Cool video however, this guy is clearly a display fanatic and has lost some perspective from a lot/the majority of buyers - at least thats my small opinion.
I've put over 200 hours into the LG 32GS95UE, after upgrading from a budget/mid 1440p 144hz monitor - which I think lots of these buyers will be upgrading from. I was honestly blown away with the monitor, 4k looks amazing and 240hz is a somewhat noticeable difference compared with 144hz... But the difference from 240hz to 480hz was wayyy more than I was expecting. Honestly feels like 75hz to 120hz. I play a lot of competitive games (cs2, overwatch, R6 etc) so this difference is very welcomed. I agree that this would only give you a very small advantage, but the overall feel is better. I've often found myself double checking I was in 240hz mode, after long gaming sessions in 480hz, as 240hz felt 'laggy' and thought I may have been lower... but no. Highly recommend this monitor for you sweaty gamers.
Now I rarely use hdr in games or video and this isn't something I really care about tbh, so I can understand his points about colour brightness if you want this monitor for that.
The deep blacks with WOLED are brilliant, and I haven't had any complaints with the colour, everything looks good to my eyes.
A big surprise, coming from an IPS monitor, was text clarity. I know QD-OLED is even worse but I thought the WOLED would've been better than it is - text just seems a bit more smudged than it should be, but you soon get use to it and isn't a problem after some time - but definitely should be noted.
Now luckily I got this monitor with some discount codes for £950 direct from LG, and think this is probably an ideal price for it - as I personally don't believe its RRP of £1300 is worth it. So make sure you find some discount codes, or maybe check with your employer for any reward schemes.
All in all, if your a competitive gamer who scales down res/quality for more FPS you'll love this monitor - literally a 2 in 1.
I guess if your a monitor nerd (for a lack of a better term) wanting the best colour experience with all the best features and only plays casual games etc... yeah buy something else.
*edit: forgot to mention about the matt coating - it's literally fine. I'm assuming most of us live in houses with windows and hate looking into a mirror when we want to see a computer screen - so I'd happily take a matt screen over looking at my ugly mug.

I think matt coating its only for people that cant manage ambient light and for 1080p monitors that can have some "saw" on the edges of things that can be
attenuated by the matt coating... maybe even 1440p has a little "saw" in some games, but 4K man, Matt coating in 4k is useless.

  • @viniciusaraujo4298

I think this review is missing the point of the LG. In my eyes, it is a jack of all traits, which does lots of things really well, but not the best at anything. Which is for me quite compelling.
Often when buying monitors I have to chose what I want to prioritize: high refresh rate for my CS2? Great color reproduction for my 4K gaming and work (I'm a designer).
If I want that color reproduction, this ain't the monitor, if I want that high-refresh rate, this ain't the monitor, if I want both and am ok with compromising slightly on each end, this is absolutely the monitor!
On the mate vs glossy. I agree that glossy is better, and I do wish this monitor had a glossy version of it. I do have a light controlled room though, so that would be my preference.

The Asus PG32UCDM performs worse than the MSI 321URX if you do the comparison on RTINGS, particularly color accuracy. The MSI can also peak >1000 nits and has various FW updates. Additionally, the Asus is $1000 AUD more than the 321URX here in Aus, hence being a rip-off. So, why is it S-Tier?

  • @jeanm182
    @jeanm182 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Just want to point out I bought the Alienware recently and it does not come with the latest firmware, you have to update it.
I own the lg and the Alienware and I have to say the AW looks better but I wouldn’t say the lg is bad, the speakers are very decent for a monitor though not compared to an studio display sound. The AW doesn’t have sound so for me that’s a drawback as I don’t like to have my headphones on all the time
I’d also like to know why the asus is the best compared to the A tier, every monitor here is plastic so material quality is kinda ass regardless, and besides dp 2.1 or having a 90-100 charger (which unless you have a MacBook is kinda pointless in a gaming monitor), why does that one has the edge? Is the image quality that good?

