no you are not. I am 48 years old and also very sensitive to spirits. I have had many paranormal experiences. The last place I expected to have one was here with my 4 year old son. There was a very negative spirit in my face and then it felt like it was breathing down my neck. This happened just after the part where you walk outside, in the hallways where there is nothing but wall. Having grown up in a haunted house, I am pretty hard to scare. But I took my son's hand and ran out of there rebuking it in the name of Jesus. My husband was waiting for us outside and he said I was white as a sheet. The feeling left after a few steps outside. I really couldn't find anything on the internet about it being genuinely haunted, but there have been so many battles fought around here. There are little monuments all over kennywood about George Washington being there, so who knows how many people could have died on those grounds.
i have been on Noah's Ark twice. once as a four year old, and once as a fifteen year old. i've been damn scared of this hellhole since i was four, if that says anything about that... they redid it to be a lot less scary last year and this was the first time i've ever gone through it the whole way. i was shaky legged and nervous the whole way...
I miss this version of the Ark, used to scare the shit out of me as a kid, the elevator breaking down and walking over the skeletons with the glass floor was creepy, on top of the submarine part i always thought a giant squid or something was gonna burst through the walls and eat me! lol
I miss the Goldrusher, although the new version of the Old Mill uses a lot of Goldrusher props. While it isn't quite as good as I remember Goldrusher being I still appreciate it. Sadly I'm too young to have gotten to ride Le Cachot, looks like it was a great ride though and given how much I like Waldameer's Wacky Shack and Knobles dark rides with similar effects I think it would have been a favourite of mine and I'm sad I never got to ride it. I fully support the decision to bring back the whale's mouth on Noah's Ark for capacity's sake but I would've liked to see some of the darker elements of this version kept in place.
I remember when I was maybe 6 or 7 the underwater part (mainly when the Alarm started going off) would scare me to death. The funniest memory I have with that is I had plastered myself against the wall, scared of the water not knowing the doors were there and when they opened I fell back and tumbled to the funnel cake stand.
Yes they did, I think it malfunctioned and broke, and Kennywood park had too many complaints about it recently. They changed it in I think 2013 or 2012.
Yes, it's a bummer. Was a super fun part of the experience. A lot of Kennywood's "renovations" are kinda crappy imo. I don't care for Garfield's Nightmare. Should've left the Old Mill there. And while Ghostwood Estates is cool and all, it's certainly no Old Mine.
Jennifer McDonald Six Flags Over Texas used to have an awesome Cave Ride (The Spee-Lunker Cave) with a lot of personality and charm, and they changed it to a Looney Tunes ride. It wouldn’t be a bad ride if it hadn’t replaced a classic. The Spee-Lunker Cave inspired Walt Disney to create Pirates of the Caribbean! I just watched a video of the Old Mine and it looks very similar to the Spees.
That 2 note flute sound is burned into my memory forever. Old Noah looked so damn evil looking down at you i never went in as i was too little and a scardey cat then. then i moved and never got the chance, but this ride always facinated me since i was a kid. Thx for the tour vid.
ok first of all it feels weird replying to a comment over 10 years old but… mine too. i don’t know what happened to it the past four years but it got weaker and then it just stopped. i wish it would be turned back on. that and the bayern kurve horn. both are gone. it makes me so sad
I went on a long time ago. I was terrified. I was screaming and crying. I'm still scared of it. And, you know that place near it where you sit and eat? Yeah, whenever I eat there, the Noah's Ark noise annoys me. Heres an example: -takes a fry and dips it in my cheese- BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! -looks at Noah's ark while eating fry- BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! -starts getting annoyed- BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Me: OMG STOP BEEPING
i went on it at age four and bailed asap due to how scared i was. i went on today at age fifteen and tried to bail at every exit (despite the not-as-scary refurbishing) but my friends all pulled me back down the hall. i'm still not a fan of this hellhole lol
I like the Noah's Arc ride as it is today. Personally its fun to have all the spookiness coming at you. Not to mention, its a huge maze to walk through!
I have looked all over the web for Noah singing his "Noah is my name" song (I have never been to K-wood but saw it on an old amusement park documentary). Does ANYONE know of a recording somewhere?
+Sir Fduck Amen! Glad this stupid elevator is coming out and hoping they get rid of the underwater tank or whatever that is supposed to be at the end of the ride
@idkjade Me too. The part I freaked out at was the flooding chamber. I was younger back then, so I got the misconception that it was actually flooding and I ran to the door at the end and tried to open it, but the wheel wouldn't turn.
Sorry for the DC, but I used to think that if you missed a stone on that part with the skeletons toward the begining, you'd fall in. And sometimes on that flood part at the end, I don't think you always get wet like you used to. And at the end, it's really a good psychological technique to have Kennywood a manager say there's a flood instead of just some wierd vioice. Then noobs think that something is really wrong and it's not just the ride. Awesome vid!
Did they take out the animals that used to circle the ark on train tracks? Cant tell. And whats with that elevator. I loved walking into the whale's mouth. Use to sit and bounce across bouncing floor, where you hear the native's drums.
Im 36. I guess I DON'T remember the actual original, but I liked it better before they changed it from the whales mouth. Weren't there aquariums of fish inside the whale at one time?
@xsingingstarr yeah I know, I think they are redoing that part or something I dont know why its closed, I was there yesterday and it was still closed, it was always the fun part
I haven't been on this ride since the 70's. Family members would always drag me into it. I hated it. I remember a giant flourescent spider popping up in front of me and I stopped for fear of something else like that and the family behind me were trying to push me forward so they could get through the ride. Everything was flourescent back then. Also the floor would slide back and forth really fast under your feet and THAT would scare me (I was little). The stairs might have moved in some way too.
I was in the one in Blackpool when I was small - was kinda fun the way the floor moved. Didn't know there was as second one - It was powered by a very old and fancy steam? engine you got to see working as you left - the Arc is still operational today - only you are not allowed inside (probably health and safety) - its over the place where you buy tickets to enter the park.
This is a lot spookier than the Blackpool version! That one just had cute lions and other pretend animals. Unfortunately the ride's closed now but it is still there and you can't go on it.
I was at kennywood last Sunday. Did Noah's ark and didn't hear any sound effects after we exited the elevator. Also its so dark in that first part that we went around the skeleton floor part twice. I didn't see any of those arrows or signs on the walls.
When I went on this when I was 6, I wanted to get out so bad, but my parents wouldn't let me go, but I tried to go thru the emergency exit, ONCE, but my parents stopped me. So my dad carried me most of the way. :p

