Sellen was expelled from the academy. Hierodas were the only conspectus that actually travelled the world, the Haima only left when war broke out since the whole point of their conspectus is the application of Sorcery in warfare, and simply sitting in the academy, in complete safety, sealed away from the rest of the world, without ever actually fighting against anything other than your marionette soldiers, is not a very good way of researching the application of Sorcery in warfare.
Haima sorcerers are the only thing that keeps the other nerds in check, if they didn’t exist then a Civil War would most likely occur in the Academy. Since not every sorcerers from different branches respects one another, specially when it comes to their research.🐱
I think Haima probably had a "With Great Strength comes Great Responsibility" philosophy to make sure that the Academy didn't rip itself apart. His physical strength was acconpabied by a keen mind and mighty sense of right and wrong

Really interesting, and it's a nice thought that Thops might have been from this conspectus at fisrt (but the chad created his own at the end). One funny thing to me as a French, the imprisoned battlemage Hugues... The English pronunciation might be right, there doesn't seem to be any reference to it anywhere, but in French, it would have simply been Ugh (very old name, you might hear the feminine version Huguette a bit more often). Truly sorry in advance, but now that I've heard your pronunciation, I can't help but imagine Hugues saying UwU ._.

Please cover the twinsage conspectus, both in selia and the Academy rooftops there are two varieties of twinsage that kind of remind me of graven masses. I would wholeheartedly like to hear your thoughts if you are interested in covering this one soon
So the heima conspectus mages are like the police if the police were properly trained, put to some sort of standard, suffered consequences for their actions, didn't exist solely to keep the status quo but to quell conflict and prevent bloodshed before it happens instead of coming in after the fact and giving themselves a "good job" sticker?
Easily one of my favorite enemies in the game, and definitely my favorites among the sorceries. What a bunch of absolute chads, getting bloodied on the frontlines while other sorcerers would just hang back and cast from a safe distance. Mad respect to the Battlemages from a melee loving warrior build enthusiast
Allso the ,bluntstone, is a little bit of a hint given that it may also represent heavy club vielded by haima sorccerers, and his new sorccery (wich i am too think is on the same level as comet asure) may be extention of haimas principle: by dispeling magic of sorccerer you basicly force them to talk it out, instead of fighting
I don't know about Thops being a member of Haima, he's clearly a self-hating bullied little boy and Haima mages are brutes. Thops Barrier says that this spell would have been enough to found a new conspectus, and we know it's a defensive spell against magical attacks, so I think he was working on something to defend specifically against Haima spells. What's more, Thops Barrier will win against Haima spells because once you start chaincasting the barrier, you can keep casting it indefinitely and outlast whatever fp your opponent has.
@@square-table-gaming He got laughed out of magical football tryouts and spent the rest of his time trying to keep himself from being shoved in his magical locker.

Sort of. They were nomadic scholars but they did not go back and forth. The crown of Heirodas was granted to scholars who engaged in studies away from the academy, so the implication is that they never returned. Different from the Haima Conspectus who was known to travel back and forth from the academy and could come and go after the shattering.
Amazing video, thank you for finally covering these guys, I love them so much. Where did you find the pronounciation for Hugues name tho? I've only ever heard it pronounced as Hyoog or Oog
I did a lot of research on where the name originated. Turns out it's most likely French and there are various pronunciation guides online for the name.
I think its interesting that the haimas hold their club in their left hand and their staff in their right. In game whether you’re stronger physically or magically it just makes sense with the button layout to hold your weapon in your right and staff in the left. So that signals to me that the haima are either all left handed. Or the more likely that since they are sorcerers through and through so it’s basically principle to hold it in their dominant hand even if it means the “battle” part of battlemage is at a severe disadvantage holding it in ur off hand. A staff works just as well regardless of your hand strength but a weapon requires strength so they are showing excess strength by holding their big heavy clubs in their weaker hands
Its funny with all there power most sorcerers are so weak like i always say twinsage all the way as you get to learn everything but i like this conspectus way of thinking id be off not staying in the acdemy all the time what a waste of other peoples knowlede its like when it came to fighting radagon with renalla id be right there showing the grace of gold why they should fear the moon and stars wish you could have seen that battle carian knights sorcerers loyal to rennala and the family giant hands trolls dragons against radagon would have been epic can you imagen being normal soldier and having them hands run at you 😂 hence why i only appreciate the manor from lorettas boss room 😂

I thought it was hierodas who were the ones who explored outside the academy to learn more? weren't the haima the ones who were more about justice and whatnot given the gavel. and how you find them outside the cave in sellia with lusat?
