I’m the old hillbilly from Tennessee that spoke to you at streamer love fest. Enjoyed watching you tie and your interaction with the kids was outstanding. Thanks for what you do
I’ve been using one of the original fly hubs for years. Absolutely love it and one of the long-standing staple tools at my fly bench. I use it for everything from midges to big streamers. Really helpful for production tying and glad you showcased it!
I kinda figured out the "tie a whole bunch of one thing" tip on my own and boy could I see the progression in the quality. The difference between the first few and the last is remarkable. This tip is money. I also found a vintage organizer at an antique shop (wife was looking for lamps, china, etc.) that I use for hooks and beads. You know the kind - metal cabinet, plastic drawers that pull out. Probably came from an old time hardware store. Last owner used it for jewelry making/bead work. It really helps me keep the hooks organized. Just pull out the little drawer with the4 size/style you want and go on a marathon tying binge!
You just blew my mind! I never even thought about working in stages. And lighting...I was cussing under my breath about not being able to see. I thought it might have been the Knobb Creek Old Fashioned that I was sipping on. I keep a pair of reading glasses in my tying gear. I just can't bring myself to use them. I am definitely going to redoing my entire setup from storage to Vise. Thank you!!👍
I just got my set of these tools in the mail. From US to Canada. Was pretty quick! They are beautiful and very functional! A really great tying tool! Thank you and not an outlandish price either.
Great video Brian , extremely jealous of how organized your tying area is . But even more jealous of that shirt you got on… liked this video more than I thought I would !
Excellent advice as always Brian. Being organized and working a consistent process equals speed. Since I enjoy tying streamers including the articulated ones I have started the stages program.
Enjoyed the reminder. I was told this when first started tying. I'll be tying up some swimming clouser's this week. I have fallen into the toxic habit that you have just spoke about. Thanks for the friendly reminder.
I am tying 100 flies for Trout Unlimited's Tie-A-Thon. This is my 3rd year. This year I am tying a version of the Pink Copper John posted by Svend Diesel. I have the pattern worked out with the changes I wanted to make so I'm ready to git'er done! I agree - by tying the same part of the fly over and over it helps me identify the best way to do it and make it look great. I increase my ability to use that technique effectively on any fly that uses it and they look consistent.
I tie clouser minnows in a production style and I have recently been tying flu flu jigs for bluegills by the dozen. Being organized and efficient definitely helps a lot. Thanks for the fly tying tips videos, they help a lot!
Fabulous and instructive video Brian! Glad you’re digging my FlyHub XL-8. I’m sure the lucky winner of the giveaway will get lots of use out of it too! Thanks again for all you do four community!!!!💯🙏🥃
Excellent tips on tying lots of flies, especially the articulated flies. I will definitely be tying them in segments and see how much better i do when I'm tying 24 barely legals soon. Can't wait to try it.
All true! Having material organized & easy to find definitely helps setting up to tie. It also makes it much easier to inventory materials for re-ordering, especially small but critical items like hooks, wires & threads.
Great video!! If you ever get the dubious chance to get stitches and go in to get them pulled out, ask them for those dope little surgical tweezers, they’ll probably give them to you. They work great for getting hooks and beads out of everywhere.
Love this one! I’ve been working on game changers and have seen a huge improvement on correct taper and fullness from focusing on just one style fly… if I was gonna production tie some flies I really wanna add the knuckle head and game changer variants to the box!
Awesome as always, your videos got me tying flies in the first place. Met you at a streamer love fest a few years back and just a genuinely good dude. I think I’ll tie the game changer!
Great video n tips are very real. I myself learned that tying a few of 1 recipe before the next works well n the flies get better n easier 2 tie. I'm getting back n2 tying n lighting is a key factor 2 see as well as reduce eye fatigue. Very good point. Good quality glasses help there as well. Yes I said it because I'm at that age where my eyesight isn't what it used 2 b. Cheap glasses cause eye strain n that is counter productive! Thanks for great video and keep them coming. God Bless n fish on!
Love the tips, Brian. I'm one of those, tie one on to another type. I can see where this can help me with my articulated pike flies and keeping my desk organized. Love the Woodford Reserve, too. 👍
Great video, organization definitely helps when getting materials ready for tying. My production fly right now would be Franke Shiner. Pattern is simple but has a few steps but I have had so much success on it with all different stories of fish.
