This piece is brilliant!! Ricky’s choreography is pure genius!! All the dancers were insanely talented! I of course wanted to see Ricky shine but he gave the spotlight to Melanie who of course was out of this world! Her extensions like Ricky’s are perfect and they go on forever!
This chorégraphie représente for me , how love is so complicated. That they are always one who dominant the sentiment of the other . It's the best chorégraphie vidéo I have ever seen.
Beautiful Choreography from Ricky. Melanie, Ricky and the other dancers also danced this brilliantly. Great to see the Winners of SYTYCD Season 8 and SYTYCD Season 11 dancing together.
I’m from Brazil and first saw Melanie dancing at the 8th season of SYTYCD when I was speding a few months in the US in 2011 - since this show is not broadcasted over here in my country. Since then, I’ve been trying to hunt her down through the internet and luckily found this kinda “new” dance work here! 🥰
Emocionante!
Strong on choreography and performance, but beyond the rockiness of their relationship, those of us who are interpretation-challenged could use some program notes.
Well it is really up to each person and what they see and feel from it. Ricky, and the other two dressed in black act like stage hands (almost cosmic beings) pulling them together. And their relationship is beautiful and amazing, it falls apart and as they are pulled apart she keeps going back to him and to that relationship. Just as she is about to leave they have one last chance where she finally says no and moves on and away. They part ways and the stage hands go back to their rhythmic existence waiting for the next people to put together or pull apart. They act like "fate" and this is their story of two lovers who fell in love and then fell out of it, and stuttered and went back, and ultimately split apart. Or at least that's what I see and how I interpret it.
Just before my 2nd view, I saw the title, "Stuff That Wakes You Up." Led me to feel that it was dreaming - Men in black seemed to paint in and out, carrying a dream-state. Poses of strength melted into a love relationship with moments of ecstasy, vulnerabilities and pain. Both the dissolving of the relationship and/or ending of the dream-state reverted back to poses of strength. The "rockiness" of relationships and desire for reconciliation beautifully drives the choreography and wakes us up at night. And I like Martin's take, also.
Melanie and Ricky in the same video?! This is a dream come true. And as expected... the performance was beyond anything I've seen in a while!
Beyond perfection. I return to this every few months. No one moves like Melanie.

OMG why did it take me so long to find this! I love Melanie and I love this choreography. What a timeless tale....I got it quick. Such a great dance!
Melanie moore has a stage presence few dancers have
Danielle Gest, Melanie can just stand on a stage and breathe and one can feel the emotions coming from her.
This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life
Omg, Melanie, Ricky, AND The Lumineers... My heeeart 💙
Please can you tell me the name of the music tracks PLEASEEEEE
Saad Sheikh patience by the lumineers for the front part, instrumental version of the louvre by lorde for the remainder of the dance 😊

@@martinchristiaan5815 thank you so much! It feels much more beautiful now that I understand it.

I didn't like Ricky on SYTYCD. It was the inevitability of it. But....the choreography in this dance was amazing.
