“Make reservations at a restaurant” is a pretty generic request. They are reluctant to tell you, and would prefer if you infer the ultimate outcome on your own. Which is, just about any low level office worker say ‘Brenda from Accounts” can now be automated. Where sitting at your desk, manually checking orders from emails, checking online with the bank that payments were made, updating a shared Excel sheet to show this while simultaneously updating a salesforce case, and if there are any errors regarding payments (re bank statements etc) this can be compiled into a list of discrepancies for a supervisor to investigate. Any worker whose job is to enter something into any app can be replaced. Whole departments can now be reduced to a single person, whose sole purpose is to verify the work of the agents.
Your comment seems to show a lack of imagination. It’s not that anyone strives to want any of these jobs. Most jobs suck at various levels. The problem is a power structure where a small amount of very wealthy people with access to the best AI (if this is possible to have ) - if these agents disrupt the job market too quickly we will not be able to adjust fast enough. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to have to confront more and more crazy homeless people on a walk - get ready for more.
@LogicSpeaks You are not the worker in your economy. The worker in your economy can't even visit you. You are a consumer. And you stay quiet while violence procures your food. In more ways than any other citizen on Earth.
Locking people away from ai features is the most idiotic decision eu ever made, they better reverse whatever bs decisions they made or we'll be left in the dust
I was going to ask whether vocal fry was a preferred skill for employment at OpenAI. I agree on it being grating. I've found Altman's voice to be intolerable in the past, but the guy on the right took it to a whole new level.
Just because you can provide (deeply flawed) captions with the click of the mouse, doesn't mean you should. Ask yourself, does this add value? Will my viewers benefit from them? If the answer is no, don't click.
Showing the simplest when hiding dangerous. Reserving tables in a restuarant is the basic human to human interaction via phone or in person. AI is just a layer of confusion.
It more looks like openAI working with selenium to interact with browser and using keyword driven approach to scan the prompt to perform the automated operation for human.
curious, how the operator was able to login to the openTable site in the remote browser? one has to manually login to the app before using the operator?
Tell me, will it be awesome when computers are doing everything for us? If humans are not doing anything anymore except spending their UBI on videogames and pizza, I assume your TH-cam channel is going to close down? Or are you going to be producing content about pizza? Don't laugh. This is a serious question that I don't think any of you AI promoters are thinking about in a mature way. How is this vision of the future awesome? It seems completely lame and boring to me. Why do techbros assume humans no longer want to do anything for ourselves? It seems so childish and shortsighted.
I understand, as someone who personally wants AI to move as fast as possible I still worry about a few people profiting off this tech while the rest of us are trapped in poverty, even if the level of comfort we're in is comparatively high when measured against people in poverty today. It's not a perfect future at all. But if AI can develop to the point to where we can cure cancer and chronic illnesses, end homelessness, hunger, maybe even death itself, that is a gamble I am more than willing to take, personally. I would rather take a dystopian future where I don't die than end up in a future no different than our past, dying off like every generation that has come before. And if it wipes us all out, well, I was going to die anyway, haha.
Revolutionary thinking Jim. And you really finished strong with your insight that people are short sighted for not realizing that we’re just going to eat pizza all day. Don’t worry about putting any effort into understanding human behavior with your predictions, that’s short sighted.
Quite frankly, most of human history people were just doing stuff to survive. When the crops have yielded enough resources, people just did whatever they wanted. Played historic sports, told stories, made art, explored places they didnt visit before. Im sure there are people who will over indulge, but I for one will spend time with family and friends, making stuff, I want to learn stuff as well. If there's one thing humans had an evolutionary advantage against all animals so far is that we adapt. If we dont have to worry about survival anymore (food, shelter, basic necessities) then we'll adapt there as well.
@@JackJohnson-bw4pu I think my biggest worry is that it gets worse than mass poverty. What happens when the greedy few in control decide that all the world's resources would be better off in their hands and the rest of us are in the way? They're some of the worst humans we have to offer on this planet. If they have control over military robots, the rest of us are screwed.
It’s you who is misaligned. Productive people will continue being productive by becoming solo entrepreneurs and creating useful software and products like we always did. AI will just make solopreneurship even more feasible!
I wasn’t surprised, and I definitely wasn’t impressed by the demonstration. What would impress me more is if they allowed you to schedule specific times or dates to perform actions and implemented push notifications. For example, if you ask it to book a ticket for Friday at 6:30, and it can’t find that exact time or ticket, it could send you a text saying, ‘Hey, we tried to book the ticket, but it’s unavailable. Here are the other options. Would you like me to proceed with one of these?’ Then you could reply and have it handle everything for you. Even more impressive would be if it had a voice mode that could call your phone and say, ‘This is your agent. I’m about to book this ticket for you, is that OK?’ You could confirm, and if it runs into another issue, it could call again to explain the problem and offer alternatives. That level of functionality would really stand out.
If you all think that this video is all about OpenAI Operator then that means that OpenAI close to human robotics just passed the test!. The whole point of this interview is the rightmost guy wearing white t-shirt. The guys is literally a humanoid!. Just listen to his voice!
