Thanks, I figured most of that out but I wasn't sure about unplugging and replugging random cords. I wasn't sure if that was safe for the electronics while it was still plugged in, so it was good to see you safely execute that first. 👍🏻
Did this and it worked and I didn't have to order the new switch. Just taking out the wire to the indicator to test it, and a few other wires, and the burner on light stayed off. GE basic model recent years. Thanks!
Hi, my stove does not have a light to indicate the burner is on. Does the prong for the light on the infinite switch needs to be connected as mine has burned down
What about knob lights that are staying on but also can feel low grade heat going to those burners when in the off position? Could this also be a bad switch issue?
I can’t figure out why the light is staying on I think I checked all the wires my GE stove is a little different it has a Red and yellow wire on the burner light, I already replaced a heating element so not sure if one of those being bad could cause the light to stay on, I may just have to call someone to come repair it
While it won’t cause a fire, it could be a hazard if you did not know that the burner was on and something was set on the burner. The best thing to do would be to repair it. I hope this helps, thanks for watching.
I know this is from a year ago, but for anyone else reading it and having the same concern, turn your breaker off for your stove and if you have a lot of anxiety about it, only turn it on when you will be at the stove and then turn the breaker off again until you get it fixed

This is a great video. Do i need to unplug the stove or just leave it alone until the issue is fixed? Im so worried. Help please.
What would be the issue if when you turn on a burner, the burner light flickers slightly??

My recepticle burned up and since then the light has been on. I replaced the recepticle and it doesnt get hot and the light still on?
What is the part number for this range
Is this the same for the oven is on light?
I think that might be similar. Thanks for watching.

I Like it. THanks.
wow I'm going to try that
Would this cause a fire or is it just the light wire that's malfunctioning?

Thanks
Bruh THHHHHAAAANNNNNKKKKKK UUUUUUUU!!!!! I feel so dumb lol
I’m afraid to sleep because I don’t want my house to burn down
As long as the burner is not hot, you should be fine. This was a pretty easy fix once the part is acquired. Thanks for watching
Should I keep my stove unplug after I use it until I can get it fixed?
@nadia_ash3250 I have same question

Can you just leave unplugged?
If you don’t want to have a light.
