    I hate to admit how many pickles I’ve gotten myself into in the mountains. On a Vulcan no less. It starts with “I wonder where this one goes” and proceeds from there. When the dirt turns into rock, oh my. You hope it gets better around the bend, and sometimes it does. Looking at the trail thinking I can’t even turn this thing around and it sure is a long way down. I’ll never forget just stopping, perched on top of a boulder, no trail in site... but I could see a road. Yup. Took a seat and just had to breathe a bit. Suffice it to say, I can relate. Made it down and I think I may have kissed the ground. Pavement never looked so good! Welcome to the Rockies! 😎

    Thanks for video. Key is to ride with people who share a common sense with yours. Say because of experiences I had with other riders who even not having more technique and level would still keep going or try to ahead in a situation like yours. Also with heavy bike like the GS which is also not helping. Think if not knowing the road better have a better assessment or find another. Good that it ended well for you. Avoiding injury.

    Video doesn’t show how hard or steep the trail was or how long you were on it, but from what I saw you make it harder going uphill buy stopping so often on the hill. I’m 63 and rode all day through tough trails in Colorado. Momentum is your friend. Big bikes need to keep moving Or you’ll drop em on hills

    Exellent video. I love CO. Been in many parts of it. We just rode the 160 on our '18 Goldwing DCT Tour Airbag from Bayfield to Wolfcreek Pass, Southfork and Creede and back all in a day. Such nice areas to ride. Yours are more off road so, you have/had great scenery too. Thank you for taking the time to video this beautiful ride and area. Maybe someday I'll get to do the same.

    Tim seems to have the patience of Job , would love to see the video where Tim actually loses it and starts throwing some rocks around and says a four letter word or two , instead he calmly sits down , relaxes , regroups ,and goes on , i think we can all learn something from that , P.S. Cody , aka "the midnight rider", doesn't like early morning rising .. i m pretty sure he knows all the of the four letter words by heart , and can recall them anytime ,anyplace ..but he is probably a great friend to have on your side when involved in a random bar fight or struggling through an ugly trail ✌

    • @FTAAdventures
      @FTAAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LOL I am incredibly patient, Cody and I were talking about that on this trip. I did actually have a few melt downs, next time I will try to catch those on film, although they are more just sitting down and saying calmly how bad something sucks LOL

    • @2wheelsandatent
      @2wheelsandatent 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian you crack me up every time bro lol 😂
      Tim is hard to rattle I have to give home props seriously I’m not sure if it’s living off the bike or what that has taught him to calmly walk through tough things but I admire the hell out of him for that!
      I do know and have invented a few four letter words hahah
      As to being a good friend I thank you for that and if you mean do I have a buddy’s back in any situation the answer is (insert four letter word here...) YES I do lol.
      Although I am to old to fight any more unless it’s for our lives lol.
      Most fighting these days is me fighting my damn bike hahah
      Cheers Brian!

    Looked like a hard day. That might have been a good road for a smaller dirt bike, but not so much for 2 loaded heavy bikes. Do you know why the town was there? Mining? Passage through the mountains? Good adventure, mission accomplished. 👍😎

      Nice job Tim, looks like you had good air. Lots of smoke in Colorado this year.

    The hard road that you took to Summitville - do you know the forest road number. I spend summers in South Fork CO. Just curious. I've done the easier

    So what was the first road you tried? Does it have a Forest Service road # or other designation?
