Dude! Awesome presentation! I got one for Christmas a few days ago, and I have been to a few sites that claim they are getting you familiar with the Atom. They didn't come close to your presentation. In a short period of time into the video, you had already shown us different ways of recording tracks .......and still didn't utilize a mouse! You covered a lot more in your video in a short period of time, but made it extremely easy to understand and start us on the way to discovering more about this fantastic tool / instrument.

Hey I know it's been a year+ since you got your Atom. I 'm just curious how it's been for your workflow/creativity and has it helped? I've had one for at least 3 years and it just sits on my desk. Every time I decide to try it again, I just get so frustrated with it. I started S1 with a mouse and I'm so fast with the mouse in my production that it feels like my brain is spinning backwards whenI try to use the Atom or the Atom SQ. Did you hit any walls the first time you used it, workflow wise? I guess I just need to bit the bullet and take a day to sit with it and learn it better. Hope all is good.

Hands down, the best presentation of the atom. No filler, clear, concise. Brilliant.

Thank you, This was simple and slow enough to help and fast enough to not be boring.

It works really well with SO4, not so much the previous versions without a bunch of work.

Awesome explanation and great presentation. I did giggle a little when at 11:10 I heard you say that the atom comes free with StudioOne Artist which of course means that artist is free with the Atom purchase. I do kind of wish there was an over head shot of how you set the after touch but there is a comprehensive instruction manual too. Thanks again.

I have both and I never use them. I just can't get the workflow into my brain. I'm so much faster with the mouse and trackpad.

Good lesson. one thing, I could not understand what you were saying about activating pressure, specifically you were on the Mat Tai and showing the pressure feature. You can wiggle your finger and make it do a sort of vibrato. To set it you press and hold Set-Up button. I did not see you touch anything else and I could;d not understand what you said. I thought I was hearing you say 6, but hitting 6 does nothing. Could you clarify please?

Could you please do a performance tutorial using the Atom

As i just received my ATOM yesterday, it helps, thank you.
I just cannot reproduce the pressure assignment with the setup and key 6, it does nothing.
And even while looking at the video in slow motion at 9:36 i could not see you type any key before you got an aftertouch effect.
I will keep on searching this feature. Some help would be appreciated.

There needs to be a way to transpose the pads by semitones. I know how to change them as a group by octave but not by semitone. Is it possible?

nice tutorial and good information! My preset of atom seems to be different. Not all modes work global as yours in the video. Maybe it is slightly different on win7/PC and MAC, but anyway it is good to start from here! THX!

was referred to this for atom. Great tutorial if I plugged it in and it worked this way. But there is no explanation on how to CONNECT and set the audio correctly. I can open the browser and select an instrument but that's it. Studio 1.6 Mac 1 Studio. ?????????????no sound no response from pads

It works really well with studio one but Im used to fl studio and ableton.. it is supposed to work with every daw but you pretty much have to program the thing yourself if you wish to use it with another daw.. tried to use it with fl studio which is my main.. have to connect everything to its own pad, everything has to be from the same instrument/channel.. you do not get the same plugin interface as in studio one.. I really like the atom but having to learn and use studio one + break up the workflow in the middle of a project everytime I wanna use it.. not so happy with that.. especially since it said that it would work like a charm with every daw.. no manual or video to show you how to set it up properly with different daw neither..

great overview Lee. However I;m having some trouble getting to change the brightness of the display. The manual says I must be in advanced setup mode and not in active mode.
But the manual doesn't give details on how to go to advanced setup mode. I need help.
Preessing Shift and right setup is supposed to illuminate the three brightness pads when pressing 'bank'. However this is not working for me.

On the right hand side row is a small round black button (hard to see), press that mate (i think u may have to keep it pressed). Thats advanced set up. Then you press shift and right to turn the light down.

J.B.G a.k.a J.Boston Green controller is awesome it’s backpack size and portable with a little meaty weight also you can’t program it big flaw imo and beat repeat cannot be synced unless you own studio one

There literally is not one simple, compact, affordable good responsive pad controller on the market. Not one! Maschine mikro mk3 has shit ableton support, the Akai MPD218 has shit response, the ATOM is a freaking light bulb. How is this going on for so long?!!?! I have one crucial question. I understood that it's impossible to turn off the ridiculous lights on the ATOM (yes also in low dim setting) Is it possible to open up the ATOM get inside it and 'paint' each lightbulb with some sort of paint to dim it. Or even better remove a cable that turns off all the lights but keeps everything working????
