I used to be a hoarder, and the point about turning against loved ones is very very true. Thankfully, I have learned to control it cause when pandemic hit, I was in my final semester of college and had to leave the apartment I was living in to go back home. I had to give away and part with so many things I couldn't imagine being without. But since then, I have a rule that if I don't think about something for 6 months, it is gone. I mostly give it away to someone, instead of throwing it away; which makes me feel better.
Thank you for this episode guys. I’ve been alternating between smoke-addiction and alcohol-addiction off late; Neville’s words resonated most with me, he seemed to speak to my soul with those empathy-drenched words. It’s also wonderful to see 4 guys who’re so different in terms of their addictions!
I was reading Friends, lovers and the big terrible thing by Matthew Perry and I was just so shocked to read the withdrawal symptoms of drugs.I think people who decide to quit on such things are strong and very brave.
Hoarding can come from attachment issues. I have got toys from when I was 2 years old working till now. In some ways, it also turns into pride about the care, maintenance put into it and good usage. I hoard food items and keep delaying eating/drinking the last item from a collection till/after its expiry. It has become less in terms of food due to availability and home delivery services. I have the body of my college phone from 2011 and working personal laptop from 2012. Been using a phone with green lines for over 3 months because giving up a phone used for over 2 years would be painful.
kautuk telling stories, varun enacting, bawa explaingin whys of the stories , aadar looking pretty and changin wallpaeprs and giving facts once in a while.. and for a fleeting minute all seems okay in this fucked up shithole of a planet. my life has changed(loike everyone else's i reckon) in the past 5 yrs so much.. ..i can count on single hand the things 2010 me has in common with 2023 me.. and that is you 4 guys.. in summary - Thank you..
16.17 talking about hypnotism: it works on the principle of suggestibility. If you already have a block in your mind that it's not going to work, then it won't work. Also it's not as easy as swinging a pendulum in from of the eyes, there are a lot of effort, connecting with the client, building a rapport, exchanging of info and confidentiality which goes into this. It's a beautiful science.
A lot of bhankas but a serious topic handled with some tact in the middle of all of it. Love these kinds of episodes. You should do serious topics more frequently
same here kautuk,, I also think that I have addictive tendencies.. that's why I quit and now never play games online and never download them on my phone.. And I think mostly freelancers face this problem..
Varun your story of smoking is exactly same as mine, from hating cigarette smoke to becoming a smoker, stealing dads cigarettes everything same,I’ve been a smoker for more than 10 years 1 pack a day,but I quit smoking in 2018,no gum or patch works we all know that,it’s all psychological,I watched videos of how smoking harms and read about it whole night and stopped smoking next day, first 3 days are the toughest, but once you cross that phase it becomes easier day by day.try it you will see so many differences in your body and you will love the feeling of being a non smoker.
I realised after Neville mentioned his chai addiction... That many liquid containers are words with a U, as if visually describing a container.... Cup, mug, jug, tub😃 It feels like a discovery 😂
Good to see a serious topic being discussed. You guys should discuss more serious topics sometimes. It’s a nice change with Ofcourse few laughs in between :)
Great going Neville!!!! ❤❤ Also such a good episode. I love that Bawa brought a serious element to it as well. I feel some topics can have serious discussions here 😊
You know what guys...THANKYOU!! Thankyou and i mean it in the sweetest way possible...you are always ON in my ears. I feel less lonely. I sleep hearing the podcasts. I give my exam duties hearing you guys. I do every chore hearing you all. Huge Thankyou for existing and doing what you do. ~ A fan since 2017
Hey just a small thing I noticed with the screen divisions. Kautuk’s box is yellow but his name is cyan and Varun’s box is cyan and name yellow but Nevil’s and Adar’s box and name are of the same colour. I don’t know why, but it just bugged me… sorry for this comment😂
Quit smoking cold turkey BUT I researched and found out all the Whys of my smoking addiction. Reasons included the environment, declined mental-health, declined self-esteem, friends, common activities between friends. Fortunately, I moved to a different country leaving major reason (friends) behind and boom. It helped me a lot. I still had really bad cravings but I managed. I also turned smoking addiction to less harmful ones for a period for e.g. sugar, chocolate then coffee. Now, after almost 3 years, I have no addiction. Not even coffee.. The main thing about quitting any addiction is to understand the inner workings and reasons behind that move as well as triggers.. You can do it. It's possible.
Very nice episode.. kudos to Varun for discussing his smoking addiction.. Some very practical discussions on various other issues as well like the one that should be had.
“Most of your problems in your life are cold open” 1.THAT IS GOING ON A T-SHIRT 2.I AM GOING TO TELL EVERY CHILD THAT WHEN THEY ASK ME FOR ADVICE! Adhar is like a living feeling of when you have 3 glasses of brandy.
There is a guy in Inauit, Canada (very cold area) where Northern lights are seen, there is a guy name Sam Sanitizer who drinks sanitizer, it's v remote area so one fine day he took a truck (to steal / rob) on the airport runway when he knew a consignment of Sanitizer is being shipped
On the matter of understanding, i love that episode on the west wing where leo talks about his alcoholism to a white house staffer. wonderful depiction of addiction on screen
1:08:46 - The concept of zombie came from Haitian zombi, and it was actually used to make someone your slave for a while. This story became zombie in pop culture as it was believed they reanimated the dead.
Guys, really stupid...I took a nap in the middle of work today and I dreamt that Kautuk died after being stung by a sting ray that someone released in the pool in my building that Kautuk was swimming in. Fyi there is no pool in my building, nor do I know if a sting ray stings.

It was refreshing to see Bawa talk about his dad's alcoholism so openly. It's never easy.

Kautuk’s gutka acting on point 😂
You can take a man out of UP, but you can’t take UP out of a man.
He is from UP bro.
Genes kicking in

Aadar's silly, eye-rolly humour makes my day😂😂
At ~56 mins you really can see Bawa's passion for mental health. Happy to see you guys again
Varun has single handedly auditionedd for a Gutka advertise better than all the gutka ads ever

43:21 Team Hoarder of Books, UNITE! It’s very hard to part with books.
Also, I hoard stationery of all sorts.
A lot of bhankas but a serious topic handled with some tact in the middle of all of it. Love these kinds of episodes. You should do serious topics more frequently

This was a heart felt episode. It pushed me to introspect.
4:44 Ambient viewing is important to me too. It’s really tough finding something to just play in the background as you eat.
the way their conversation makes me smile and laugh speaks a lot about a connection they've formed with us, thankyou boys and lofe you!

Team:- ok today we talk about addiction
Kautuk:- ok Hold my jawar puffs
Kautuk's reaction to Bawa's "double click" pun, Hahahahaha. I had the exact same reaction 😅
For that matter, hoarding photos in the phone is also something. For that also, I have a rule that 4 pictures for one day. That's it!
An almost 2 hr long episode?? This is amazing 🎉💘
Deprived of a regular Tuesday, we have our Friday evenings set 🔥
P.S. Varun’s drunk persona has a separate fan base lol
Kitna nalla hain reh tu zindagi nahi hain kya ?
@@Zizo_786 I could ask you the same since you took out precious time from your extremely productive life to type out your unsolicited opinion
Great going Neville!!!! ❤❤
Also such a good episode. I love that Bawa brought a serious element to it as well. I feel some topics can have serious discussions here 😊
35:45 In the UK, I’ve heard of an establishment that are determined to have fun vibes without alcohol and provide alcohol free alternatives.
