I just started doing this too lol, never played S1 until a week ago. Ran into my first hacker a couple days ago. Been so much fun so far, I really wish there was more than 3 months left, it's too fun and nostalgic. :(
@@spectravj True, but I'm concerned about whether the playerbase of people who actually set that up and play on it will be large and frequent enough to really be viable for playing. It's not like Mario Kart Wii which was one of the best selling games of all time on one of the best selling consoles of all time (so even if only 1% of MKWii players modded their Wiis to use Wiimfi online that's still a decently large viable playerbase), quite the opposite in fact since the Wii U sold terribly. I have my doubts that everyone who's still playing Splatoon 1 online right now will go through the process of setting up and playing on Pretendo after the shutdown, it's more likely to just be a fraction of them that do.
If you get the opportunity to hold your friend at gunpoint yet again you should get their wii u again and play the story mode lol Anyways, happy new year
YAYYYY!!!! S1 RM was great! If they added the checkpoints like 3, it would be great! I first played back in 2016 at my cousin’s house. So sad that the online is getting shut down, but whenever Pretendo releases, we can be happy.
this story is same for me just like yours but diffrent is that i bought splatoon 2 in 2023 and i was saving money for splatoon one and i have NEVER played wii u and i started saving money for splatoon and wii u splatoon turn diff path going for my birthday (from face book market) also splatoon 3 was for crishtmas and why i wanted one 1. i was obessed whit the wii u and following that finishing the splatoon series collection (from each year even if i wasnt planning that) and i will post a video a wii u unboxing coming soon whit face reveal since im almost 13. one more thing in the wii u pack from online market not facebook includes 5 games and cost 150 whit a wii u and the 5 games which is a great deal! one wii game and 4 wii u games.

i went straight from the wii to the switch i never had a wii u
