Because Little Imogen comes from a privileged background, and is used to getting EXACTLY what she wants, WHEN she wants it from an early age. And daddy probably addressed her as "My Little Princess" every day of her privileged Little life. Riding her Little Pony round the paddock is not quite enough for Little Imogen, she has to show the wider community how special she is too, so invariably, Little Princess Imogen will come into contact with Peasants, whom she has been conditioned to think are inferior to her, and NO WHERE NEAR as important, especially when it comes to who ought to take precedence on a public highway. In Imogen's World, NOBODY is as important as she is, except maybe the Royal Family, who are just a SMIDGE more important than Imogen!

From a farming family, so that narcissistic rider encounter made me sigh. I grew up around people who rode horses to do their work: ranch hands, back-country packers, real cowboys. While most of my encounters with recreational riders have been pleasant, there were a few who barely seemed to notice us when we met on a trail or unpaved road. Gorgeous farm and animals; thanks for sharing them with us!

They have just put the stock on the hundred foot washlands next to me in Cambridgeshire and the sounds and smells take me back to my holidays on the farm. The winter was wet and the washlands were well flooded so I had the geese and swans in the winter and now the grazing is top notch with all the fertile silt washed down. Very true. A few years ago on a Friday night I was rowing up Haylage on a Friday evening when I had a breakdown. I needed a part welded & rang my son who was working 7 miles away. As I was driving to where he was on a narrow road I came up behind 4 female cyclists riding 4 abreast & filling the road. After driving quietly behind them for about a quarter of a mile I gave the horn a quick beep. Two of them turned round & gave me dirty looks but they pulled over into single file & I ambled past. As I drew alongside one of them gave me the V sign. I drove on a bit & then stopped. When they came up I said “I appreciate you’re in leisure mode ladies but some of us out here in the countryside are working”. The one who’d given me the fingers said “What fool is working at this time on a Friday night?” I replied “Just the fools who are producing your food” She was a bit red faced & apologised. They others laughed at her. Hopefully a lesson learnt.

I saw an owl in my garden for the first time sitting on the line in my garden the other night, knew it was an owl by the silhouette made me so happy that it graced me with its presence. One thing I love is the baa-ing of sheep! The different tones you hear really crack me up. Sorry about the rude, impatient rider. Haven't ridden for years but I was always courteous to drivers and pedestrians, it's not too much to ask courtesy in return, is it?
I have also started moving my small flock of sheep a lot more often - every two to three days. Seems to work well for the sheep and the grass is keeping at a good level. I saw your video on worms during the drought. I am being much more systematic with poo samples this year - once every 4 weeks with separate samples for ewes, glimmers and lambs, then follow up samples if any have had treatment to check it has worked. It’s going really well. Last year was dreadful - lost lambs and others loosing form really badly. But also used loads of wormers. Thanks for the videos. Much appreciated.
Hi Chris, I have horses and the horse she was riding would have probably spooked at the sheep. That being said, I try to train my horses to get used to those things. I live in the u.s. but I would think with so many sheep in the area that she would have a thought of that. We all need to share this earth of ours and be kind.
Horse riding in the UK is very different from where you live, Anna: There are nearly 70,000,000 humans on these little islands, with an area approximately the same size as Kansas. Owning a horse here is exceptionally expensive, and therefore the pool of people who do regularly ride skews towards the overprivileged with a sense of self-entitlement.
I know next to nothing about farming but that looked great. Moving all those sheep and them not going where they wanted was impressive. Some people on horses feel very entitled in my experience and need to get of their high horse now and again and remember we are not all la di da leather and tweed. Keep doing your thing mate!

I was working in the new forest cleaning the highways drains once. Yes the truck is noisy and there was a lot of movement going on. A lady came down the road leading a horse and I could see that she was very nervous and that was going through to the horse. I turned the truck off, just to be nice. She started to loose it and was shouting that the horse will not go past the truck. I calmly walked over and had a very short convo about the horse and how pretty he was. Took the lead reign and walked the horse up to the truck, let him have a sniff and a touch then led him to his field all calm and collected. You should have seen the look on the woman's face lol. All the other blokes working all hid in there van lol.