@beto.aveiga in order for operator to calculate it has to run through a system. Are you connected to the internet when using it? 🤔 you never know what's happening in the back end unless you look
The rabbit r1s had this feature about 4 months ago in working order. I feel bad for Jesse and his team. At release they even had a working model for Spotify and doordash but everybody bashed them because it was slow. Unfortunately, no matter what you do with those devices, they're always going to be a little bit slow, so this is going to be probably pretty tough to compete with as these will become more powerful.
I'm not the person who would anyway but they want me to pay $200 a month to type to this program and watch it do something that would take two minutes to do otherwise? I can't even see a point where it would be trustful enough to step away from it and actually do something else. For that price I want it to sit through labyrinthine websites and phone call goose chases to cancel gym memberships, do my taxes, and ensure whatever benefits I'm supposed to have are active. If it could negotiate the prices of my internet, trash, and other miscellaneous bills every year or so that'd be good too.
Booking restaurants meals doesn't really show the model full potential. Also booking restaurants isn't really that important for the average person it's only for higher class people.
Interesting how it's moving. There isn't anything too groundbreaking about automating booking reservations. We could do that before. If they are actually using screens and reading them, instead of interacting with an api, that would be something new. It seems a lot of software may not be needed in the future. AI will do these jobs and we won't need UIs. Only pictures to provide confirmations of things. I still think this all leads to training AI models. It's likely that is what we will all be doing in the future. Hone the models in so it works for your business. Your employees will be training AI all day. We may have UI less apps. Just models talking to models.
I have been manually organising my mp3 collection for almost 3 years, i need it all tagged in a specific way for rules in SeratoDJ, please let me automate this process with AI and let me get back to DJing..
The concern I have is, for this to truly work the user has to submit everything digitally. Have calendars online, all payment cards, every single thing you do needs to be documented and existing online for a digital assistant to use it. And you have to submit and believe the AI will do everything, trust it, can’t be hacked or manipulated to lie or give your info to someone else etc.. the thing is, it’s cool but I’m just not ready for it. I want control over my life not to have a digital version of me like for like that anyone can have access to… and I hate how it is becoming no longer a choice.
Why are these updates not in the UK, we pay the same as the US but get short changed, basically you get penalized for not living in the US and for not using Mac
The EU have an Ai Act that has a ton of legal restrictions. Plus Trump had an announcement the other day with Open Ai, SoftBank, and Oracle heads about some crazy 500b investment into a tech in Texas. Maybe both things slowing down access.
Really underwhelming demo of something that has great potential. It would have been better to see it do something more technical than just booking a restaurant. Like a coding assistant that runs all tests, notices that one isn’t running, identifies correctly where the error is, fixes error, and reruns tests
All recent openAI releases have been extremely underwhelming. Big announcement for something that barely works. They call it a computer use agent yet it cant control your computer, only a browser window.
I guess Apple will connect "Siri" to "Automator", to do similar things within the next year. "Web browser based" agents might be a blip on the timeline? Autonomous/agency AI systems might be a totally different ballgame. 🤔 I guess the internet infrastructure might get new AI layers to reach exponential potential, to match eg the requirements of 2026/2027.
But seriously what’s up with the vocal fry.. it doesn’t sound natural. Is that easier for Ai to understand the voice that way?… 😂 definitely harder for humans to understand tho
I only saw the hotel reservation demo and it's 😂..why would you like to add an extra agentic layer on top of a nice website which has been designed by UI/UX for human interaction...also , "while you are doing something else", when I am booking a restaurant I am booking a restaurant, also it's again asking for inputs , so technically you are not doing anything else...only application I see is QA automation and E2E tests etc...if we get rid of the website altogether, the it would be worth the cost saving 😂
Booking a restaurant is such a lame use case... It's just a phone call away. Not exactly difficult. I hope it's going to be capable with much more complex tasks, ones that I can't do myself or ones that would be too time consuming... not something that would take me one minute over the phone.
It will be useful when we will be able to finetune and teach model to use our own apps we use for example project management tool, calendar, communicators and devs will have access robot via API. Right now it’s useless gadget.
Shopping, booking reservations, and such, just isnt very interesting -- nor anything that really needs automating. They need to come up with new demos.
I find it hilarious that this gay guy working on Ai claims his software is fair when in reality it’ll tell the user that the topics are way too controversial in nature and will refuse to answer questions on such topics. Even if it’s not controversial, therefore his Ai is bias towards answering questions based off the programming he trained the Ai on. Ridiculous DEI LGBTQ clowns working on AGI, he’s about to ruin the future.
I hate how Silicon Valley thinks booking restaurants is somehow important to people.

In a future ran by Ai, it might be the most requested prompt, because imaginate all the restaurants that will be fully agentic
Hello? They never cook and are rich to eat out all of the time

Came here to say this. The "tech-bro fry" is so hard to listen to.
Just because you can provide (deeply flawed) captions with the click of the mouse, doesn't mean you should. Ask yourself, does this add value? Will my viewers benefit from them? If the answer is no, don't click.
It is super annoying! It removes value.
TH-cam provides captions if anyone needs them.
It’s funny how even in this community people are doubting this, when will “this is the worst it will ever be” drill into their fucking heads lmao
remember, some 40%+ of the USA population voted for Trump... some of them watch TH-cam videos...
