I used to be a hoarder, and the point about turning against loved ones is very very true. Thankfully, I have learned to control it cause when pandemic hit, I was in my final semester of college and had to leave the apartment I was living in to go back home. I had to give away and part with so many things I couldn't imagine being without. But since then, I have a rule that if I don't think about something for 6 months, it is gone. I mostly give it away to someone, instead of throwing it away; which makes me feel better.

Thank you for this episode guys. I’ve been alternating between smoke-addiction and alcohol-addiction off late; Neville’s words resonated most with me, he seemed to speak to my soul with those empathy-drenched words. It’s also wonderful to see 4 guys who’re so different in terms of their addictions!

For that matter, hoarding photos in the phone is also something. For that also, I have a rule that 4 pictures for one day. That's it!

I was reading Friends, lovers and the big terrible thing by Matthew Perry and I was just so shocked to read the withdrawal symptoms of drugs.I think people who decide to quit on such things are strong and very brave.

Varun your story of smoking is exactly same as mine,from hating cigarette smoke to becoming a smoker,stealing dads cigarettes everything same,I’ve been a smoker for more than 10 years 1 pack a day,but I quit smoking in 2018,no gum or patch works we all know that,it’s all psychological,I watched videos of how smoking harms and read about it whole night and stopped smoking next day,first 3 days are the toughest,but once you cross that phase it becomes easier day by day.try it you will see so many differences in your body and you will love the feeling of being a non smoker.

There is a guy in Inauit, Canada (very cold area) where Northern lights are seen, there is a guy name Sam Sanitizer who drinks sanitizer, it's v remote area so one fine day he took a truck (to steal / rob) on the airport runway when he knew a consignment of Sanitizer is being shipped
Hoarding can come from attachment issues. I have got toys from when I was 2 years old working till now.
In some ways, it also turns into pride about the care, maintenance put into it and good usage.
I hoard food items and keep delaying eating/drinking the last item from a collection till/after its expiry.
It has become less in terms of food due to availability and home delivery services.
I have the body of my college phone from 2011 and working personal laptop from 2012.
Been using a phone with green lines for over 3 months because giving up a phone used for over 2 years would be painful.
Kautuk what about having a library membership or donating books to a library
Deprived of a regular Tuesday, we have our Friday evenings set 🔥

same here kautuk,, I also think that I have addictive tendencies.. that's why I quit and now never play games online and never download them on my phone.. And I think mostly freelancers face this problem..

16.17 talking about hypnotism: it works on the principle of suggestibility. If you already have a block in your mind that it's not going to work, then it won't work. Also it's not as easy as swinging a pendulum in from of the eyes, there are a lot of effort, connecting with the client, building a rapport, exchanging of info and confidentiality which goes into this.
It's a beautiful science.

the way their conversation makes me smile and laugh speaks a lot about a connection they've formed with us, thankyou boys and lofe you!
Bawa is soo good in the first half minute.
Quit smoking cold turkey BUT I researched and found out all the Whys of my smoking addiction.
Reasons included the environment, declined mental-health, declined self-esteem, friends, common activities between friends.
Fortunately, I moved to a different country leaving major reason (friends) behind and boom.
It helped me a lot.
I still had really bad cravings but I managed.
I also turned smoking addiction to less harmful ones for a period for e.g. sugar, chocolate then coffee.
Now, after almost 3 years, I have no addiction. Not even coffee..
The main thing about quitting any addiction is to understand the inner workings and reasons behind that move as well as triggers..
You can do it. It's possible.

Guys, really stupid...I took a nap in the middle of work today and I dreamt that Kautuk died after being stung by a sting ray that someone released in the pool in my building that Kautuk was swimming in. Fyi there is no pool in my building, nor do I know if a sting ray stings.