Love what you're doing. Important. And to the WHY. People have different levels off empat and awareness.(ego, id, superego). Not everyone have the ability to see what's happening around them. You will find them everywhere.
What baffles me is that the horseriders expect me to go slow, and only overtake the horse by giving it a wide berth in a safe place...........fair enough, we've all entitled to use the road......and I've seen a horse write of a car with one kick.........but where I am baffled is that there is some rammely old horse-box trundling along at 20mph and they just carry on displaying no consideration for other motorists by pulling over and letting faster traffic pass every now and again. Consideration works two ways.
All of us, like sheep, have gone astray. For we are baaaa-aaa-ed. Each of us has turned to his own way; and this wrongdoing has fallen upon the shoulders of the superseriousshepherd. Amen and amen.
My dad was an old time Police Officer in London. And he gave me a piece of advice. "Always remember. "There's more outside the Mental Hospital than are in". That's always answered any questions I've had. 😉
I don't know anything about sheep farming, but I can imagine they must make you laugh sometimes. Their voices and antics made me smile, thanks for the video.
I grew up with Morgans. We rode and drove on roads and our horses were super chill. I’d be nervous at first, but my mom sad they were fine. If you are the nervous, then you wait for others. If you dive, be ready to swim. Unrelated, I love how the sheep jump over the little ditch
Horse riders/owners are (thankfully) not all as the individual in your your video, but yes, I've come across a number of these 'charmers' over the years; methinks they have the saddle mounted in reverse, ergo, they are sitting on the horn......
Having started riding at the age of 4 I am always very careful around horses whilst out driving, just a few short years ago driving a lorry through Essex just off the A120 I brought my lorry to a crawl behind two horses waited for a safe gap in the oncoming traffic to pass and swung wide as I started to swing out the young lead horse with novice rider started to play up not seriously but as a driver it caused some concern. There was a verge more the size of a green to the riders right, why they were not on this grass is perplexing however swinging right across the road I was able to pass at a safe distance to the troubled animal. Only to be met with a tirade of abuse from the second female rider. A hot day my window was down and as I was driving at the heady speed of five miles an hour I was able to reply. No swearing or personnel abuse was required a simple question as to what did this woman think she was doing riding a main road with a green horse with a novice rider on board of course more abuse flew in my direction , I did not listen just wished her good day and gave her a cheery wave.
I have been involved in horse riding and sheep farming - the two are completely compatible if people just behave themselves. If the rider is worried abut the horse's reaction to sheep then she really should not have it on the road.
Why ARE people like this⁉It’s happening all over the UK & much of the world❗People don’t behave respectfully any more❗We’ve got Karen’s, Kevin’s, entitled’s, SovCit’s & just a lot of people who only care about No:1❗Very sad but Great Video’s 👍
There are unfortunately a lot of horse riders like that who think the world revolves around them. I too am so considerate not to spook their horses but such consideration can be a one way thing. Thanks for sharing a little of your life, very enlightening. At least all this rain is giving unusually lush pasture for your flock!! Lol
I am Australian and I must say what beautiful grass land you have. So green and lush. With some of our cattle stations in the interior I honestly don't know what the poor creatures find to eat. I am a townie and don't really know about farming at all.I used to live in Gloucester NSW and we did get good years with plenty of rain and others where the rivers and creaks would dry up.One thing that did surprise me was, one day driving along a dirt road A rather large bull started running after my van on the other side of a fence, all of a sudden he jumped over about a mtr high fence clearing it and drainage ditch completely. It was time to put pedal to metal and go.
Had a friend whose parents lived in the middle of a game reserve. There were 2 buffalo that lived in the camp the house was in and they did not like cars. Made for some interesting dashes to the gate..
Can’t help but agree with you mate. I watched a local guy drive at oncoming traffic and shout abuse at them to make them stop because his missus was on a sketchy horse in front of him. No end of entitlement nowadays.
As a horseman, I know that a nervous female rider actually transmits that fear to the horse, and that was her problem, she thought the horse seeing sheep would shy, and the horse can sense her nervousness. It does seem odd to me because I have mustered large sheep herds on horseback and the horse was so calm.
TH-cam algorithm brought me here. No complaints. A good find! I've had issues with people on horses before when on the Mountain Bikes. Shouting at us. Telling us to move. That they have right of way.... On a mountain bike trail....
I love how people want to live and be in the countryside but don't want the countryside to happen anywhere near them!

