I learned ventilation 30 years ago from a very skilled toupee artist, I was thirteen at the time and had a strong interest in hair replacement,a full lace wig typically would take me 6 weeks to four months depending on the length of the hair,style, and ventilation technique,I learned making toupees, so it typically didn't take as long to ventilate.I was thirteen at the time and learned to do integration systems first,then weft making,then closures and so on and so forth, ventilation is a art,not really a skill.It is time consuming and but the end result is amazing, I don't suggest start ventilation for the expectation of making thousands of dollars making custom wigs, unfortunately the business changed where these units are mass produced in the Asian markets, however it is excellent to learn so that you can at least customize or make your own wigs the way you want them, you can also repair and ventilate old wigs,which is not nearly as time consuming, another reason to learn ventilation is to prevent having wigs made out of degraded hair,most mass produced wigs are made from the worst human hair available, but you can choose whatever hair you want,if you are making the wig, saving you thousands of dollars,if you are new to ventilation start off small and never rush your work.
