The two lane courtesy and refusing to bowl next to a split are so true. I want this to be mandatory viewing at our preseason bowling meeting next August.
I’m guilty of having all of these pet peeves myself. The slow bowling, specially when you have a missing bowler or two between the two teams, and you’re still the last pair of teams to leave the lanes that night, when you thought maybe you could get home a little early.
Even worse, the person who is "robbed" every time they hit the pocket and doesn't get a strike. Also, the person who blames the lane when their ball doesn't do what they want it to do.
@@NeilTruick I use to have a guy on my team that felt if his ball touched the 1 and 3 pin it was a pocket hit and should give him a strike. Then he sets at the table bitching about it throwing his hat and bringing the entire team down. @@NeilTruick this one absolutely kills me. One guy on my wife's team throws one of the worst balls ever seen, and freaks out when he doesn't strike. Somewhere between zero and minus (backward) revolutions at release. She likes him because he sometimes gives away tickets to the Ottawa Senators 🤮🤮
I bowled league in Atlanta and there was one league I quit halfway through because I got tired of people giving 2 lane courtesy. I has my pba card at the time and I hated giving it in league. It works good when everyone does it properly. It sucks when half the people don't know how it works and the other half act like league is a pba national stop
@crimsontide1980 I will agree with you even when I was bowling regionals and two lane courtesy was mandatory. People used to get so upset if a new bowler would break it. I never had an issue with somebody double jumping me

These are funny. The 2 lane courtesy for sure. The towel on the ball return hits a little too close to home. Also this reminds me I need to charge the battery of my fan.

I wish our league rules stated a 1 lane courtesy. In a league where they "practice" the 2 lan courtesy, this is the first time I have encountered it, NOT a FAN of it as I think 1 lane courtesy is just fine for league bowling.
@@jvmiller1995 I'd practice with my brother in law. Accidentally drop a ball as the other is almost at release point! Throw towels on the next lane. Hi Nick. I got an Arctic Vibe for Christmas and want it drilled for a smooth motion across the lane. Would a pin-up or down layout be better for a 2 hander?
I typically don’t understand 2 lane courtesy but I did flop when someone two lanes over stepped off just before me after the front 11. I feel like that close to a 300 shot is slightly different though.
I bowl with an ultra slow bowler whp gives out unsolicited advice. And I know the other teams hate bowling against us because they can feel their beards growing longer waiting for him to throw his shot once he's on the approach.
#7 happened to me at Holiday Doubles a couple weeks ago, in GAME 8! We hadn’t been doing 2 lanes all day, all the sudden we are in front of the announcer table the college kid needs 2 lanes.
That use to be a rule you had to wait for the last bowler to throw their first ball. But it does not bother me unless 2 or 33 bowlers are missing or something making it go to fast. Otherwise I like it to move along. Nothing worse that getting paired against a team of slow bowlers then have their 1st bowler wait also.
I'm always up for bowling advice. (Not this though). But, what I can't stand is having a serious discussion about what is going on and a third person along with his alcohol decides to jump in. It doesn't end very well.