Arrogant self-entitlement, but naff-all responsibility, or accountability for THEIR decision, when it all goes south !!
Love you and your family sir! Thank you for all you hard, wonderful work! You farmers are not getting the praise you deserve or the support you need. We the people need and love youse farmers, so thank you my friend, from me and my family, thank you!
There is always someone out to spoil your day. What a muppet !!!!
As a horse rider who rides on the road frequently, she should of waited. Of she felt unsafe on her horse she could of dismounted and got back on up the road. It's not that hard.
Love the videos.
should of?
could of?
Who taught you this?
The sentiment of the language was more important..than grammar…🤔🤔
She clearly wasn’t taught any manners or respect by her parents and that seems to be a problem with a lot of kids these days .
You don’t know ANYTHING about this person! Maybe she was just having a bad day. All these assumptions about her childhood, etc, are ridiculous.
Funny, I think that's more of a problem with older adults these days.
Society changed at some point didn't it? I actually don't think it's just a generational thing. Plenty of people from "the older generation" seem to behave equally as entitle. It's like somewhere along the way we forgot how to be nice to each other.
@@widearchshark3981 When it comes to the Older generation, I think the sense of entitlement is more prevalent amongst those from PRIVILEGED backgrounds, as they are used to having their own way a lot ofvthe time, and having people bow and scrape to them.
There are the odd exceptions amongst working class people, but we tend to think ofvthose as having "Delusions of Grandeur" a bit like the Hyacinth Buckét's of this world, who live in a Bungalow, with a white UPVC Picket Fence around the garden, and a Skoda Yetti on the drive.
Chris I think it alot of people who ride on the road, can't control (ride) their horses, so they panic as soon as anything out of the ordinary comes along.
Totally agree. Then the horse feeds of that anxious energy. Vicious cycle.
A working farm takes precedence over horse riders.
Don't make excuses for her...
If they don't feel like they have complete control of their horse, they shouldn't be on the road...
Bloody horse riders.
The percentage of arrogant entitled types on the back of those noble animals gets my goat.
Yep, i’ve had this same thing recently. Entitled Karen’s who think their concerns trump everything and everyone else! Pathetic, immature narcissists!
So, I guess you will know the Poems of Charles Badger Clark.
The cowboy poet, one of his poem's was made in to the song " Spanish is the loving tongue"
This is the most wholesome video I've seen in months, and popped up randomly in my feed.

