    Years ago went to a Giants and Astros game in San Francisco. We were in the left field bleachers and Carlos Lee was taking his swings. He hit a rocket right towards where I was sitting. Me being a grown man, I didn't bring a glove to the park. I stand...hands raised. The ball propelled towards me, not slowing down a bit, it seemed to be gaining speed. In this split second, I began questioning my personal safety regarding the incoming missile. I stood there in this moment of time thinking I was going to break every bone in my hand. That ball screamed about 3 feel over my hands, hit the fair bleachers behind me and started ricocheting around. It was stunning how hard that man hit that ball.

    I was just thinking how funny it would have been if Matt had hit a ball 400 in the first testing video 😂

    Matt , Great video . I was trying to explain this concept yesterday but you have done a much better job. Wicked smat!

    Great stuff. For me, to prevent that hard early lead shoulder pull you talk about, I try to keep my lead shoulder tucked under my chin for as long as possible and release it as late as possible. That, plus consciously making sure the hands stay back and that the lower half works forward first (with the upper half resisting against the lower half and working forward second) helps me and the kids I work with solve a maddeningly common hitting problem. Your thoughts? I'd say Trout is the best example I can think of who uses a tucked shoulder/delayed releases tactic.

    A lot of people have no idea how big professional athletes are. If you go down to field/floor/ice level, shake some of these dudes hands, you’ll realize that TV doesn’t do anything in that respect; they’re giants.

      Yeah the small guys are big and the big guys are fast. It's a strange world. I had a cousin that started at left tackle for WVU. Dude was enormous and fast and just ape strong. Couldn't even crack a practice squad spot in the NFL. So he was maybe two or three levels of talent/skill from being a starter and three or four from being a pro bowler. It's insane to think of how good someone has to be and how hard they have to work to be a bad professional.

    I have a question Matt. I noticed some guys have some crazy batting stances. Can a pitcher use a guy's batting stance against him? For example if a guy crowds the plate. Does he see a lot more high and tight pitches? Or another guy that has an open batting stance see a lot of stuff low and away?

    Interesting drills. Remember those Easton "thunder sticks." Those were good for keeping the front side on and maintaining proper weight distribution.

    If you’re 30 or older the test is starting to slide. Arginine, bcaas , omega 3/6/9 fat supplement and separate protein from carbs in meals. All will naturally move test back up. More muscle confusion in workouts. Just suggestions

    Yo Matt, this may sound crazy but it sounds like you are holding your breath during contact. Listen to yourself, it sounds like you have a big exhale after contact. Try releasing your breath just before and while you make contact.

    Daniel Palka ridiculously high exit velocity 6-2 218. I think in 2018 he had 2 or 3 of the highest velocity readings at the big league level

    • @jdredwine7224
      @jdredwine7224 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Listed at 6'1" 200. He also has the benefit of the short porches at Yankee Stadium for 81 games and over 100 total games in Yankee, Fenway, Camden Yards, and Rogers Center. 4 very hitter friendly parks.

      @@jdredwine7224 I'm pretty sure he can hit to center field as well. What about Brett Gardner, he's listed at 5'11and had 28 HRs this season?

    I wanna ask you my question I am currently in my first year of college baseball and i feel like I pull out of my swing early and I am under the ball a good bit. I asked my coach and he said it’s my load starting early but I believe it’s more then that. My question is how can I fix that I would love to send you a video to see what you see or if there’s a video you think you have I could watch to help

    I see you are a believer in the barrel turn invented by teacherman. I learned from him back in 2015, he really knows his stuff, I went from being shit to really good quickly. You should check out his forum lots of really good info but there is a ton of stuff to read

    It’s almost like your pushing your hips and shoulders around and dragging your arm and bat around as an afterthought. Just get the basics down and the rest will follow. I had the same problem shooting. Jerking the trigger. Not good and I missed the target low left. Got it fixed now though. Love you vids!!!!
    But it was hard for me hitting from a machine when I was younger. The tee is where you can focus on fundamentals.
