I'm in the US and saw at a local bookstore a kit (book and pattern) to create a rather intricate 'folded book' but at $50 that wasn't happening! I was so intrigued I started searching on line and found your You Tube tutorial. Your explanation was very clear, just need to get a cm ruler and I'll do your heart pattern ... can't wait to get started. THANK YOU!!
your welcome the magnetic ruler print out is free on my Facebook craft group It is in the files and there are many book folders there so you will get all the help you need there is also a link to a free website one of my members owns and he gives the use of all his 1,000 patterns for FREE so come and join Craftytwunts facebook group.
For all pattens do u fold the same way as your video I have ordered loads off pattens online like the heart and me your useong above all cm marks so I mark the marks and just fold the same way u do for all pattens xx
yes if it is just a fold pattern a lot of the new ones are cut and fold. I have never done one but they are easy. To answer your question yes if its a normal fold just do what i did mark so much then fold OR watch my magnetic ruler video then you just fold no marking as the magnetic ruler stays in place cuts folding time in half.
you have to buy the patterns. There are a lot of facbook groups you can join that have lots of free patterns in their files. They also are brilliant for help and advice.
there is a link to one of my friends in the description box. She makes patterns also you can get many free ones if you type into google free book folding patterns.
I explain in the video how to count and find the page to start on to keep both edges the same. or you could do the heart in a book thats close to the number of pages you need and tear out the excess at the back, but its better to center it.
I think you are referring to the cut out ones. They are cut around a template. I have a vase tutorial on how it works. Some people cover the book in paper. I sometimes covered the spine in wide ribbon. hope this helps.
I warped the ribbon around the book and stuck it down with double sided sticky tape and I made the bow with thin doweling pegs stuck in a piece of wood with holes drilled in it. When I first started crafting made my own bow maker with a stack of card and 2 old pens. You can make the bow maker yourself, Get a cardboard box cut it up into pieces just bigger than a mobile phone glue around 8 into a stack. Poke around 6 holes in a line about half an inch apart. Use the pens as sticks and make your bow by winding the ribbon around the sticking up pens. Or just look on youtube how to use a bow maker but use your pan thing in the same way as a bow maker.
It was a free one, Just type into google free heart book folding pattern and I'm sure you will find it also join my facebook craft group Craftytwunts as there are some free patterns in our files.

It is genuine and I have used it myself so I know it is TOTALLY free foldedbookart.co.uk/
foldedbookart.co.uk/ here is a great link for free downloadable FREE patterns try the normal fold ones before yo progress to the harder cut and fold xx
Why did you start on the chart and skip 1/3/5 ect. And start with page 13? What about the first few pages you skipped? It's probably in front of me but I don't get it UGH
because book folding is done with the LEAFS of the book eg. each leaf is 2 readable pages so all patterns will either be 2, 4, 6, etc or 1, 3, 5, depending on the pattern maker. Also to keep the heart in the center of the book you have to do a wee sum and find the right place in your book to start. So my place was page 13
If you go here this man is also in our craft group he gives crafters his patterns for free foldedbookart.co.uk. He also has youtube tutorials too his name is Matthew Davies I have use his patterns and they are great

I warped the ribbon around the book and stuck it down with double sided sticky tape and I made the bow with thin doweling pegs stuck in a piece of wood with holes drilled in it. When I first started crafting made my own bow maker with a stack of card and 2 old pens.