Hey Brian, I enjoyed your drinking and organizing video. I'm struggling with steamer patterns. The production format makes way to much sense. I enjoy all your shows, you make it fun. Cheers
The lighting tip is big! Good lighting makes all the difference, but I gotta say, you are not that old, yet!lol! Love the hub, would work great tying Drunk-n-disorderlies. Music always a plus and 321 scotch is the cap to a prefect evening! Thanks as always, love your videos!
Good tips Brian. I'll be tying in the back of a pickup truck later this year when I move into my motor home so the Fly Hub XL is too big, but I have another solution that will work for me. Anyway I hope the world is well with you and keep the good stuff coming.
awesome as always with the tips & tricks! saw the fly hub at the fly fishing show & its a great tool for larger flies. organization is the key to success! i would probably tie a bunch of deceivers in steps & i would love to tie some hollows after watching Brad Buzzi tie them..so easy
Great video... great info... definitely going to be tying up a boatload of Church's Thrashers! I've been looking for good ways to organize the hundreds of packages.... this will help.
I think I would tie the broke back crawl daddy by Kelly Gallop. Thanks for the tying tips. Really enjoying the videos helping me alot in my tying looking forward to the next one. Thanks for sharing.
just finished up cleaning and organizing my tying desk before this vid dropped, and the flyhub xl would be a GAMECHANGER for me (pun intended). i’m gonna work on tying a bunch of feathered game changers in preparation for spring and this product would be amazing
Another great vid Brian. In the process of relocation my tying area, good tips to get/keep things organized. As you know bass season is quickly approaching here in MO, I got some game changes to tie up commercial style!
I just started fishing freshwater again out here in Hawaii and I found out that we have some monster bluegill here in our reservoir so I'm going to be tying mini poppers like it's my job soon haha. Great video! I'm definitely going to use these tips thanks!!!
Sweet video as usual! These tips are awesome and will help me make waaaay less of a mess of my tying desk! I haven’t tried tying the Knuckle Deep yet so that’s next on my list (just got my order for foam). Keep ‘em coming! Cheers!
I’ve been getting more and more into production tying. Still time consuming with the gamechangers and jerkchangers I’m mostly tying. Always digging your videos Brian.
Great video Brian.. I have tried to do some of the same kind of thi gs you mention but just have not totally figured it all out. I have had magnets stuck the corner of my wall while I work on other flies.
Awesome video with great information! Im definitely going to be using these tips to hopefully improve my tying ! I think Ill start with a stimulator pattern since thats what I use the most of!
I had a teacher/baseball coach in junior high who had a sign in his classroom, " Organization is the Key" . I have used that in life, not only fly tying, and fishing. Every time I tie, I tie least a dozen from zebra midges to Sex Dungeons. My tying room is set up with a rap around built in desk, 4 drawers tall. I have upper cabinets and a rod and reel locker. All my materials are in trays or bins from the container store. It is my man cave.
I am so incapable of doing this 😅. Only time I tie multiple of the same fly at a time is for an upcoming trip or for when ppl hire me to make them flies. Otherwise, I usually let my mind wander and try to come up w new patterns based on the materials on my desk. It’s not efficient but it does allow for innovation. I have come up w several patterns or adaptations to old patterns from being less organized than the average fly tier. I do agree that the way you get good at tying is through making the same pattern many times in a row.
Thanks for the tips Brian and if you send me that thing I’ll tie the swimmin jimmy in steps and leave all the heads for last like you did. Thanks for the video keep them coming👍
I wish you could see my tying area. It looks like there was a riot at the zoo! Its kind of our breakfast area nook. My wife just rolls her eyes. 🙄😂 Thanks so much for all your videos.👍👍 Just curious about that wooden fly you zoomed in on your shelf..looked like an antique..maybe that was used with bamboo rods back in the day?! 😑 Have a great one my friend! 👌🎣
I learned early on to tye in batches or dzs. Your first and last fly look totally different in most cases, for the better. Another hack is binder rings from the dollar store. I keep all my stuff this way. It's got me much more organized. As for a light a cheap 20$ shop light above my bench works fantastic.
i like the idea about the hooks i have packages and packages of hooks. Iam trying to decrease the number (styles) of hooks that I use. I will be tying a dozen tarpon toads for a up coming trip.
Great job on this video Brian. I'm like you (at least were), still not happy with my dear heads. I like the idea of working on tying heads on multiple streamers, back to back. BTW - I've seen you use that wooden hair packer. Where can that be found/purchased. Best! MD

