Thanks so much. I've been looking for this info EVERYWHERE but nobody puts it out there, even the manufacturers!
Probably the most informative video I’ve found so far!
Gosh, I've been using it always using the taller side no matter what position I'm in for almost a year now, and it's no wonder my neck/upper back still sometimes hurts after waking up. Thank you for this video!
Same here. No wonder my throat and neck were hurting all the time since around a year as well.
You are a lifesaver! I got one specifically to combat neck/shoulder pain and thought I might be doomed as it wasn't working. Turns out I was just sleeping on it wrong, now the pain is gone!
Yes, I learned something. I've learned that I used my contour pillow the wrong way for years. Thank you so much doctor for this video, I greatly appreciate it. Sending you hugs across the miles from South America from Ecuador!
@G-Doyle He was using the pillow as a blanket and the blanket as a pillow
Good video, simple and straight to the point!!
Very useful! Thankyou for your service. 🙏🏽
Oh my gosh, this was perfect! Thank you so much!!
Great simply explained use of contour pillow.
Thank you
Awesome! Thanks a lot for that!
Thank you! I'm watching this while my head up and I'm using the highest side. 😅 You safe me right away 👍
Helpful video thank you for posting
Thank you! I was using it incorrectly before you taught me. :)
So helpful! Thank you 🙏
Many people ask which side to use if they sleep on both sides. Well, just try both to see which one is more comfortable to you, they are only a few cm different. There is no fixed rule here beause we may have different body proportion to the average size like bigger/ smaller/ narrower/ shorter head/ neck/ shoulders/ hips. You need to consider all of the factors when keeping your spine straight. Use several rolled towels with different heights under your neck and head, ask another person to check if your head and spine are in neutral position, adjust the heights when you are on your back/ side, compare your measurements to different Western/ Asian brands/ kid version. The pillow material is also important. Im a petite Asian female, I use 100% natural latex contour pillow of an Asian brand. I am comfortable with the lower end ( i am 70% back and 30% side). In the past, I got sore shoulder and arm if sleeping on the side with a low profile pillow, and I got sore neck if sleeping on the back with a high profile pillow. Now i am all good with a contour pillow.
Thanks, i really needed that.
Got mine last week. I got excited to use my pillow. I tried experimenting and feeling it all by myself. Thanks for this video, at least I know now how to use it properly 😉
Oh my God! Thank you for this video! I was sleeping on the higher side face up before watching this video since long time now.
Same friend I also higher side sleeping for face up.good video thanks to Doctor for giving good advice
I'm doing the opposite one. thanks for this!
Thank u good awareness about cervical pillow doctor
The larger side works for everything. It's slightly uncomfortable on the larger side if anything when sleeping sideways.
This was perfect.
Thank you!
Thanks man!
When you're in sleep, this pillow expect it to turn around when changing sleeping position from back to side- mmm
Thank you.
Helpful 👍
Thank u doc. I needed this as I wan sleeping in the wrong side. I sleep straight n was sleeping on high side 😆
Thank you sir
Thank you for this video!!! Did not realize how comfy the side sleeping was because I was using it wrong!
Glad you explained this. I turn a lot when sleeping…
Thank you buddy
Great 👍
useful info thx
Very nice
I like u u seem friendly
Thats great i have a contour pillow never knew what lower side was thank you for sharing 🇳🇿🌈
Thanks for this video, Sir! :-)
awesome video! just bought one and have been using it wrongly - how about if i tend to keep turning around when sleeping generally which works better?
Thanks. I've been wondering which side was for what.
Thank you for this much needed info. I wondered why the sides were different. Now i know
You show your head on the smaller roll for back sleeping, but the picture you show on the link to your site above, it's the reverse! ??? Please advise.
tks
I disassembled mine to clean it and now I’m unsure how it goes back together
Key thing is that your shoulders are NOT on the pillow for either direction!!
I've been using mine correctly for the most part, but the problem is, I sometimes sleep on my sides as well during sleep. I certainly can't be counted on to remember mid-sleep to change the direction of the pillow. Lol. I guess this might explain some of my neck pain!
All of that counting must be exhausting for you. Maybe these types of pillows are not for you. Just a thought. One thought. Easy to remember.
@@mojito-alongtimeago Uh, I think you misunderstood my comment. Counting on something and counting are two different things.
If you sleep 50-50 on side and back then this is kind of useless, no one way you are gonna adjust the pillow on your sleep. You just have to pick a side I guess
What do you do if you sleep on side and back????
👍👍👍
Great info. Only problem is switching position in between sleep.
these pillows are available in pharmacies
In one night sleep I’ll need 2 pillows?
One for side sleeping and another for sleeping on the back ??
Or have to change the pillow everytime u turn ??
Doc the low pillow when facing?
thank you for the information sir..very useful..but whole night we will not lay straight..in middle of our sleep we turn right or left and sleep. we can't change big side each time in our sleep..is it safe to use
Where do you put your hands if you are sleeping on your side?
