There has been a patch a while ago, unfortunately. Scribbling too much outside the letters kills you... Ironic how much you're wanted to be accurate here, since Joey's original video had him pass the prompts despite horrid handwriting.
I like this mechanic. Supposedly, this song rewards good handwriting, but it actually rewards you if you cover most of the grey word as possible. Scores over 100% heal you but scores under 100% do damage. Boyfriend has 200 health. A score of 90% will do 20 damage, 135% will heal you 70, and so on.
i see how it works, so basically the amount you cover and the percent are multiplying your hp by that 1/2 that number l(multiplying a number by a fraction/decimal/percent will lower the number's value) so a score of 200 will heal you by 100 if im not mistaken, that means you need a total score of 400 or more for a full heal

The way it works is that after you get your percentage, the game subtracts the remainder from your max HP. If you get 60%, 100 - 60 = 40, so you lose 40% of your HP. But if you get over 100%, then 100 - 123 = -23, and trying to subtract a negative number causes your HP to go up.

In a small update, sooner or later, they should fix the no party mechanic so it can't be cheesed or be impossible (like how you cheesed on playing the game for free, you criminal!)
Your PC might have some trouble with all of the data in the mod. Using low quality in the options might reduce the lag, but that probably depends on the type of PC. I always end up with like 1 miss on No Party, it's tough to FC when the notes don't do their job
I think a cool mechanic would've been to have the "Criminal" text glitch out and result in you having 1 hp left as a reference to the MPDSAP series. Would it be unfair? Well, you'd be saying that if you got that far anyway.

For PC users, you are lucky that you have a mouse but for laptops users. Well you have a disadvantage you need to actually use two hands which on your left hand you need to hold the touchpad before the word come up then draw with your right hand holding the left hand on the touchpad, it will take some time to do this, but it took me one day while I was playing inside the classroom. It will take a day or more if you cannot do this. Edit: news flash short they changed this so players won’t be able to scribble so now even on PC or laptop. It will not work so don’t even try scribbling it now they already changed it because remember these notes are not in line now in line and you cannot scribble scribbling. Is a insta kill
