I have the AnyCast M9. Using Windows 10, the Anycast 'mirror' wifi connection (for laptop to tv) often disappears from the Chrome browser when I select 'Cast' for media. I have to wait for it to appear again, disconnect-connect the mirror, or switch off the device and back on. Basic browsing just about works, but when switching to youtube or a complex site, the device showing on the tv may go back to the menu in 9 out of 10 attempts. A video to play in full screen, is not likely to happen with this device. It's not consistent. Casting Spotify with the Chrome browser also has small noise-glitching problems when the Spotify banner adverts change, lol. I think the problem is with the weak (cheap) receiver of the M9. I have never tried the official Chromecast. So I'm not sure if it's worth getting instead, or if some of the same issues may exist with that on basic wifi connection (around 1MB/sec DSL). My wifi is generally stable, hd videos play fine normally and there are no issues with a straight hdmi cable to tv connection.

My AnyCast doesn't seem to have a switch on the side but a button on the back. Nothing appears on the screen when I plug it into HDMI and USB (there's a blue light on) I do get a wifi for "Mirroring" but not for an "AnyCast" Thoughts?

Hi Chris, in your situation. You need to have two smartphones. One to create hotspot and another one for casting. Ones you configure your anycast device to connect with phone hotspot. Then whomsoever connect with particular with phone hotspot, can start casting on your TV
can I use anyplay and at the same time *and* still use/access my routers WiFi spot and mirror that on to the TV? Or is that then blocked by connecting to anycast via WiFi? What I'm asking is how to get the same functionality as when using mhl cable connection...

Why can't you cast directly from your phone to the AnyCast dongle without a router being in the middle? Is there option in case you don't have a home WiFi router, and only the hotspot on your phone with mobile data? The reason I'm asking is because I have a ChromeCast which states you must also connect to a home wifi, but once it's configured I can turn off my home WiFi router and use only the phone's hotspot with mobile internet, essentially casting directly from my phone to ChromeCast box. The trick it to change the name and password of the phone's hotspot to the same as the router you have initially set up with. I would be curious if you could try that with this AnyCast dongle... my guess is, it should work ;)

You have connect with anycast wifi first to get into anycast web page and connect anycast to home wifi. Once your done connecting anycast device with home connection. Then forget the anycast network on your phone and connect your phone with home wifi. Now all you need to do is casting mobile on TV. That’s it

Also, all the things the guy in the video said we should do and try, these options weren't available to me. That's why it didn't work. The M2 Plus says h265 encoder on the box, although not an indicator of resolution it's probably up to date enough to promise to do so - my box is near identical but it says M9 and says 'Supports Chromecast. No need to switch' instead. The odd thing is that both boxes say 'RK3036 inside' so perhaps my model isn't an updated version. The AnyCast in my experience is no resolution at all, it struggles with full screen video or any video on youtube. Other sites work better but it still glitches out and loses signal. You get what you pay for, so get the real thing instead
