Lucky for you guys, Hawai’i has all of those and more! People think “Hawaii” and only think about beaches, but we have a TON of gorgeous mountains, forests, streams and lakes that you can easily drive or hike to.
If you guys ever go back to Hawaii , each island kind of has its own feel. Oahu is more urban and utilitarian, the Big Island is more rough nature and volcanic, Maui is kind of resort and “classic” vacation, and Kauai is rainforest nature stuff. So you can kind of pick and choose, though I think Oahu has a great mix of activities, just gotta do some looking around and not just stay in Waikiki.
If you have any interest in astronomy or even just stargazing in general, the Big Island has structured the entire island around making it perfect for that. Though the street lights are pretty dim as a result.
Shit, is that why all the haoles keep infesting Maui alluh sudden? Man I'm native born on Maui and I always remember my childhood when everything was much simpler. Now I just went back for the first time last year after 15yrs and there's a FUCKING TRAIN AT THE AIRPORT. WHAT IS ALL THIS???
People in Hawaii are so welcome and kind to tourists (except when it comes to driving.) You look at Connor and can tell he's more of a pool person, lol.
I was at the con. You guys had a great panel! I've been going to Kawaii Kon for 6 or 7 years and that was the best one yet. Hawaii is a lot safer than most of the mainland. At least when it comes to violent crime. I chalk it up to the fact that in Hawaii your reputation is everything (also why I think people are nice in general here). Word gets around, and if you get a bad reputation there's no nearby city to re-settle in. Purely anecdotal just from my experience growing up here, so I could be wrong.
Yeah as someone who lives in Hawaii (Oahu specifically) word gets around really quick. Which can be both good or bad depending on what it is of course.
Kauai is definatly the island that matches peoples idea of hawaii being a tropical paradise the best. I know honolulu is pretty urbanized so it definatly doesn't fit what people think Hawaii is going to be like. Kauai is awesome though, it's much more rural then the others and is probably the prettiest among them.
I feel when tourist only/mostly visit Waikiki miss out a whole lot... Especially, traveling all the way there just to hangout at a hotel pool as the whole Hawaii experience. Maybe not enough time or not sure what to do. As a local of 15 years I could give a pretty good itinerary and I'm sure other local trash taste fans could give some good recommendations for an amazing experience just like you would imagine. Most locals prefer other beaches than Waikiki. Big Island has the most nature and you get that real Hawaii feel with the jungle, volcano, culture. I hope you guys try visit again 🥰.

Hawaii is one of my favorite places to escape. If you want to avoid the tourists but still have "touristy" things to do, definitely go to Maui. And yeah, when it rains in Hawaii, you just wait it out and it's usually over in a few minutes.
As a Filipino, I am utterly surprised that Thailand and Hawaii don't have ordinance for helmets. In my city, motorcycle drivers are required to wear helmets and put on shoes when on a motorcycle or face steep fines/bribe the traffic enforcer. Of course there are other folks that don't follow the rules but mostly people stick with the ordinances. That being said, I'm typing this while I'm on a 2-minute traffic stop on a 125cc Mio lol
As an American, my surprise on Hawaii not having a helmet law is very minimal because a lot of states in the US don't have helmet laws. The only reason there's any surprise at all is just because of how progressive Hawaii is politically. I live in South Carolina and there's no helmet law here, but North Carolina and Virginia, the two states north of me I believe do have them.
Someone who lives in Hawaii here to say that there are laws about it, just a decent amount of people decide not to follow them since they view mopeds as casual transportation. Motorcycles and Motor Scooter operators and passengers under the age of 18 are required to wear a helmet with a chin strap. Motorcycle riders are a little better about it generally, but there are still so many people who decide they don't want to because of comfort or convenience

38:30 I have a Chevy Colorado and I know one thing that is horrible about owning a truck is if you're hauling a trailer. I had to haul a 16x12 Uhaul trailer into the DC area and those roads are NOT meant for a big ass trailer, I can only imagine if my truck was huge too.
The car thing that happened to Connor has happened to me too! When I was a kid me and my brothers all pilled into a red van that looked like our moms after unlocking it in the grocery store parking lot and noticed it wasn't as dirty and we all got out and saw like 10 feet away was our van.
if you travel to islands like Kauai or Maui it's more "island-like" since Oahu is more of a city-like island. Places like Kauai, Maui and idk about big island have a law that doesn't allow a certain height for buildings. If you ever come to Kauai or Maui you'll see that the only buildings that are really big are hotels which aren't even big.
I went to the con and Connor said he hates Loco Moco's. A Loco Moco is an egg on a hamburger patty with gravy over it and all of that is on top of a bed of rice. In terms of living in Hawaii it is alright, most people are nice some people are not. It can be scary but if you are a tourist it is a very nice place!