I'd love to see more of the owls, my daughter loves them. Cheers and keep up the great work!
Me too
I live in the countryside and these are the sights and sounds every day l feel blessed life's good best wishes to you
They have just put the stock on the hundred foot washlands next to me in Cambridgeshire and the sounds and smells take me back to my holidays on the farm.
The winter was wet and the washlands were well flooded so I had the geese and swans in the winter and now the grazing is top notch with all the fertile silt washed down. Sounds like we’re both blessed. ❤
Horse women here 💁♀️ just wanna say we don't claim her as one of us 😅😂😂
😂😂 love it, one to remember for me.
Oh good! Some people are just tits.
I meet people on horses on rural Irish roads very often and without fail, they are super grateful that you slowed to let them pass, they give a wave and a smile and often a thank you too. I don't know what this woman in the video was about, just some entitled arsehole I guess. Plenty of those in cars, on bikes and walking dogs too. In fact, I work with a few of them :)
Well as we all say , there's always one
@@johnc3403I completely agree, there are good and bad in every group. We have a mixed use path near my home, which acts cycle path, footpath and bridleways. It's well used by horse riders and I genuinely find that they are grateful if you are considerate. It sounds to me like this woman couldn't control the horse.
Working farmer vs. leisure rider
The one who’d given me the fingers said “What fool is working at this time on a Friday night?” I replied “Just the fools who are producing your food”
She was a bit red faced & apologised. They others laughed at her.
Hopefully a lesson learnt.
Any interactions I've had with horse people I've always found them to be arrogant snobs.
@@secondchance6603 that’s your prejudice showing
@@hughmarcus1I’m Dutch so cycling is pretty much a way of life over here. All is well except for Tour de France wannabes. All dressed up in spandex clothing covered in advertising as if they were actually getting paid. Taking over the roads, the designated cycling lanes in groups 2 to 3 next to each other yelling at cyclists up ahead to get out of the way. I guess a 50 gram bike bell is too heavy for them. Muppets.
My dad lives in France in the countryside and his neighbor is a farmer.
In the summertime he often works till 2 to 3 o’clock in the morning on his tractor in the fields.
A lot of city people just don’t know.
That's self entitlement-can only imagine the fool on the horse
I'm totally with you on the owl nest! Wildlife brings a ridiculous amount of joy. Having blue tits choose our garden to nest is an honour. It's almost stag beetle season and I'm so excited for it!
If you've got bluetits, try wearing a thicker jumper.🙃
People rarely fail to disappoint.
As a younger man, I mountain biked on single track around 100 miles a week. The only people I EVER had conflict with were horse riders! Of course when trail maintenance days rolled around, guess how many horse riders showed up. Yep, you guessed it, not one!
I live in the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. Fox hunting on horse back is a big thing. The hunters think nothing of trampling through private property claiming they have the right to do so because it is a tradition. That is until the courts stepped in.
Virginia is nothing more than an extension of the metropolis now.
Fox had more rights than the property owners
Just found your channel. I’m from USA, state of MN.
Was so fun to watch your video and read the comments!
Those Karen’s are everywhere! I’ve been singing the song “Who let the dogs out” so I can lol to myself for their entitled, self centered little brains.
Congrats getting married! God bless!
Probably because if she'd waited she'd have ended up on her arse 🤦🏻♀️ sounds like she wasn't confident that her horse would have stayed sane. She could have dismounted and asked for a leg up get back on... I'm a horse rider btw. 🙃
Why do so many people ride horses they cannot remount from the ground, it's ridiculous. I used to own two horses for pleasure hacks (and driving ) but within a sensible size for myself and road safe.
Really enjoyed that thank you. We had on our tax dodge property Swiss Brown cattle. It was a pleasure to work with our staff of course at times they must have thought how daft we were being city slickers? Spending time on the property was just so relaxing there is something about being around animals that clears your head & relaxes you.
People have become so entitled. There's nothing in the universe more important than their deified own person.
Maybe she needed a poo 😂😂😂
Thanks for what you do folks. Love our farmers 👌
could always change gates so they swing both ways, that way you could use them to block the road at both points. just an idea. "road temporary closed, moving livestock" signs on both gates will cover you 🤞😁
The interaction between you and your cows and sheep is wonderful. Love your dog sitting in your truck like your farmhand. I saw an owl in my garden for the first time sitting on the line in my garden the other night, knew it was an owl by the silhouette made me so happy that it graced me with its presence. As for the woman on the horse, having done animal rescue, their are two kinds of people. Those who love and care about all animals and those who only care about their own animals and themselves. You have a lovely smile on your face which shows how content you are in your work. God bless you your wife and family and your animals.
One thing I love is the baa-ing of sheep! The different tones you hear really crack me up. Sorry about the rude, impatient rider. Haven't ridden for years but I was always courteous to drivers and pedestrians, it's not too much to ask courtesy in return, is it?
Your love of what you do is contageous. Thank you for sharing. ❤ from Texas.
The fact you separated 90% of your sheep and cows with a horn is impressive hahah😂
lambs looking very well fed. But the sheep are looking even better fed. Love watching you Chris (and Zoe) always put a smile on my face.
The lambs would look even better next to a few roast potatoes.
May have been a young horse! I would have turned round and gone back in the direction I had came until the road was clear.
Too obvious for some I'm afraid.
My sentiments entirely!
She won't wait because her name is Penelope, her daddy is VERY rich & he's NEVER said "no" to her for the whole of her life.

I always sound my horn as I pass them to show my support. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I was wondering where this was, Until I saw the potholes in the road. It could only be England!
Made my day seeing your sheep skills, ps i now nothing about farm animal's despite living near the countryside
Us cockneys only know an horse is used for delivering our beer
Arrogance. selfish, entitled. careless. Thoughts become words, words become actions, it by one's actions that one is known.
What a lovely video. Having lived in the Southwest for a bit, this made me totally homesick. Great job!
Thats a good point .they're always waving cars to slow down.