I’m the old hillbilly from Tennessee that spoke to you at streamer love fest. Enjoyed watching you tie and your interaction with the kids was outstanding. Thanks for what you do
Brian. I think this is some of the greatest advice. I stated doing this after about a year and a half of tying. It made me so much better!
I’ve been using one of the original fly hubs for years. Absolutely love it and one of the long-standing staple tools at my fly bench. I use it for everything from midges to big streamers. Really helpful for production tying and glad you showcased it!

You can't go wrong with a Knob Creek Old Fashioned......especially their Rye! 😎
I’m going to have to try those bench rings and that magnet fly holder looks cool. Knucklehead here I come.
I just got my set of these tools in the mail. From US to Canada. Was pretty quick! They are beautiful and very functional! A really great tying tool! Thank you and not an outlandish price either.
I think the refrigerator organizers are going to be my next purchase for my bench area. Good stuff as always dude!!!

Yes they do work well.
Last tip was probably what I need to get motivated tonight and tie.
I love your style. The Fly Hub XL is an outstanding tool! I’m going to tie dozens of The Thief on my next venture.
Love this one! I’ve been working on game changers and have seen a huge improvement on correct taper and fullness from focusing on just one style fly… if I was gonna production tie some flies I really wanna add the knuckle head and game changer variants to the box!

Great advice for deer hair. Something with deer hair will be what I focus on per your tip. Really like the fly hub too!
Great video, organization definitely helps when getting materials ready for tying. My production fly right now would be Franke Shiner. Pattern is simple but has a few steps but I have had so much success on it with all different stories of fish.
Sweet giveaway! The hook organizer is the biggest takeaway for me (or getting rid of the packaging is probably a better way to put it) Thanks, Brian.

Man, you’re like, really good at wrapping feathers and fur on a hook mannnnnnnn
Great video... great info... definitely going to be tying up a boatload of Church's Thrashers! I've been looking for good ways to organize the hundreds of packages.... this will help.
Dig your process. I have used a lot of your techniques over the years. But I picked up a couple of good ideas from your vid. Tnx
Would definitely use the fly hub to tie mini viking midges, they seem to be one fly I can always count on to get the job done.
Hi Logan - If you don’t win, I can make you your own FlyHub XL. Let me know
I think I would tie the broke back crawl daddy by Kelly Gallop. Thanks for the tying tips. Really enjoying the videos helping me alot in my tying looking forward to the next one. Thanks for sharing.

I tie bead head buggers in a production style. Beads on hooks, then tails then besides and hackle. Some great tips thanks!
Another great vid Brian. In the process of relocation my tying area, good tips to get/keep things organized. As you know bass season is quickly approaching here in MO, I got some game changes to tie up commercial style!
Great video as always. I like tieing any articulated streamer in steps, for example Andreas Anderson’s Sid.
I just started fishing freshwater again out here in Hawaii and I found out that we have some monster bluegill here in our reservoir so I'm going to be tying mini poppers like it's my job soon haha. Great video! I'm definitely going to use these tips thanks!!!
Solid advise Brian. I'm going to production tie some mop flies next.