Does that help neck pain
How to sleep on stomach on these pillow?
So while sleeping, if we want to move, we have to change pillow position first?
Can you also sleep on stomach with these ?
During sleeping u can't frequently change the position of the pillow right
Imagine waking up to switch the pillow around each time you turn over. Waking up groggy and tired due to interrupted sleep is the result.
I am confused because I have seen many videos which shows sleep on high side whenever you sleep on back side but this video tells us opposite . Don’t know which one is right please guide me
Was about to crash for the night but when I got to my bed, my cat was occupying the entirety of the pillow! This is incorrect usage, right? Please advise!
Thank you for this video. But what if I sleep a mix of both, side and back sleep ?
then just try both to see which one you feel more comfortable with. The difference of those two heights is just a few cm 😅 Remember our bodies are different when you have bigger/ smaller head, Bigger of narrower shoulders compared to average size.
I've been using the tall side for sleeping up. The short side for me feels uncomfortable for some reason, hurts my neck.
Everyone is slightly different or it could be that your body is more used to the incorrect way of sleeping which may feel comfortable, but it may be worse for your spine or shoulders. I know I fall asleep faster on the high side, but I wake up with shoulder aches and I'm only 22... kill me
What if, I sleep on my stomach?
Omg been using this wrong all this time thats y i got lots of stiffnecks huhu
I want a good contour pillow to adjust my sleeping.
Lol now that ive seen this video, it seems obvious. I can't believe i didn't know 😂
Can we use it everyday?
Hello good day🙏
Plz advise me and whole with regards to SHORT NECK space people like me.
Iam a side sleeper
Very short neck
Hence NOT enough space for my neck to curve around pillow.
I find ALL these marvelous pillows have a loop hole that only and only works for side sleepers with long neck..
Ofcourse iam willing to learn all the time incase I'm using such pillows in wrong way🙏
If your body is similar to average adult size, you can use the lower end side on your neck (the one for back sleeper). If your body is smaller than average adult size, you can use the kid version or Asian brands. The point is you need to actually try them to see if fit, your “imagination” of unfitting may be incorrect 😅 you can also try lay down on your side, use some rolled towers to put under neck and ear, ask another person to check if your spine is straight and adjust the tower heights. Once your get the correct heights, compare them with the pillow measurements.
But one of the doctors mentioned that your head should not be in a downward position. For side sleepers it seems the head will bend down as the high end will be below the neck, is it good? Can you please let me know?
no, either back or side sleeper, the design of the pillow is supposed to keep your spine straight unless your body proportion is significantly different to the average size of people. To put it simple, if a man stands straight perpetually 90 degrees to a wall, say one of his side shoulder and arm touch the wall, (like vertical sleeping position), the distance between the wall and his neck is longer than the distance between the wall and his ear. There are plenty of body images related to contour pillows in the internet if you need more visual explanation 😅
I bought the contour pillow to reduce my neck pain/back pain. After 1 week using the pillow every morning I feel more pain around this 2 area. How do you expect us to change the pillow position during our sleeping time?. Oh gosh. It is not workable bro.
Soft pillow or hard pillow
I have one, but for some reason it aggravates my muscle knot on my left shoulder near the side of the neck. I feel more tense there after sleeping with this, Idk why :(
To be honest, I have bad posture to begin with and I wanted to correct that with this pillow. But it gives me more pain :(
Thanks for this - I guess this means i hv to throw away my Contour pillow coz i am not a stiff who sleeps in one position all night/day long
So all this time I have been using it wrongly 😮.Sleeping on the shorter side all the time.
Omg I've been sleeping on my pillow wrong for at least 10 years.🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
@@coopsy4631
First time I got one was at the age of 12. I am now 27, so I'm not sure where you're getting these three years from 😂
I just bought one and is it really supposed to be this hard? I thought all memory pillows are soft. 🤦🏻♀️😔
if you got a memory foam pillow, apparently you need to sit on it for a few hours to make it softer
As it absorbs body heat, it gets softer during the night.
Not much, but it can be felt.
He's so damn cute... Hehe
That’s great but super impractical… if you’re half asleep in the middle of the night and have to change sleeping positions I think most people would forget to turn their pillows around…
It's not a comfortable pillow .
wherever there is pillow....
just sleep
no need to think
our common instinct
What if you sleep both sides and back? 😂
Not practical advice
I toss and turn before falling asleep
So I will use the low side as I won't be waking up just because I switch to sleeping on my sides!!
Man’s face looks like his sleeping even when awake lol
Towards the end i tough u actually slept off on the pillow while making the video. LOL. Just pulling your leg.....pulling the legs of a physiotherapist (who does the same for a living).
Not very convenient having to change sides of the pillow every several minutes
Disagree! No one on earth can sleep without changing btw face up and side in one night!
Thank you doc! I got a contour pillow for Christmas and had to know how to sleep on it 🤣
Thank you.
Thank you sir
Informative, simple, and direct to the point. Thanks