We went to Bali when I was 10 and what I remember most is looking for any kind of bread and finding anything. They did have this super sweet toast which came in pink or green and we first bought it thinking it was finally normal bread (as much as toast can be). Then we learned it's just a sweet. You can buy a whole loaf of pink or green toast and it's like cookies. It did go hard with juice though so that's awesome.
it was objectively worse in terms of film quality that the first 3 tho, filming during the pandemic they cut alot of corners that they had not in the others. There are alot of Ludonarrative dissonance moments, and bad editing, there is a boom mic in one scene, several cars that are supposed to have drivers are completely empty, crowds go from reacting to not reacting, because of mixed sequenced shots, plus the amount of absurdity was raised here. I did not like the amount of suspension of disbelief i had to have in this one with civilians not reacting and police not showing, unlike in the other films. There were also lots of dropped plotlines and potholes and deus ex machinas that the others managed to avoid. Over all it was still a good action movie but compared to other john wicks very bad. 7/10 action movie, but a 3/10 John Wick movie, but that goes to show how good the quality of the first 3 were above most other films.
switching countries and having to learn the differences is definitely something that you just need to jump into. going from texas to norway was stressful until i started driving myself here.
North of Scotland has some really great beaches with very few people on them and then there are some lovely island beaches as well. As long as the weather is decent

9:56 I understand what you mean. Been to Maui Hawaii at least 2 times in my life and it’s “Paradise”. Great vacation spot but not somewhere I’d live year round. It’s part of the United States 🇺🇸 but yet it’s not. It’s technically one of the Newest states along with Alaska which is closer to Canada. When you’re there it’s stress-free vibe where you’re able to relax and forget about your troubles for a while. Also things operate on “Island Time” as opposed to most major cities operating at a break-neck pace (ie New York City, etc). Another place that gives those kind of vibes is the Beaches of North Carolina (OBX) and it’s great place for vacation but not so great living year round. Summer time is Busy but other seasons there’s hardly anyone down there during the colder months. Also, want to plug “The Shore” in New Jersey as well since I used to live not too far from there.
John Wick had such a good ending to the series do hope it continues somehow in the future tho, Also the one take 4 minute scene was so good and it reminded me of cod 3 zombie mini game

I recommend going to a farmers market on a weekend or going to some classic places like Liliha bakery ( the original of course) and zippys. there are some other places too but I'm sure others can recommend stuff. I was really surprised no one at kawaii con brought up that sanrio stores here has exclusive stuff in hawaii, pretty sure a certain person would have liked something from there 😅
I hope y'all enjoyed Hawaii its so nice there and the people are really nice to tourists.
joey: "no one has a gun here, no one's gonna stab me here"

Let’s go! Almost to 150👏🏻👏🏻
The reason there's so much bread in Vietnam is because the French controlled it for a long time, introducing French baking culture there.
Disneyland for adults? I’m flattered that’s what you think of my home! I hope you guys come back soon! Kawaii Kon and meeting the bois was a blast! Thanks for signing my JoJo book and I hope you guys love all the gifts! Lots of Leis and personal gifts, that little fuzzy Waddle doo, an Ace pen, and a Rem sticker that I hope you guys enjoy!
IKR I would put Las Vegas closer to Disneyland for adults!
So glad they enjoyed their time in the place we call home ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
@@dozer11 it’s probably because when you go to Disney you at least feel like nothing bad can happen while you’re there, Joey mentions he felt safe in Waikiki of all places so I guess that’s where it comes from lmao!
@@dozer11 it even has themed areas lol
@@dozer11 IMHO Amsterdam is the true Disney Land for adults, Disney’s fake cities are a similar lay out

