In many areas of the USA HVACR service techs are members of Plumbers & Steamfitters unions. In Nebraska the only refer shop between Lincoln-Denver is a signatory of LU#464. Every JCI/York/Frick Tech I’ve ever met was a member of a Steamfitter union.
The governing code of construction is ASME B31.5 and it requires a pneumatic pressure test at 110% of design pressure which is typically 250 psig on the high side. So test pressure should have been minimum 275 psig, but no more than 130%

Sad to think that we live in a world where diversity is placed above all else. I want the best people for doing a job. I don't care if they're black, yellow or purple. Show me where a diverse group of people did higher quality work, more efficiently, than a group of people from the same race.
I came thinking I was going to get the technical & skilled info and instead got reminded ever 5 minutes about joining a Union.
How about them Steamfitters?
tbf you should join a union if you are doing a trade.
unless you like getting screwed over by your employer.
