Hi Mate, Anything about Pulau Ubin interests me and thank you for sharing this walking adventure. Back in the mid 70s, I carried out a feasibility survey on the island to be developed for commercial farming and sure glad, the project didn't work otherwise, the scenerio would be different. Yes, many wild life has been spotted including a tapir, which is amazing. Let us hope that Pulau Ubin will remain as it is and never lose its beauty. Sadly though, many of the residents are getting old while older ones, have passed on. Thank you for your kindness for the environment by picking up the plastic bag and dropping it, where it should be. There're many public campaigns about the issue of keeping the environment clean and hopefully, people attitude will change, for the better. Thank you for visiting the island and tagging a special guest with you too.
I love going to Ubin and have been there more times than anywhere else in Singapore. I hope it never gets developed, but fear one day it will. Let's hope not!
Took me back to the time I and my friends cycled around PU. It rained on time but we had our $1 raincoats so we weren't deterred. The peace and the natural setting were a tonic. Missed the wildlife though.
There is a bicycle only island in Malaysia called Pulau Ketam.I have been twice to this land, once taking my students. This island is near Klang. There are hotels ,houses and even a school. There is a Maybank Branch too.
Nice! Interesting views ! Maybe come early next year and monsoon time to see any different experiencr! Hope its a cooler season next time! Thanks Richard!
Hi Richard! i enjoy your videos, been to the places you have been to but you see more animals :). Thanks for the tips, and hope to bump into you someday.
Hi Richard. Thanks for the great video although I realized that I am rather late in the boat as this video was more than 1 year ago. Anyway I agree with you that the coastal boardwalk is useless for seeing those marine creatures in the photos. To see them, you have to go during a super low tide (happens about once per month or two months) and walk on the beach itself. And when its super low tide, you can already walk all the way to 100m from the coast. Thats the time when you can see all sorts of beautiful mariner creatures on the seafloor. But I think the authorities may not allow that nowadays but hopefully one of these days, you can go and experience that during one of these super low tides.
Great video. I like it a lot. I was here last week but we rented a bike. I did not know that we are allow to hike at the mountain bike trail. I would love to hike here we are allow . Thanks for sharing.

My father-in-law's review of Ubin:
"Walk like he_l, hot like he_l"
Can you do a Clementi forest video?
Maybe in the future!
No mosquitos?
Not if you keep moving.
Is it easy to move around Ubin? I am going next week
If you are a competent cyclist it's very easy. Otherwise you can walk or even get a taxi!
20 km! His wife walked 20 km with him!
Hi Richard, is your wife taiwanese?