Circus peanuts all day everyday. Another great informative video.

Thanks for all the tips Brian.. love all the videos.. I would tie a murdich minnow in a product setting..
Great tips. I’m going to tie up some Hula Damsels in steps to try them out.
I’ve been getting more and more into production tying. Still time consuming with the gamechangers and jerkchangers I’m mostly tying.
Always digging your videos Brian.
Thanks for the tips! The Fly Hub XL would help as I attempt some Game Changers for the first here soon!
Awesome work as always Brian! With spring coming up I definately need to stock up on my double decievers as well as craftfur baitfish!
Oh and I was shocked (for lack of a better word) by your playlist…really different to the music in your videos.
Another great video as always ! Thanks Brian!!!
Love all the tips, I would like to make a production line of game changers.
Great video Brian.. I have tried to do some of the same kind of thi gs you mention but just have not totally figured it all out. I have had magnets stuck the corner of my wall while I work on other flies.
I will take all the tips I can get! I need to tie Dahlberg Divers in a production setting.
Awesome video with great information! Im definitely going to be using these tips to hopefully improve my tying ! I think Ill start with a stimulator pattern since thats what I use the most of!
Glad I found your page , now to start binging 😂😂😂
@@jefferyswails6899 Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I’ll be tying some Sid’s pretty soon in that style!

I've been using the cheap carabiners off Amazon to keep things together. Great tips, btw.
Gonna do 10 Knucklehead deep. I have issues with the foam trimming.(Over trimming) Here we go! And like you the Woodford never hurts.
I’m production tying Whitlocks Sheep Minnow; love that streamer hanger! Great videos dude!
Awesome tips. Great content man.
Awesome tip like what u said about the sex dungeon. Have same issue with deer hair. Love the tip. Going to try that in tying multiple flys 👍
Nice MS slammer on the shelf! Love to throw big baits and fly fish :)
The Fly Hub is a very cool item. A production pattern I would use it for would be Flexo crab's and eyes on Clouser's.
Been tying mini Sids in red/white to chase some Ozark pickerel! ;)
Brian I love your Spotify playlist, you need to add some Billy Strings to it though. 👍
Thank you very much, lot of good information that I needed
I love to tie, but I suck at it 🙃
Hopefully, some day
Thanks Brian 😊

I tie scuds and sow bugs in a production manner, because it's easier to maintain proportions on uv epoxy when you do multiple in a row.
I really need to step up my tying game
I need to work on my deer hair trimming and spring streamer season is right around the corner, so a dozen Sex Dungeons it is!
Great information. Thank you.
Keep up having fun
@northerriversflyfish
I would tie my mullet Hollow Fleye.
As I need to get better as the Molloway season is only months away 👍
Great tips
I'd tie some articulated mouse patterns in production mode. I can't remember the pattern name but I catch a lot of fish on them
I’m going to tie articulated poppers for bass.
I would probably be stage tying my pst sculpin on that sucker. It can be a Pain at times but I get through it
I am going to tie 25 deer hair poppers so I get better!
I suck at deer hair, maybe I should try that
Really like that T, any why to get one without joining Instagram ? Thanks for the tips !
Good question! www.woolybuggerflyco.com/
@@flyfishingtheozarks Thanks !
Great video , awesome tips , but where’s Kevin?
I’m only 17, but my back issues limit my time on the vise. My back gets so bad from sitting down for awhile, so I have to take breaks here and there.
I am going to tie up a bunch of Chubby Chernobyl’s for a trip in July
Hey, great tips Brian. But seriously ‘your age’ ? It doesn’t change when my age either! 😂
I tie a fly I designed my self, articulated and it swims like a fluke. I tie them gray over white, olive over yellow, all black, etc....
Clouser minnows and Deceivers
Im in Canada, would not expect to have you mail anything to me. It is enough to watch your advice and information
I would use the hub for game changers.
