Another great tutorial Christian. I began to lose it after several minutes with all the masking techniques but that is what makes your videos so interesting and for me motivational to get out there and take more photos. The composition to begin with is very impressive. Another thumbs up from me 👍.

Christian, this is an epic inspiration of the landscape photography adjustments in Lightroom that are being implemented by the masking treatment. The photo is glowing splendid and beautifully executed with a distinctive look of contrast.
Your brilliant presentation is so helpful and inspiring to me! I am very grateful for your remarkable performance!

Yep, separation it's the key in post production to have a really good photo and it's no sense a global editing. In my opinion Lightroom or Camera Raw are a good start point to create a good base for edit your images, but personally for separation and the rest of editing i use PS with luminosity mask that allow me more precision and depth on my images, where i can also apply other effect/layer adjustment. Also in Photoshop you can use Groups with your layers and apply them Smart Objects and other stuffs that are difficult to apply in LR or CR, in PS you can change the blend mode of your layers, and this is not possible in LR and CR. All these steps/feature in PS allow a better result that LR/CR to separate your image.
The downside it's that requires more editing skills and PS knowledge.

What self-respecting photographer would only do global edits? Even just hitting the "auto" button doesn't just use "global" adjustments.

at 18:23 wow that looks incredibly oversharpened... one thing I wish you wouldn't do because the rest of the tips are awesome, other than those awful artifacts introduced by too much sharpening.
