My grandparents lived in Wakefield when I was growing up and we would go chasing the train through town in the early 1990s (I would have been 9-10 years old when this video was taken). I actually went up on July 4 to take pictures of some of these crossings as a gift for them. Unfortunately, they were not running on July 4 (it didn't occur to me that they would not run on the holiday until I was already up there, but I had no other opportunity since I was visiting from Maryland.

There is actually an additional, abandoned crossing before the first one shown in the video. If you went a little ways further on Route 16, there is a road called "Deer Ridge Road" in Wakefield. Follow that residential road for a mile or two through the woods and you'll run into the train tracks.
The crossing by the dam is along Route 16, I think on the southern tip of Wakefield or possibly the town just south of it. The tracks/river run alongside an Irving gas station, so just look for that.

Cool, This train goes by a job site I'm working at in Rochester. Where is that location with the small dam and railroad bridge? thats pretty nice! I should go video the NHN. I don't see to much rail traffic in New Hampshire.
