It’s taken me so long to realise this, but couldn’t Jack use the Tongue of Saiping to communicate and then control the spiders? That’s what I would’ve done…
It's kind of crazy -- Jack Spicer has won the same number of showdowns as Clay at this point in the series. This is his 5th win and Clay has only won five showdowns at this point in this series. Kind of funny to think about it.
Ironically this was Jack’s last solo showdown and his fourth and final win in the entire series, guess they let him go out on a high note just to not earn bragging rights afterwards?
@@duckymomo7935 Jack's insecure and Omi is egocentric, in both of their defense, Jack is a misunderstood (No one but Omi saw the good and raw potential buried within him) and bitter teen with attachment (can't stay away from his mom for more than a day) and trust issues (He's been betrayed and betrayed ALOT.) Who's also been looked down on and failed by everyone in his life (it's actually not that surprising how ruthless and unfeeling he becomes in the alt future.) He uses his passion for robotics to cope with his lack of any healthy relationships (makes robots with emotional chips and treats them as they were his friends, creates robotic girlfriends and tries to replicate the monks in some of his creations.) This isn't even factoring in the episode where Omi hits him with some really hard hitting questions that break down his character really well (the showdown where they're fighting on top of balloons in a truth or false type deal); in that episode it's clear Jack has been lying to himself and others about who he actually is as a person (someone who is afraid of failing, small and unsure of himself, that puts on a mask of a dangerous, self-proclaimed, evil boy-genius persona to hide his own self-loathing from himself and others.) Of course he would come off as arrogant, he'll throw himself at anyone or anything with a shred of confidence that gives him affirmation that he and his efforts aren't a waste of time or space. Omi on the other hand is a kid, kid's are notoriously selfish and self-absorbed (to top it all off he's been isolated from the rest of the world most of his life.) Thankfully that's not all to his character there's alot of moments where he can see past himself and empathize with others (Jack and Jermaine especially come to mind.) On the flip side even when Jack is a villain (with the exception of alt timeline Jack) he's capable of empathy too (he's helped the monks out several times, felt guilty when he trapped Omi in the future, and tried to cheer Omi up when he saw him clinging on to his jacket promising him to eat ice cream with him and the other monks on their free time.) Both of them tend to use short term solutions to their problems, Omi only learning instance by instance how to see past himself (but I mean like he's a kid, he doesn't know any better and he's still taking everything to heart that he learns it's natural for him to have stumps along the way.) Jack never really confronting his insecurities, and instead doubling down on them most of the time (his short term solution being to avoid the problem within himself) with a few exceptions. So while it can get jarring to see both of them struggle with the same character flaws time and time again, it's understandable why they act the way they do and why it's so hard for them to just get over their issues.

It seriously didn't. Both of them had too much pride to let the other one have it. Chase probably would have strong-armed Jack into using it for their plan had he found it first, but Omi initiated the showdown, likely to just keep another Wu out of evil's hands. Jack's showboating got the mouse smashed, yes, but that wouldn't have happened if Omi hadn't been so cocky in wanting to get another victory over him. They both really screwed up here.

Most people find eating bugs is pretty gross.
Why didn't they use the tongue of saipide in the first place to order the spiders to leave?
It only lets you talk to animals not order them. They also used it in the episode to talk to them too
