Thank you so much for this program. Ugandans are very accommodating but like in any other society that are on the other side of the story. Urbanization will push those who cannot afford to urban living conditions. It's Eritreans pushing people away, urbanization.
guys, there is no point complaining about any body. The best way is to guide your brothers and sisters through brilliant lessons and after all Rule of law is there to enforce right things. hatred among each other will never be a good solution to any of our problems.❤ Thanks❤❤
In the Netherlands where I live they passed a law making it impossible to deposit guarantee rent for more than two months. Most of the mentioned issues are more common than you think all over the world, and as you said it can be dealt with by passing new laws to make the economy more fair for everyone.
The underlying issue is not their presence but how they conduct their business. They get remittances from their relatives abroad and they change the hard currency mostly in the black market and thus will have more local currency. This enables them to pay higher rent for the house they rented. For the limited supply of housing, this would likely crowd out locals who are not able to pay higher rents and thus either forced to pay higher or they will have to look for houses in the suburbs. There is similar situation in Ethiopia. To ensure justice for the locals the Eritrean community must exchange their currency in the official banks or they must be taxed for the income they are receiving in the form of remittance. Either or both of these measures will create a level playing field and their presence will not harm locals.
I have a question for the UGANDA. There's a lot of people from all over the world in uganda. Why the pinpoint two ERITREAN??? SOMALIA, INDIA, ETHIOPIA, AND OTHER......
The locals did not voice any complaints about the behavior of South Sudanese while they lived in Uganda. Some Ugandans believe that Eritreans are starting to engage in prostitution. However, the truth is that Eritreans are hardworking and intelligent. This has led some Ugandans to feel envious because they feel unable to compete with them. Let's not be unkind, Uganda. Eritreans are your brothers and sisters. They fled their country because of tyranny. We are all Africans, so let’s avoid hate speech.
You raised a fair review on the case! Thank you man! Stay safe from California
