Hey John, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these shocks. It helps me to feel more confident with my next purchase. I'm thinking of getting a GT Force Carbon Elite which has that shock. To help me decide on what model GT to go for I am research the seperate components. Thanks again from down under.
My ebike came with this (I believe it is the same) fork back in 2019. Of course not entirely the same🤗. But I'm super happy. I have to say I know nothing of setting up. My dealer just filled up with air and I haven't touched anything later🤷♂️🤗
I have this exact fork. You must ride harder than me as I am not a light guy and at 90 psi wasn't getting much travel out of it. I ended up taking all tokens tokens out and at 90psi can finally get decent sag and full travel.
@@RatchetstrapMedia I ride a bit of everything but mostly natural rocky trails so needed the comfort as on bigger descents it felt super harsh until I got rid of the tokens. Glad you like it!
@@markfogel3682 Same here, tried a lot of combos, ended around 80 psi, 1 token, reboud like 9 clicks from fastest. For bikepark just add 2 clicks of low speed compresion. 205 lbs
@@hardtailriders that wasn't the question and well I strongly disagree with your opinion. Even the stock Stoic is literally a beast. Went to Winterberg with it and you can throw everything at it. So no it doesn't suck at all.....
soo I am getting ebike and it comes with yari rc or 36 performance, not quite sure what to take. any helping input ? ps, i had a polygon as well just sold it for ebike.
Didn’t notice any difference. Bike feels much better. You can’t increase the rear travel. Number 1, because the rear triangle won’t allow it , but also because it would mess with the bike way to much.
Been watching your videos while I was waiting on my polygon vander t7! Great reviews
Thank you!

Hell yeah! You’ll love it
Best bit is it shares all it's internals with the Lyric.
So you can upgrade at your leisure, but it will be heavier.
Everything except the damper is the same as the lyrik. Even the chassis is the same. Lyrik has a charger damper, the yari has a motion control damper.

The lower legs are different too.
@@kevinshort3943 No they aren't. They are exactly the same, it's a common misconception.

Not entirely the same. The 2021 has an updated air spring.
I guess it's better👋. Is it possible to upgrade mine with that. I'm thinking of going up to 180 from my 160 🤗
Yes. All the new debonair air springs are the updated versions.

I have 4 token in mine at 90. I spent a lot of time at bike parks, so I need the big hit support.

Loving the videos man. Keep it up✌🏻
Thanks!
Thx for sharing, looking to upgrade my Canion Stoic with a 160mm Yari but don't know which offset will be bedt for the stoic.
u need to buy a Commencal Meta! Canyon Stoic sucks!

Which rim do you ride in the yari??
Do you think that this would feel like a massive upgrade coming off of a cheap sr suntour coil fork?
Yes. This fork is literally second in line to the most popular top of the line fork in the world.
Huge difference!

I like rockshox for how easy they are to work on
You mentioned that you switched from recon to yari. So how did your present setup affect the geometry?
Also, have you also increased your rear travel?
Didn’t notice any difference. Bike feels much better. You can’t increase the rear travel. Number 1, because the rear triangle won’t allow it , but also because it would mess with the bike way to much.
@@RatchetstrapMedia so what's your rear travel that currently goes with your 160 front setup?
130. More than enough for bike park stuff. At least for me. Tuning your suspension goes a long way.
@@RatchetstrapMedia are there any travel increase/upgrade for a 210x50mm rear shock fitting?
You can’t increase the travel, but there are a ton of shock options for that size.
Is this fork compatible with shimano deore brake system?
I wouldn’t see an issue with it fitting.
which one is better, Rockshox yari or sr suntour dorulox?
Yari
Is this for compatible with 160mm rotors?
Yes. I used a 203mm
@@RatchetstrapMedia my Marin mtb wheels have 160mm rotors so all I would have to do is swap out forks ?
Or does rotor size affect riding performance?
You’ll be fine
Is it seriously that easy to upgrade that fork to lyrik?
Yes
Yes
does this fork fit 27.5 x 2.8 tyres?
I’m not sure. I think it will. I have a 2.5 in there and it looks really small
@@RatchetstrapMedia ok, thank you. also, i've started to ride tech trails with my Roscoe 7 2021, it has 120mm travel, is it worth the upgrade?
Absolutely, you can upgrade the roscoe to 140mm if you are comfortable with that.
@@RatchetstrapMedia thanks for the help!
Thank you
No problem
thanks
🤙
Looks nice yep :)
Thanks!
Which fork is better rockshox yari or Domain?
Yari