Two-lane courtesy during practice is absolutely unwarranted. Old geezers like myself would probably still do it during league play, although I haven't bowled league in many years now. But even one-lane courtesy in open play seems nonexistent these days, sadly.
Holy friggin crap! The sharing every detail when asked how's it goin. FUUUUUUUKKKK. I have listened to it so many times. But, DO NOT DO IT WHEN I'M ON THE APPROACH!!!
I can't believe as a newer bowler that I have experienced all but the apologizing already. The worst was a woman literally throwing a tantrum about 2 lane courtesy during a full house. She f-bombed a half dozen times while jumping up and down with her fists clenched. She bowled a 147. I think it about killed her when she figured out that league didn't stop for her. I have to admit that I'm guilty for having more than 1 ball on the return, though. Our alley is so cramped that it's hard to get into your bag mid-game. So, I set 2 up and hold one at my seat. The other annoying problem is when the bowler in the next set of lanes keeps side stepping in front of you as you begin your approach. I absolutely hate that.
I try to keep my spare ball in a ball cup, right behind the ball return. Problem is, after I throw my spare ball, the next guy is already walking up to the approach, raring to go, so I can't stand there to wait on my spare ball to return to remove it. So I gotta stand there, behind the approach, wait on the next bowler to throw their shot, run up there and grab my spare ball and put it back in the ball cup and hopefully not irritate the guy trying to reach for his spare ball at the same time I'm putting mine down. You'd be surprised how many people get mad when you're anywhere near the approach while they're bowling. They can throw a shot, step off the approach to grab another ball and they still don't want anybody around the approach. It's crazy......it's just league😅
About the only thing that bothers me in league is when the drinkers start to get unwound about halfway through the second game. They get real loud and start doing and yelling the dumbest s**t, disrupting and disrespecting the whole league.
Oh and unsolicited bowling advise never bothers me. I can take it or disregard it. A week ago a fellow bowler asked me if I would mind some observations. The biggest pet peeve is too many balls on ball rack and the second one is when it's your turn to bowl and people don't pay attention when they're up they're too busy talking to other people in the bowling center and not paying attention to their turn😂😂
My biggest pet peeve? People who think they need 1000 balls to be a good bowler. The gearhead proshoppers. I’ve had the same ball since 2006 (hammer vibe), granted I’ve used it for about 4 years total, but I’ve had 700s a Greek 300, won international tournaments and state tournaments and several scholarships. If I can do it, you can do it. It’s the person that makes the ball, not the ball that makes the person. I’m also adding that I’ve had 3 balls at a time before. A heavy oil, light oil, and spare. That’s all that you should need.
Personally, I don't care if they bring one or bring 20.........as long as they don't put half their arsenal on the ball rack😂. For some people, it's easier to make a ball change than a line change. Some people love to buy the newest hot release, which is insane because they release like 7 or 8 new balls a month, every month. I couldn't afford to buy all these balls even if I wanted to, plus, newer balls crack so frequently, I feel like I'd be pissing away money. Had to throw away an IQ Tour last year, had only sit for 2 months unused, and that was enough to piss me off. Couldn't imagine throwing away 4 or 5 like my buddy had to.
I hate bowling next to a split, I guess I’m just a superstitious bowler, I was a superstitious baseball player back in the day. Seems like everytime I bowl with a split next to me I split, so I try not to, but I won’t blatantly not go and bowl
There was one time at my bowling club in high school where the captain of the team was already standing for his approach on lane 2 (right of the gutter). As he was standing there ready, thats when I picked up my ball and stood where I did on lane 1 (left of gutter). He got mad at me for getting ready before he threw his shot but he was standing there for a good 20 seconds talking to other people in my club about his shot he was about to throw so I just went. And if i was in his way like bruh the ball return was dividing us 🤷♂️ idk he was mad at me for that for a while...
There's no tables at my league, just seating far behind the ball return, so I have to keep my shammy up there. If I didn't, bowling would take forever. But I never put it on someone's ball or in the way. Everyone does it there. But if people were putting it on my ball that would irritating for sure.
Apologizing for ugly strikes.........yep, guilty😂😂😂😂😂 could be worse, at least I'm not the guy with 4 balls on the rack, or freaking out of someone 2 lanes down gets up on the approach when I'm in my backswing😂

I cant stand people loading the rack up. I have had nights that only 6 people on the pair and I would have to ask who has all the balls. You should get one on the return and one below if they have the rack and the rest stay in your bag or locker. Lane curtesy and people not knowing it even though they bowl weekly is my #1 hate. #2 is people giving me advise I did not ask for... Especially if I am out bowling them. I also dislike when a person comes back from bowling telling me how they messed up & what he or she should of done different to have had a strike or making excuses for themself. Like that is nice you know... Why are you telling me? If you know then sit down shut up and do it right next time! People dropping food or splashing their beer on the floor and not cleaning it up so I can step in it and stick. People putting baby powder all over their shoe. Those that try and let a pin count after their ball jumps out of the ditch to hit it. To many others to name.
Nicely done..........My pet peeve is anyone walking into a lanes and heaving the ball down with two hands. That simply does not count! We're hoping to get the sport into the Olympics some day and this does not help!
Might find this hard to believe but my biggest peeves of other players are only 2. 1 All those players touching the bottom of their shoes drives me nuts. 2 2 handed bowlers I would ban it in a second take the skirt off and bowl like a man.
Spent 40 years working centers I could dbl this list remember every bowler who walks through the door is a pro. The big joke is the guys with 6 or more balls.

People dropping food or splashing their beer on the floor and not cleaning it up so I can step in it and stick.
People putting baby powder all over their shoe.
Those that try and let a pin count after their ball jumps out of the ditch to hit it. To many others to name.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Must truly be pet peeves if you get annoyed at the video, huh? 😂
Nicely done..........My pet peeve is anyone walking into a lanes and heaving the ball down with two hands. That simply does not count! We're hoping to get the sport into the Olympics some day and this does not help!
That’s a dumb take
Might find this hard to believe but my biggest peeves of other players are only 2.
1 All those players touching the bottom of their shoes drives me nuts.
2 2 handed bowlers I would ban it in a second take the skirt off and bowl like a man.
People licking their fingers and touching their shoes makes me want to throw up. I could care less about 2 handers.
My bowling alley doesn't sweep often so I have to knock the pizza crumbs off before my turn. I'm going to remember this post every time now.
I don't care if people touch the bottom of their shoes. But I ain't giving them a high 5😂😂😂 fist bumps for everyone, IDC if you bowl a 300.
Spent 40 years working centers I could dbl this list remember every bowler who walks through the door is a pro. The big joke is the guys with 6 or more balls.
I bowled against a guy who brought 3 seperate 3 ball bags for a Thursday night league. On a house shot. On a non position round. To his credit, he is an excellent bowler. But NINE balls?!?!?
@@crimsontide1980 1 hard 1 soft good for Thur. nite.
Having been committed to hospital in isolation all holidays, watching this video makes me realise the only thing I truly miss is bowling 🎳
I hope you get better. God bless you.
@ hey thanks for the well wishes!