Ummm, if I had to give this tier list a tier list, I'd give it a "D"... Maybe even an "F", if I had the option for it.
But in all seriousness, you're focusing way too much on some aspects of these monitors while forgetting the other aspects.
Let's start with the PG32UGCM: a couple of issues here is the price and the warranty. We all know ASUS hates honoring their warranty. I also think you really glazed over that price; $1300.00+taxes and fees is really not budget friendly considering just a few of the perks it comes with... And Dolby Vision isn't that much of a selling point on console gaming, either, for how wildly inaccurate it is in gaming. Also, nobody in their right mind would consider dropping money on any of these monitors for a console when consoles are literally built around being used on high-end TVs, such as the LG B, C, and G series. All of that being said, I do like the idea of uniform brightness in HDR and SDR, but that feature does scare away a bit if ASUS doesn't honor its warranty. I'd rank this monitor at high-A tier, assuming ASUS actually honored it's warranty if anything ever went wrong... Otherwise, it's more like an low A-tier.
Moving on to the MSI monitors, these guys are great budget high-end monitors that simply belong in B tier for what they offer and do not offer; the cheaper one in low-B tier for it's lack of PD.
As for Dell's Alienware monitor... Dude. This guy comes with Dolby Vision and you glossed over that as you valued it??? Like wtf??? Again, it's not that big of a deal, but I'm starting to think that ASUS has you sponsored or something. 😂 Anyway... This monitor also has Dolby Atmos and HDMI 2.1 eARC. What other monitor has that??? Not to mention, Dell actually honors their warranties. I will also say this about it's curved screen: you either love it or hate it, it seems, but it honestly doesn't affect much either way as it's barely a curve, anyway. But the BIG selling point on this guy is the $999.99 price tag... I mean, that's pretty insane given what it has. I just wish it also had built-in KVM and PD. So, I'd have to rate this guy at mid-A tier.
Auros is a solid pick like the MSI's, but with a few more features. Honestly, both of them belong in low A-tier for their price to permance. I don't think you're future proofing yourself here as these displays will be upgraded in the future and that DP 2.1 will be seen later on down the road when it becomes actually useful. 😅
As for the LG one... Eh, I agree with you. Matte coatings suck and dual mode is cute, but doesn't really work very well on this monitor. Also the color is trash on this monitor compared to the other ones. This one I'd put at a low-C tier. I can't wait to see its glossy version come out, though. I think it'd make this monitor significantly better.
In general, I wouldn't give a single one of these monitors an "S" tier as that spot is reserved for the perfect monitor that has strengths in entertainment, productivity, display, , bells and whistles, and, dare I say, is budget friendly and has a good company to back it up. Of course, all of this absurdly nitpicky, they're all great monitors!

I don't know why 32in is the "standard" because it's just too huge for most desks, including less "quality", more power required for 4k, thus less performance etc. Harder to see everything if gaming. I just don't understand it.

The display of the 32GS95UE is awful. I’ve been using LG IPS displays for years and was excited to use it. Build quality is great, speakers sounded good. It was my first OLED monitor. I was on the current latest firmware and the black crush was obnoxious along with the awful uniformity and color banding. It was so awful I was going to go back to an IPS display. Then read a technical article explaining how QD-OLED’s technology resolved the black crush issue of WOLED. Picked up the 3225QWF and couldn’t be happier. Main reason I purchased the Alienware was due to Dolby Vision/earc and their fantastic warranty. The plastic is crappy and it cracks and pops often due to the expanding and contracting but it’s worth it for the hassle free warranty.

Let’s see… bad HDR on all of these monitors compared to OLED TVs. Purple tint on QD-OLED blacks if you don’t live in your mom’s basement, which literally goes against the point of OLED. Horrible gaming aesthetics. Semi-glossy coating being extremely fragile. Matte still being matte, but this circle jerk hate is blown out of proportion because these “glossy” finishes are a joke compared to actual glossy monitors like Apple’s Studio or an LG TV. Tbf none of these are end game monitors. If I were to rank them, they’d be identical since they all have flaws in some way.