Sorry about the horse. As everyone else says, she could have been a lot more reasonable about it. Always lovely to see your sheep. Why wasn't Indy rounding them up for you? She's such a good sheep dog.
Kept on nodding off counting those sheep going past 😴🏴
I've often come across people like that unfortunately they are there
"the amount of joy that brought me is not normal" oh it is, it most certainly is.
I've just discovered you. Love the sheep and cows. Always.
Chris when I watch your videos I never leave till the very end like watching Tom Pemberton to you both make extremely good content
Love this video! We moved to the countryside especially for these experiences. Keep up the good work.
Move to the country for the lifestyle if you can happily support the people who’s livelihood is the country... without farmers, you don’t eat!
Couldn’t agree more Chris and Zoe. Does she realise the danger for this sheep. oh NO?
No horses around here,we do our best to keep them away.
Zoey is certainly looking well and strong to be contending with another Karen on the lose.
@5:52 "...3 that snuck off...classic sheep move!" ROFL 😂. Not usually interested in farming, found channel by accident, usually don't comment until end of vids but your love of your vocation and cracking sense of humour is compulsive. My bet is that you're a cracking person to knock about with. Am liking and subscribing. Thanks for posting. 👍
Most horsie people are stuck up their own backside I should know I married one once 😂
There speaks the voice of experience
Me too, odious bunch of people.
How amazing is the reactions of the livestock. Incredibly efficient.
In my book farmers always have right of way, they work bloody hard are under appreciated and deserve all our respect. I love the countryside but know that this is there workspace and we have to accommodate them not the other way around.
Do the sheep not get boiling with all that wool in this weather
You have the right of way
The joy you got from the owls is normal. It made me feel the same way! We had foxes in our garden and we felt so lucky!
Haven't you learnt yet people on horses rule the road 😂😂😂
Love what you're doing. Important. And to the WHY. People have different levels off empat and awareness.(ego, id, superego). Not everyone have the ability to see what's happening around them. You will find them everywhere.
Horses should be taxed.
horses shouldnt... some owners however.
It’s an expensive game as it is without being taxed
Yes, my experience is that sheep love to run through an opening and they follow each other 😂
What baffles me is that the horseriders expect me to go slow, and only overtake the horse by giving it a wide berth in a safe place...........fair enough, we've all entitled to use the road......and I've seen a horse write of a car with one kick.........but where I am baffled is that there is some rammely old horse-box trundling along at 20mph and they just carry on displaying no consideration for other motorists by pulling over and letting faster traffic pass every now and again.
It is amazing how some neighbors are so impatient. I let my fellow working people work, as I would want.
I grew up with Morgans. We rode and drove on roads and our horses were super chill. I’d be nervous at first, but my mom sad they were fine. If you are the nervous, then you wait for others. If you dive, be ready to swim.
Unrelated, I love how the sheep jump over the little ditch
Excellent video again thanks for sharing some people all they about is themselves!
Really admire you both for all the hard work you do. Some awkward people try to spoil your day...keep up the great vlogs !!!
Loving that you have taken up agroforestry. It's a no-brainer, and I have no idea why it hasn't taken off.
Great vid. Nice you found the nest.
Sadly, too many people these days think they’re so much more important than others.
Horses scared of sheep? Now I've heard everything!
First time viewer…. Great watch, great countryside, all the very best!
i love the fact you get joy from nature when you live in nature all the time.
Can’t help but agree with you mate. I watched a local guy drive at oncoming traffic and shout abuse at them to make them stop because his missus was on a sketchy horse in front of him. No end of entitlement nowadays.
I’d be off the horse asking if I could so hello to the sheep😊
As a horseman, I know that a nervous female rider actually transmits that fear to the horse, and that was her problem, she thought the horse seeing sheep would shy, and the horse can sense her nervousness. It does seem odd to me because I have mustered large sheep herds on horseback and the horse was so calm.
TH-cam algorithm brought me here. No complaints. A good find!
I've had issues with people on horses before when on the Mountain Bikes. Shouting at us. Telling us to move. That they have right of way.... On a mountain bike trail....
Stumbled across you on this. Loved the filming and delivery style. Have subscribed 🙂👍
I couldn’t get past the sheep moving section…I kept falling asleep! 😆
Horse riders many feel they are above us metaphorically and literally .
