  • This lesson focuses on what to do when you come upon a patient who has just fainted. Fainting is defined as a temporary loss of consciousness that's usually related to temporary insufficient blood flow to the brain. Fainting is also referred to as syncope, blacking out, or passing out.

i was literally in a faint state for 2 hours during our class roadtrip, it felt so awful, i couldn't even lay down, there was no space for me to put my legs up or whatever, i somehow just barely managed to get through it and i fainted when i managed to lay down at home

Thank you for the dialogue examples you provide. I find it helps guide through the path of assessment and providing care. Knowing what to say, how and when to say it, are useful to smoothly navigate through the stages of first aid.

One time I was really sick and I got up because I felt like it was a head ache so I went to get ibuprofen and I started feeling really dizzy. I was trying to set down my water bottle and I completely missed the counter, I some how stumbled into bed before this static noise completely prevented me from hearing but I was in my bed and could move or open my eyes. I slowly got better and felt normal.

I just fainted minutes ago I woke up fine but as I was combing my hair I felt lightheaded and dizzy so I lay on the couch I could also hear ringing in my ears also feeling nauseous then later I went to get my breakfast but I felt the dizziness and lightheaded again so I wanted to rest on the couch again but I was blacked out and I fainted near my glass table in the living room. 😢

I sometimes faint because of low bloodpressure, but luckily I can lay on the ground on time. Is there anything to prevent this? I once needed to lay down at my college :/

if you didnt already, seek a doctors advice as soon as possible.
Thats nothing to be taken lightly, what if you aint able to lay on the ground in time and you are alone at home?

@@Sepilein1 I can feel it building up, so it usually starts with cramps, headache.. then I start to feel dizzy. I’m quite lucky that I have this pattern before I go down , so I’ve actually only fainted 2 in my whole life despite feeling the symptoms perhaps 4 times the year. My doctor told me not to worry

@@chris_atiny you say you are in college?
so you must be quite young, id say ask 1-2 other doctors for their opinion if you cant say it comes from eating/drinking too little.
If it was like once or twice id agree, but if it comes back even only 4 times a year...that seems like something one shouldnt ignore.
i dont often go to the doctor myself, but with anything that possible involves either the heart or the brain you shoudnt joke around.
I know 4 People, who just passed away around the age of 45 due to heart problems, and all of them didnt take it srsly.
in the end Its your decision, but your life should be worth a few more trips to doctors. Especially while you have it or shortly after...most doctors would agree that its always worth talking about stuff that concerns you.