I just had to watch this video online and I now see that this ride was longer. Good thing anyhow cause my kids were so scared. There should be a sign warning u that your kids will be scared so they know not to go on. I felt so bad. I was like "im sorry. I didnt know"
Am I the only one who was scared to go through Noah's Ark? Because I couldn't even get through half of it.
I know it's just a fun house but I just couldn't go through the whole entirety of it.

I really miss this version of the ark. Thank you so much for capturing this and sharing it.
You're welcome! :)

LMAO this happened to me too! I was screaming
I wish Kennywood still had dark rides that they didn't turn kid friendly.
One of them's coming back this year (The Old Mill).
I do too. it sucks the park is almost entirely for kids now.
This version of the ride is the most nostalgic for me. The new version of the ride is still good, but nothing will ever be as good as this.
Does anyone have the transcript of the Kennywood Flooding Chamber at 7:55 ?
Because i don't understand what they're saying because i'm French.
I’m glad I was born in 1989, I got to experience this masterpiece at it’s prime. My little sister and I loved this with our parents.
Wait, I was just there two days ago, I never saw the last part where the water was caving in. Did they change it since 2007?
Yes they did, I think it malfunctioned and broke, and Kennywood park had too many complaints about it recently. They changed it in I think 2013 or 2012.
BonzaijoePA
I see. Thanks for letting me know.

