    Signing hamilton since his karting years will be one of the best decison Ron has did. "Call me in 9 years" to someone scoring 6 time F1 WDC and on the way for the 7th WDC.

    Ron tried his best to hold his emotions on that Lewis Hamilton bombshell question. He was enthusiastic up to that point of the interview. Ron still feels betrayed by Hamilton for leaving McLaren to drive for Mercedes.

    • @Merc140497
      @Merc140497 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Probably even more hurt that Lewis made the right decision in the end. Ron is a genius and clearly a visionary, but his ego has made him fail as well as succeed in F1.

    • @ebaybasuki
      @ebaybasuki 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Merc140497 not sure about ego. It's easy to judge after the fact, easy n cheap. It wasn't really his fault that Honda took so long to make a good engine that didn't explode every 2nd race. How many engine related DNF did Verstappen have this year? He could have been 2nd in the championship without those failures. N the Honda n RBR pairing hasn't won any championship yet, despite RBR having 3-4 times the budget of McLaren

    • @junrenong8576

      I think he ultimately accepted that Hamilton did the right decision. They still friends to this day.

      Clearly you have never watched Lewis's interviews especially when he has won the championship. Lewis never fails to acknowledge that he is where he is because Ron gave him a chance with Maclaren when no one else would.

      I agree although I think there is more too it than what we know, I really miss him and his style with what it took keep McLaren on its feet to keep fighting but again that fighting spirit hasn't left McLaren is coming back slowly but surely but the same standard McLaren had with Ron when he arrived and left.

      Ron Dennis sold his stake at Mclaren and earned huge amount of money - I saw 300 million USD figure somewhere. He retired after building a successful company, has been a brilliant man and in the end, he cashed out on what he achieved. F1 changed so much that the change had to take place.

    • @boobrancher
      @boobrancher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was cutting corners in 2007 2009 he deserved to be fired and rightfully so and mclaren paid the price.

    Ron Dennis has been vindicated: Honda is leading the Championship !!! And LH is disloyal and ungrateful for what Ron Dennis has done for him. Ron Dennis created LH !!!

      He not ungrateful at all Lewis won title in 2008 and hung in their trying his best till 2012 but he needed a fresh change as things were becoming stagnant at mclaren and just look what happened to mclaren 2013 onwards talk about things could have become depressing for Lewis fighting for 10th place
      Lewis was destined to be the greatest racing driver of all time everything happens for a reason
