows how we've lost our way in designing, though. In those days rugged, simple, and serviceable were the keys. That's what makes restoration like this possible. Today, I wouldn't be surprised to find a car where you have to take off a tire to replace a spark plug. We should get in touch with a few more basic things. Like build a car from a mechanics viewpoint. If he can work on it without wishing the engineer would die in a crash and burn situation, you're getting better! Hehehe

Brilliant stuff guys. The Isle of White Tank Museum here in the UK planned to get a full troop of A34 comets up an running about ten years ago but nothing came of it so maybe a troop of Grants would be even better so watching all the way!

I have to say if I had the job of refurbishing and putting together tanks of the past I would love my job. I would look forward to going into work everyday, I would work late, weekends, Holidays, it would be such a joy and my wife would hate me for being gone so much! Seems strange to say that but I am addicted to watching these videos. The Grand tank restoration videos are especially intriguing.
I always look forward to Workshop Wednesday. I love seeing you restor this historical tank. There is something very satisfying, understanding what each does, and then seeing it bolted on and integrated with the other parts of the tank. Great video and commentary. One of the first model kits I built as a kid... Monogram I believe. I've always loved the Grant/Lee with their unique riveted look and side mounted gun. Gentlemen... thank you for bringing my childhood fantasy back to life! 👍🏽
we even had to wear a cvc tanker's helmet on the m60. everything inside was metal, and didn't move. driving the tank cross country, you did. even if you were hanging on with the minimum of three points of contact. trust me, it hurt if you cracked your head on the side of the turret even with a cvc on.
Great job you blokes. The 2 pounder is surprisingly long and components are well engineered. For anyone who hasnt seen the original Sahara with Bogart as the TC in a Grant, highly recommend you do.

Wednesday night watching these amazing men restoring the M3 Grant their work ethics and knowledge of machinery is absolutely incredible especially when the machinery started off as a heap of bits and pieces and very little complete, fantastic effort to all involved , all the best from Tassie
I’m hoping to see a video soon of all the tanks and accessories from Jono Parker being unloaded, cleaned up and inventoried for work later on. A whole battery of running Grant tanks on parade would be an awesome sight.
You can imagine the guys who built these in the early to mid 1940's watching you and laughing at how slow you are. The heroes of the conflict weren't always on the front lines. The factory workers were important too, but received no glory. RIP Grandad.
I remember your first video and now you've become the de facto tank restoration (and more!) channel on youtube for sure, and with true Aussie ingenuity you manufacture parts that you can't get hold of easily and get things done! I'm sure most people would love to have everything 100% original but old military hardware are usually quite rare - and hard to acquire, let alone being expensive - hence why I'm and the rest here are glad that you fabricate instead of parking the projects for years whilst waiting for some unobtanium parts... Thank you for making all these videos and for restoring and saving history for future generations! ❤ Just such a shame that I live on the exact opposite side of the world here in Sweden which makes it neigh impossible to visit you, hence why I appreciate all the effort you make making these videos for us!!!
This has given me a new appreciation of the Grant as a solid piece of engineering - not just an ungainly stop-gap rush job.