I went on it when I was littler and I think I was crying on the elevator
i went on it at age four and bailed asap due to how scared i was.
i went on today at age fifteen and tried to bail at every exit (despite the not-as-scary refurbishing) but my friends all pulled me back down the hall.
i'm still not a fan of this hellhole lol
I think they cut the elevator part and the wall with the water coming towards them. The last time I was there it was so freaking short!!!
I like the Noah's Arc ride as it is today. Personally its fun to have all the spookiness coming at you. Not to mention, its a huge maze to walk through!
i remember going on this version 10 years ago. much scarier than the version now. the one now is shorter and has been updated a lot

To this day, this version of the ride has scarred me since I was a kid. I refuse to go on it unless I'm forced to😂
When I was 8 I was so scared I went out the emergency door at 4:59 and shut the ride down for hours.
J. Elizabeth yeah this ride used to be terrifying the elevator was so realistic feeling now toddlers don’t even get scared
kennywoodjoe what video camera were you using in this video I'm curious
kennywoodjoe what camera did you use to film these videos
@Ninjaboyz128 not a good idea, this is an old classic ride from 1936, we dont want to make this park too modern, its nice how it is
is the elevator not there anymore?
When the hell did they change this, I was just there in 1978....oh
War Monger They changed it so the Whale is back
I love this ride, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new changes. I'm watching this as a reminder of how I've known Noah's Ark growing up.
It's so sad - they're really letting this ride go... The new glow paint in the tilting room is ugly.
they're renovating it next year and are bringing back the whales mouth and new scenes
+Sir Fduck Amen! Glad this stupid elevator is coming out and hoping they get rid of the underwater tank or whatever that is supposed to be at the end of the ride
mvol5973 I think the tank will be gone too. They're giving it a classic funhouse feel.
Looks like a spoke house not Noah's Ark .... And what was that head on top of the ark?
man! how often do you go to kennywood?
In 2011, in-between when this video was taken and the 2016 revamp, they shortened it so the exit was right after the rattlesnake jumpscare at 7:03.
@idkjade Me too. The part I freaked out at was the flooding chamber. I was younger back then, so I got the misconception that it was actually flooding and I ran to the door at the end and tried to open it, but the wheel wouldn't turn.
What happened to the whale at the end?
This was when the funhouse wasn’t so fun... they made it a funhouse with the whale. It isn’t scary anymore, it was great when it was.
cool, somebody who's very obsessed about kenntwood just like me! i'm in love with the carousel, it's like the soul of the whole park
I love the room right before the last with the blinking lights that make pictures if you glance at them real fast! I think that's so freaking cool! =]
This brought back memories I wish I could go back too.

I get to go to kennywood tomorrow for a school picnic for the first time in over 6 years Yayy!!
I don't get why Noah's ark is not scary anymore
@kennywoodjoe It burned down?? I've been out of state now for 9 years and used to be a Kennywood regular but dang that's not cool. I agree, those were awesome dark rides! We only have one in Denver and it's kinda like Ghostwood but not as detailed if you ask me.
I'm so glad I wasn't forced to go on this when I went as a little kid. I woulda been scared to death!

ever notice when theres a large group, people walk slow as hell? That pisses me off so much

me and my friend were at the front of the line when i went with him this summer and let me tell ya we didnt take this long! good times! thanks for the video 5/5!
its still really dangerous, the boat is freaking rockin back and forth and they make you walk down steps with a rope thats too low to hold onto :(

I think they should replace this into an Aperture Science Portal Testing Tours ride.
I see why the elevator failed...
there are some BIG MAMAS on there !!!

I remember when this was fun, now it's all fished them not even scary!
This house of horrors gave me nightmares for at least 5 days as a 7 year old. I didn't even make it through the whole thing.
I remember that, I alway's got scared when u got to that part when you had to cross the rickety bridge ove the river.
I almost had a spaz attack the first time I got to the water part. I thought the place was really going to flood. :P
the room at 7:20 is cool if u know what to look for
More old Noah’s ark videos pleaseeeeee!
Wow they really changed that ride up....haven't been out to pittsburgh in about 15 years...looks nice just too bad they took out that jungle type room with the crocks