I have a Chevy Colorado and I know one thing that is horrible about owning a truck is if you're hauling a trailer. I had to haul a 16x12 Uhaul trailer into the DC area and those roads are NOT meant for a big ass trailer, I can only imagine if my truck was huge too.
The long awaited beach episode! ALOHA
The car thing that happened to Connor has happened to me too! When I was a kid me and my brothers all pilled into a red van that looked like our moms after unlocking it in the grocery store parking lot and noticed it wasn't as dirty and we all got out and saw like 10 feet away was our van.
Bali and Hawaii giving each other the silent nod of confirmation
Was awesome to see and meet you guys in person, hope to see you guys back again next year!
Now I want 4 days of rain with complimentary tea and scones...
One of my favorite Trash Taste tropes is when Garnt says something that immediately sends Joey into a giggle fit 😂
Watching y'all with a drink makes it infinitely better.
The energy, chemistry, and overall enjoyment hits differently after the boys have a prolonged absence from the PodCast.
Damn
the boys are on their mechanism arc
joey was the japanese man the gang had to rob confirmed
jodio watches trash taste in jojolands chapter 3 confirmed
😀😀🤚

Who's the diagnosed psychopath of the group?
🤓 Achxually, Joey, it was Anakin Skywalker that doesn't like sand.
The deez nutz joke pulled on connor live was hilarious
if you travel to islands like Kauai or Maui it's more "island-like" since Oahu is more of a city-like island.
That explains it. Connor hated 'hambaagu' so he probably sees Loco Moco as the same thing.
as a welsh person whos spent alot of times at beaches across south west wales and west wales i can promise you conor is so incorrect and most of those beaches are incredible
Joey: "how was Hawaii"
Connor giving the standard British response: "it was alright" xD
The talk amount recent comedy films really made me realize how those just aren't a thing anymore. I hadn't thought of it before but them voicing it just sparked a big "oh shit they right" response in me
I'm imagining Connor in that theatre reaching on the other seat for stuff while crunching on food and watching the movie.
14:15 As an Indonesian, I can vouch that Singapore is really like its own thing, it's like a transitional part that's not really SEA but not really South Asia either
Explore the other islands like the Big Island or Kauai. They have more of a country/islandy vibes. Oahu is definitely more of a city vibe.
John Wick 4 was amazing!
Connor is right, the 4th one might be the best of the series!
it was objectively worse in terms of film quality that the first 3 tho, filming during the pandemic they cut alot of corners that they had not in the others.
Probably the best ad read just because of the sound that Garnt made at 32:21
"i don't like sand, its course, rough and irritating". -Connor
switching countries and having to learn the differences is definitely something that you just need to jump into. going from texas to norway was stressful until i started driving myself here.
best part about the hawaii convention was connor being told to choke on deez nuts during the q&a panel
On the sunday one someone got them to say "I get one manini boto" too LOL
@@meijiishin5650 no freakin way, brah that's funny!
It was a terrible deez nuts joke though
@@vex_d673 it just worked because when he asked the question. We were like where is this going?

I swear the smile I get when I see a new trash taste episode is up, is quite ridiculous XD the boiis never fail to put a smile on my face 😀
5 months later and I’m finally caught up to watch an episode on time
North of Scotland has some really great beaches with very few people on them and then there are some lovely island beaches as well. As long as the weather is decent
Seeing Connor gush about puss n boots 2 brings a smile to my face
That gap with mid-budget entertainment also affects games. It's a lot of either $100 million budget games or indies. Those mid-tier games are dwindling, and yet those are probably my favorites
10:43 "You were born in the warm rain" is lowkey so poetic

That Vietnam mentioning made me very happy! I even told my boyfriend about it because both of us are big fans and we're glad you guys enjoyed the trip 😭💕💕
NC beaches has the best vibe
@@poohssmartbrother1146 Agreed.
I like hearing they said they felt safe in Waikiki but the random scary shit that happens there is crazy.
14:40 to reiterate; it’s not illegal to chew gum in singapore, it’s illegal to buy/sell gum here
John Wick had such a good ending to the series do hope it continues somehow in the future tho, Also the one take 4 minute scene was so good and it reminded me of cod 3 zombie mini game
